Noob questions I can't seem to get a straight answer for.

You can't wire one D4 sub to four ohms. -
different vechiles and planel flex and vibrations...

Yeah you are only doing 55's+. but it dosnt look loud on a video so its not cool Exactly man. If the shit don't flex, it ain't loud. Hell yeah!!! I want to buy a Saturn or something like that just so I can see what I can break. Breaking shit in your car with your system is cool. -
Yeah I just figured he meant "issue"

What do you drive what impedance sub do you have? -
I've heard of many occurrences where their soft parts have failed without being over powered. What is your budget for subwoofers?

Lowering your gain from where it matches your headunits output voltage will result in less power. Also you can consider wiring your speakers to a higher impedance if possible. -

A very basic answer is yes you can run a 2000 watt amp and only see 500 watts. Think of it this way when you have your volume low on your hu it is quieter than when you have it high. Why because your headunits output voltage is lower thus getting less output from your amp. -
Haha you will definitely get one sided reviews about psi here. I have never personally used them, but from some of the things I've heard I probably wouldn't use them. If I had to choose I'd go with DC. Is there any reason that those are your only two options?
-
Ok, then what would you suggest, i have 600$ to spend on 2 subs and a amp... open fo suggestions but you kinda just was like eh sounds dumb but didnt offer what you though would be better in my price range, In that price range the DCON's are a good option. Can you fit a single 15 ported? If you can, a single ICON 15 would be another good option.

After giving it a second thought I'll have to admit I might be wrong. I will say that I would rather have the ZCON. I'm not bashing Sundown at all but is nice knowing what you're getting is American made. That being said, both are great drivers.

How are sub woofer parts electronic?

Wow subs work with less than rated power Looks good man.

How do you know this? I have personally owned 2 Audiopipe amps and have installed 4 and I have never had a problem with the knob. As far as I know it's a remote gain knob. It reduces the output to near-nothing when it's all the way down (like the actual gain setting on your amp), whereas a "boost" knob wouldn't do that...I have had AP and AQX series also. And if he says "if we turn it down any more there is barely any bass" then isn't that setting the gain by ear, like most of us suggest? I don't doubt he grossly overpowered them but...I distinctly remember a thread where everyone was bashing the SMD DD-1 with comments like "use your ears!" and now we're here...lol Ap series amps have bass boost knobs. We can agree to disagree. I don't think a boost knob would reduce output to almost nothing when it's all the way down. It would only boost output when you turn it up. Sounds good to me

This statement is just silly.

yes thtd be awesome, im not ordering for about a week anyways, just trying to get everything figured out before the day im gonna order. and if i was to decide on buying the aq750, what would be the optimal box for this? ~1 cube net per driver. Tuning will be based on your taste, but I'd go for 33-34.

The enclosure will depend on the amount of power you are using.

In Search of 6.5" Front Components for Yaris Hatchback
ricksi30 replied to EmanAbela's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If you are limited to what you can find locally your best bet is to demo everything that you can. A solid front stage is much more varied from person to person than any other aspect of car audio in my opinion. Listen to as many different sets as you can and go from there. -
What head units would you like to see in the store?
ricksi30 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in SSA® Store
I agree. Nakamichi maybe -
I tried....eff that game

How many watts will i get
ricksi30 replied to no_username's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Didn't you buy an AQ750? If so it is mono. If you bought the two d4 DCON's you'll want to wire to one ohm. -
I have never had this happen. Maybe I'm not loud enough

99% sure I am doing a forward firing setup. Sub behind the rear seat with 8" port firing through the rear deck. I am going to take my time fabricating this one. I am going to be fiberglassing a rear deck panel. I havent taken any measurements yet. Everything should work out ok. DC Audio repair center sent me an RA number to ship it out to them to have it repaired. I never imagined to have any issues with it. Really a fluke thing. I haven't heard anybody ever having issues with these amps. I searched and searched for a fault in my setup or other equipment and I was not able to come up with any other reason. The amp was working great since installing it then three days later POOF no bass. My XD600/1 has been working great since reinstalling it. Me too bro. I am definitely enjoying this subwoofer more and more. It sounds great being powering with less than 600w. Not crazy loud but loud, sounds surprisingly good too. For comparison I would say it is a tad louder than the 13w6 on same power. The impact with the ZCON is amazing. It hits you square in the chest. I am not noticing any "muddiness" or sensing that the driver is slow at reproducing music. The opposite, it sounds tight and articulate. I have not owned any other SPL type subwoofer but I am guessing that this one sounds better than the rest! I am very excited to install this driver in a new enclosure and power this back up with my 2.0K That's great man! I'm glad you like the ZCON (I really miss it ) I hope you get that amp fixed soon.
