    SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks

    Congrats Steve!
  2. If you put your subs in his vehicle, then the difference is easily attributable to nothing more than differences in vehicle acoustics. If you liked the way it performed in his vehicle better, then either design an enclosure that performs better in your vehicle or purchase the same vehicle he has to drive around in instead. Without more information about how your electrical system is actually performing, we can't tell you anything about whether or not your electrical is performing up to par. Exactly what I was getting at.
  3. Did you put your subs in his car, or leave them in your car?
  4. What subs do you have? Why do you want more power? What does your electrical system consist of?

    Austin863's X-WAGON Build

Sounds like an easy choice to me.

    Austin863's X-WAGON Build

Did you like your single Gcon better sealed or ported?

    Get to work!
  9. On a meter it might make a minute difference.
  10. 34.75 vs. 36 would most likely be an undetectable audible difference.
  11. I personally would, but in the end it is your call.
  12. He's doing a side port. The external width of the box is 40.5" - 0.75" - 0.75" = 39" The port length would be 36". Why wouldn't 36" fit in 39"? So if his port was 38" long he would still not have to bend it? but he would have 3.75" left open to the port entrance. You don't think that's enough? I always try to bend at the port width if possible. 3.75 should be enough but I would still bend at 34.75. I know with aero ports people say half of the port width, but that is a minimum and I always try to use more if possible. Would your way sound any different than my way, maybe not. It is just how I have always done things and I was curious as to see when you would draw the line and bend it.

subs for a single cab f-150

A 3 inch port is far too small.

Upload it to photo bucket, then use the "img code".

2-2.25 would be fine, just make sure you use the right amount of port area, and you will be set.
  17. Am I missing something Stefan?
  18. Yes it would have to bend, but even at 34.25 it should bend.

subs for a single cab f-150

Probably won't be much of a difference if any. And the Icon would be just fine in a 2 cubic foot enclosure.

The single Icon would sound awesome and get plenty loud. The Sa 10s might get slightly louder due to the increased cone area but the Icon wins the sq battle.

Wired SSA Icon 12 to 200w(4 ohms) today...

Yep I have to agree with everyone, glad you guys are liking your subs!
  23. ricksi30

    Which subs

I'd still run my XCON's if I had 750 to spend on subs
  24. ricksi30

    Which subs

Way more information is needed. Goals? Power available? Space? What does the rest of the system consist of? Can you build your own enclosure?
