SSA GCON 10" vs FI SSD for sealed

The $230 I'd pay for the Fi SSD10 shipped is the most I'm willing to spend.
  2. I'm in the market for a 10" sub and only have space for a sealed box (will be fiberglassing to use otherwise wasted space). Been out of the car audio game for a few years and there's a lot more choices these days than I remember. So here goes, I have an old amp laying around that I'm planning on using and potentially upgrading the amp later on. It puts out 400-500wrms. If I upgrade later it'll probably be to something in the 800-1k range. I don't feel the need to go any higher. Any suggestions here to go SSA or FI (with the high Qts option for sealed)? Both subs are somewhat in the same price range.

    Fi Q10 in a 350Z?

Is the Q10 even a good option considering the small cabin space in the Z? Will I be able to utilize it to its fullest potential?

    Fi Q10 in a 350Z?

giving up some output is fine as long as quality goes up. The 350Z is a hatchback so the sub will be in the same compartment, which is very small to begin with, so I think that will make up for at least some of the output loss. The 15 was in the trunk of a large sedan and had no airflow directly to the driver cabin, and was too loud for my taste.. or maybe it was too boomy. I think I just missed having a sealed box.

Class D = crappy FM reception

how is your antenna connected to your HU? was it a direct plug in or did you have to use a converter? also make sure your power antenna wire is hooked up even if your antenna doesn't have a motor, it is most likely amplified to get better reception. When I had my Altima the antenna was in the rear windshield and needed the power lead connected to get most stations with no interference

    METAL

for metal I always liked hearing big and beefy mids with a sealed SQ oriented sub. There may be some low notes in there that you never knew existed

ground on the antenna like ANeonRider said or it could also be a bad amp ground, one or the other. Does sound like a grounding issue though.

    hey from NJ

I could say hay but NJ isn't exactly farm country, except the southern part but we don't consider that NJ anyways I can't believe I was a member for almost a year and never posted here....

    Fi Q10 in a 350Z?

I got a 350Z recently and I'll be redoing the entire sound system using mostly parts I had from prior systems that I took apart years ago. Long story short I'll be building a fiberglass corner box, sealed, about 0.5 cuft and I can put a 10" sub in there. The FiQ10 seems to fit the bill with the limited space I have and the amp I have laying around (Directed 1100d, used it to power an RE SX15 that I need to sell still) So I'm guessing the Q10 with BP Power just to be safe and I should be good, right? Front stage is going to be CDT M6i components (M6 mids, DRT26 silk tweets, EX-560 crossover i *THINK*) in door pods that I'm gonna make, tweets probably in stock location., powered by ed 9.4 (i know, i know, no need to rip me) but I do have the amp laying around so why not use it question is, being that I liked the SX15 when I used it except that it was too loud and the SQ was way missing, will the Q10 make me happy?
