So I'm sick of borrowing other peoples DMM's and O-scopes. Anyone hear anything about this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=390-500&FTR=390-500 Also can anybody suggest a decently priced handheld O-scope? Thanks, Rick

Awesome man, thanks for going out of your way. I've always heard good things about fluke. -

I've got a Velleman HPS10 handheld O-scope if you are interested... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=320-290&FTR=velleman%20oscilloscope Now back on topic. It all depends on what you are doing, for basic use, a cheap-o DMM will work just fine, but they do give really off readings with low batteries. Might be interested shoot me a PM with your price to 85741? Thanks -

Well I've always set my gain by ear with tones and never had a problem. But I would like to have one for setting the gain more accurately if they can be had for ~100. -

Thanks I fixed the link. Really only need it to check coils and voltage, however continuity would be nice. Any under 40 that may be a better option? I bought one at Radio Shack for 40 and had to return the POS. -
Haha that's what I thought of.

If it's in good condition, I'd be all over it.

2000 for 2 SA-10's

Also something to consider is your electrical system. 2000 without any upgrades could be very damaging to equipment. -

I completely agree with everything that was previously stated, but if you have the money for the 2000 I say get it. As long as you're smart having headroom is awesome. We all know how often were changing things around. If you are smart with the gain you'll be fine, but if you don't know what you're doing stay closer to the 600 per. -
A 10 to 85741? Thanks, Rick

38 is way too high, no wonder you're missing the lows.

Very cool

No where near enough room.

My vote is SSD.

i just paid $175 for this one :/ it sounds good and loud. but i know 2 15's will have a better low end and the initial hit of a beat will be harder. thats what im looking for. For the LAST time thinking a fifteen will have better low end is not correct. The box will play a large part in how low the sub will play. Also if by "the initial hit of a beat will be harder" means louder, then yes two fifteens will be louder than one twelve if they are setup properly.

im not arguing..... im telling u from my point of view i guess u could say. from my past experiences... thats all Well I'm telling you (coming from someone who has done 30+ installs this year) that you are wrong. If you want some help ask a more clear question, then accept the advice that you are given.

x2, some great advice im just using what i know from my previous set-ups and experience with 12's and 15's. for all my past experiences, this 1 12 is louder than all my 15" set-ups. thats what im trying to say lol. Bad installs. the 2 L7 15's i had were in there recommended ported enclosure with about 900 watts going to each..... Well I guess you know more than I do. Looking at your avatar that Hcca is begging for more port area.

+1 unless you royally eff something up. idk. this hcca is louder than the 2 15" kicker l7's i had befor. its alot louder than u think.... lol So you say you want 2-15"s cause your 12" isnt louder than them but now you say it is louder than 2-15"s. Honestly you need to rebuild that box and give yourself some more port area before buying more equipment. If the HCCA doesnt cut it after the new box, then upgrade your equipment. no i think my 1 12 is louder, but it doesnt have the deep low pounding that 2 15's do. Educate yourself before upgrading. A lot of your thinking is skewed.

What are you trying to achieve? A properly setup 12 vs 15 sq will not be any different, 15's don't have a "more powerful" sound.

First tip would be to not turn your deck up to 62. You should never go to max volume because the signal will be clipped.

Does this apply to Xs Power batts? (Doubtful)

Very true they will perform differently in every door/enclosure they are put in changing power handling.
