    Help with my front stage.

It seems like every 6.5 set that I've used or heard has zero mid bass. I don't like crossing my sub super high. I really just want to pull my staging up front and cross my sub woofer lower. Every comp set that I've had I have had to high pass at 100 or 125 to get them loud enough.

    Help with my front stage.

So I've been debating on how to do my front stage for a while, and would appreciate some help. I currently have an 880prs for the processing and 8 channels of amplification to work with. I have an arc 400.4 and an older cadence ZRS-4. These are the drivers that I have http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-352 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=277-035 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-376 I need help with crossover points. One of my latest ideas was to ditch the tweeter and run the full range higher. (Is it possible to have it play that high, or a bad idea?) I know that I'm probably leaving out vital information but hopefully I've listed enough to get started. Thanks, Rick
  3. Agreed, buy two. Then you will know how much of a drop you are having in between the front and the back.

Is there something similarly priced that would play a bit higher without giving up a ton of mid bass?

    Help with my front stage.

I'm looking for some large format soft domes that would pair up with these http://www.diycable....products_id=538 How high can I cross them in the door? I'm set on locations and the tweeter will be in the a pillar or in the door right under the window. Which ever works best. The woofer will be in my door. Stefan what are you running?

God I wish we had a good place to get fresh seafood here in the desert. The best place that I have found is costco.

    Help with my front stage.

My doors are about as deadened as they can be. They are pretty much sealed. I'm beginning to think the whole active thing isn't worth it for my goals.

Loud with decent mid bass. I really don't like any metal tweeter that I have heard, I prefer soft dome. That's pretty much it.

    Help with my front stage.

Hey, I appreciate the effort you've put into the thread and not freaking and getting all defensive when I asked if you'd sell what you bought. That isn't easy to take. To make you feel better, for my sunroom I bought some RS225's as well to mate with a RS28 since I've seen it done. Well, pretty much that ain't gonna happen. You'd have to be seriously lucky to get an RS28 that'll play low enough to do that...mine didn't pass so I sold the 225's. Yeah I have nobody to blame but myself. I ALWAYS do research before I buy anything, this time I didn't. I was kind of expecting this thread to go the way it has but I was hoping I could use some of the equipment. I shot an email over to parts express to see if I can get store credit, which if I can I will have a little more money to work with. I bought the tweeters used so I'm s.o.l. on them unless I can sell them.

I guess I'll do some more reading, and try this again. Any suggestions within my budget preferably in the door. Thanks for your help so far, I was hoping you would chime in.

What exactly do you mean by this? Say I have 200 to spend. Should I get new mids and tweeters and go active, or just get a damn component set?

I can't keep the tweeter and get different mid woofers?

My original plan was to use the amps crossovers and the hu. That plan is gone, two way it is which I guess means different equipment.

I'd rather do a solid two way any way. And a door installation would be my preference.

Clearly I'm in over my head. I'm not opposed to selling and switching but I can't imagine that they would be easy to sell. Since I decided to sit on them for 3 months I doubt PE would let me exchange them but I'll send them an email and cross my fingers.
