i scored a shirt and about 2 dozens of Fi stickers when i met steve meade at the WF in san mateo. the rule was, if you can handle a demo from steves hoe without chittin your pants, the shirt was FREE. looks like i left there fresh and clean. Fi was rocking the joint.

Fi audio is the chit. i see alot of posts asking "will the BL 18" handle more then 1000 watts? well, im pushing my BL 18" 3 times that. running a powerbass xa-3000d @ 1 ohm. 3k rms daily, and the BL lol. 1 FI BL 18 loaded $339. powerbass xa-3000d $599. hitting a 145db on music.......................PRICELESS
-
birthsheet and benched test at 3175 rms @ 1 ohm. dont hate!
-
if your more in too rock then rap, and it has to be a 18". go with the ssd. if you need a little more performance in the spl range, get the bl, but 1300 watts might not be enough. close call.

im running 2k each with no problems. 1k will do just fine as well

what can this amp really do with (2) fi bl 18"s? overated or underated?
-
regardless if the hifonics amps are chit or not. if you plan on running the amp @ 1 ohm, you need to get the dual 2 ohm sub. answered your thread, on to the next.

i have a 01 saturn L300 4 door. i pulled the back seats out and throw a bl 18" back there. now, im going to be getting another bl 18". this time the 2 will be in the trunk. how should i have the subs firing and where should the port be located. (firing). the backseats will remain out for my amp rack.

im going to wall it now. what tips can you guys offer me. would i be @ 145-149 db's on music with 2 bl 18"s and RF T40001BD?

UPDATE: installed a second battery( stock, same as front 675 cca) today with no insolator. with one battery, i got a low 10.7 out of 14.4 volts. since i installed the second battery, the lowest i get is @ 12.7 - 13.5 volts when hitting bass. i can tell that my amp is staying strong the whole time. battery and parts...$150. installing time....3 hrs. 143db.... PRICELESS
-
thinking about running a second battery in the trunk. i was told there are two ways of doing this. 1, using a isolator and 2, running the + from the front battery all the way to the second battery and then ground out the negitive. are these both true? what should i do?
-
thanks again. i will run a second battery in the trunk with no isolator, using my stock alt and front battery. i'll let you know how it went after the install.
-
another thing, will running a second battery without the isolator overload my stock alt? 2001 saturn L300

thanks for the fast response fellas. shops like to try selling you things you just dont need. I can aways count on my Fi crew. this is for all the shops that dont know what the BIG 3 is......

I just got recently turned on to Fi and got a BL 18 loaded. People freak out when I slam my BL. They want to know all about the Fi product. Fi is kind of like drama, give it a while, everyone will know about it! LOL
-
do yourself a little favor, same somemore money and get what you want. dont settle for less. you wont be happy with it. all you will do later is sell the amp to upgrade if you can find a buyer. trust me. TAKE YOUR TIME.

like they say"bigger is better" you'll get better SQ and more SPL if you run them ported. sealed? never liked! to answer your ? Q's over p3's.

i have had NO problems with my RF T1001BD. plus, refurb is like half the retail $. -
got my FI bl 18" metered today @ 141.1 db on music with a single stock battery. i dropped down to about 137.0 db within 10-15 secs. will a second battery give me a lesser or greater then a 141.1 db? going to fix box as well. (baffle, bracing, rounding off, ect.)
-
my RF T1001BD pushes my bl 18 with no problem. i have the p chamber and flatwind coil options. get the bl loaded. the amp will kick the sub to its limits.
-
i barrowed the cd for the announcer. stock battery, dont know the size. stock alt. amp.... RF T1001BD @ 1ohm

this is a hard one. if your going to be a basshead for life, you should let the big subs choose your car selection if you know what i mean. but, if your more in the car chose then spl, do what you need to do. as far has trunk space for at least 8cu. thats still your call. i have a 4 door with a trunk and i placed my 18" bl in 7.5 cu. encloser, stripped the back seats out, and mounted the box back there because my trunk is too small. and i have no rattling either. finally, buy a car that will fit your personal needs along with the system needs.
-
you'll notice that the sub will be very stiff out of the shipping box. stiff were that you can barely press it down. what i did to my bl 18" was after it was installed, i played music that had bass at half volume for 2-3 hours. i then slowly increased the volume and played tests tones. now, check the flex of the sub by pressing down on it. if it moves freely and easy like the wack kicker subs straight out of the box, it should be broken in.
-
Well, I ordered my BL 18" on Monday, 5 days later............yippee! Super fast order. Thanks to the whole gang at FI. BTW... Ive never seen a stiffer sub. gotta love it!
