Mark antony amps?
ricksi30 replied to Elrey7698's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
How the hell do you stumble upon deals like this? First the bum now this lol. For a hundred dollars you can't go wrong. -
This Some shops will beat you over the head if you don't know anything, though I was in Australia a couple months back, and my mom wanted a better setup since she bought a new car. She was very inpatient about it and went to a shop instead of waiting for me to get back and install something. These guys pulled the wool over her eyes and installed a complete jl system for 4600. Couple things to note about the setup They used a pos loc instead of using a processor. They didn't amp the jl components. They were powered by the pos bose amp. They installed 2 pairs of components, instead of 1 There was NO sound deadening. They installed 2 12w6's in the smallest boxes i've ever seen. Those subs were choking to death in there. The trunk was fully custom and looked pretty good, until i ripped the panels off and seen the wiring nightmare. The wiring was a complete cluster-fuck. There was duct tape everywhere. They screwed the crossovers in the glovebox, instead of hiding them It was one of the worst setup's i've seen and heard. It was too late by then and i was stuck with it. I ended up adding an ms8, changing the components for a pair of hertz hsk's, and putting the subs in much bigger sealed boxes. Sounds pretty good now, but still needs work. DAMN 4600! That is terrible, but you live and you learn. I bet it sounds great after you added the hertz and fixed the box though.

Stick with the factory amp or replace?
ricksi30 replied to Dano 00TA's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would definitely do it since you already have the amp. Even though It's low power I would test it and keep whatever sounds better. -
Haha you sure you're just drinking?
-
I doubt that you would be disappointed. Not too many people have first hand experience with them yet though. If it were me I wouldn't think twice about getting them.
-
Some people say you should, but I hook them up and go full tilt
-
Just get a grill to cover the sub. I'd look into the xcon and maybe even the Fi Bl.
-
Awesome! First impression?
-
This is like four months old haha. I hope he figured something out by now.
-
The inserts aren't my thing, but very very good work How does it sound? What tweeters?
-
So what your saying is that your subwoofer doesn't hit the highs? Hmmm
-
Yeah install is everything. Even with less cone area I'm confident that this will be louder.
-
Decided it was time for something new, so here it is......... XCON Power
-
I didn't get a chance. To be honest when I had the three it was louder and sounded better even being wired to a higher ohm load. I thought I had more room than I did. I had to bend the sheet metal just to get it in.
-
It's actually a pretty big car, but there is no doubt in my mind that it will be loud and LOW.

Sounds good. Already stripping her down, I swore I would never do this

Yeah probably this week. It's just so damn hot. Yeah, it's easy to just give you shit and then forget how hot it is... I mounted my left door panel with the new fiberglass panel, and decided I'm just going to leave it on unfinished until it cools off, it's just ridiculous trying to glass with the fumes, and sand for hours in the garage. Yeah that's where the box building goes down. We did my box for the 10's like two weeks ago and it sucked. Phoenix was awful today. Curious, as I didn't ask earlier, did you not have enough room to take full advantage of the 4 10s, where as now, you hope you can get an optimal enclosure for the single 18"? I see the posts above, but just wondered the reasoning for the drop in cone area. Phx is a good 5-10degrees hotter then here huh It's mini wall time The tens were choked like crazy. The box was big enough but the port was too close to the trunk, and subs were too close to the deck. I'm sure this will be enough, (for a few weeks) and if not I'll grab another. This sounds sweet, can't wait to hear another xcon! I would offer lending a hand but I'm the last person you want when working with wood Haha practice makes perfect. Idk what your schedule is like but I'll let you know when were going to do it if you want to come check out what goes down.

I had 4 Sa-10's, I'm looking forward to the LOWS. So one 18 will be louder than 4 10's? Never said that haha. But the way its going to be installed it should be. And I may just Have to do another

I would be all over that amp -
Yeah they are 10's. And you should be able to fit the fifteens.
