I had four sa10's and gained by switching to a single 15. Also when I had only three sa10's it was louder than the four. You can only get so much space in a trunk car while keeping a good install. The 4 sa10's had the most power btw.

Listen for stress, and if you smell coil that's a definite sign you're giving them too much. How did you set your gain?

It is normal for them to get warm.

LOL,, I found the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When i wired the sub directly to the amp, bypassing the terminals in the box, that fixed the problem.. So I have pulled my box out of the car to see what the issue is with the terminals... Thank you everyone that helped!! :dancing: :eek5wavey: Haha called it

Nice! I expect vids by Wednesday night

A loose remote wire gave me almost identical symptoms a week or so ago. I tried everything with no luck, Checked behind the headunit and it had some how come uncrimped and was barely connected. Next bet would be a poor ground connection. One other possibility is a bad speaker terminal on the box, make sure you test directly to the sub.

You're doing something wrong, stop wrapping boxes in suede and get yourself a Saints logo stencil and a can of Rustoleum. -

Anyone that could actually help me with my install?

This^^^ do everything you can to save some cash. Plenty of knowledgeable people on here that can help you along the way. Then if you need a few things done you can save yourself an arm and a leg. -
Even if they thought it was taken care for the 10 months when this thread was started it's now 23 days later. This should have been top priority, and obviously isn't. Busy is no excuse to keep a customer waiting damn near a year for something they paid for.

SSA Welcomes Mechman High Output Alternators to the forum!

Awesome! -
Spl enclosures are tuned higher, and tend to be smaller to increase power handling. What if you don't need to increase power handling? Are you sure that always increases your output? I stopped with just a generic definition for a reason. There are no "rules of thumb" that really work otherwise. The real answer for the OP is to do some reading to actually understand enclosures and ask questions about details he doesn't follow in what he reads. Most of the time a larger enclosure will yield more output (Obviously putting a 10 in a 10 cubic foot box wouldn't work), however most true spl setups I see are highly powered. There is no absolute rule of thumb, many other things factor in. (Drivers, amps, electrical, vehicle, and the list goes on)

Why not the dcon?

Why can't you use a normal charger for a AGM? Are you saying you need a special alternator too? I'm curious on exactly what you have to say. Seeing you have no idea what type of charger he already has. Which some normal chargers can charge AGM's just fine, and only know until you research and find out. But jumping to a assumtion isn't helping anybody. I'd also like to know the answer to this.

I'm using my ap15001 temporarily as well. I paid 150, and can almost guarantee I'll get that on craigslist when I'm ready to order my sundown. Can't be beat for $150 in my opinion. -
Wow really? I wanted to pick a few up but now I don't know.
-
Wow came out great

Lots of port area tuned to 33-35.
-
Awesome I'll definitely be in for a big one. And I agree pvc is better. I was looking at sonotube for a recent build and some of the ten inch sonotube was bigger than the twelve inch....
-
Looks pretty cool, I'm interested.
-
Looks good, hope you don't have any issues using such little port area.

People love complaining, either work on affording it or just go find something in your price range. I DON'T think the amp is over priced. I guess the way I worded some things could have been more clear.

Turn your gain down until you get your electrical fixed or you are going to have more problems.
