And in my opinion a single 8" aero is not enough with that much power.
-
Yes so what would that be "equal" to in terms of slot port area? Also how come you don't think I could fit it on the face?? What is the outer diameter of the port flare that you are looking at?
-
An 8" aero is 50.24.
-
You can get away with a bit less but not even close to half. Regardless I doubt that you could even fit an 8" aero on the face of your enclosure.
-
With the space you have I would do something like this.
-
Sure if you want to spend twice as much money it would work great. How much power are you going to run? How many and what size? I know that you were thinking one 15 or two 12's right?
-
How much what?
-
You have made it clear that you want a sub that gets loud and sounds great too, the Bl will do that. I'd focus more on a nice enclosure.
-
The enclosure will play a much bigger role on how it sounds than the sub itself. If I were you I would get the Bl. I have been following all of your threads here and over at CAF and I can almost guarantee that the Bl will be perfect for you. ShawnFleming is his user name.

You are kind of on the small side as far as space is concerned. If I were you I would probably just use dowel bracing to reduce the amount of volume that it takes up.
-
Where are you getting .75 for bracing?
-
Yes...What are your max dimensions?
-
That is nowhere near enough port area.
-
Ask your questions here, if we can't answer them at least Shawn will see them.

That amp will do ~1400 at 4 ohms. Try wiring it to 4 ohms.
-
Email the address that I posted above and ask if Shawn would mind giving you a call. I'm not sure how they deal with that kind of stuff.

The Q and the Sp4 are very different drivers. If you would like to hear some first hand experience with both, ask Swift.

That is a shitload of power for a Q. Can you post a pic of the sub and how it is wired? What does your electrical consist of? HOW did you set the gain? What head unit do you have?
-
True true.
-
And less cone area .... You can beat him Tim!
-
How did you set the gain? What are your head unit settings? What coil configuration, and what is it wired to? Can you provide a photo of how it is wired? Is the enclosure 100% seaIed? I know that I have asked a lot of questions but it will help narrow things down.

I'm glad that you are doing better, I'll be looking forward to some numbers!

Those look awesome btw.

FINALLY an update!
