I can help you design a box for it, perfect specs. Just give me 24 hours (I have school)

oh yeah, good point. Get a used SA-12, or 2 used SA-8 subwoofers, then just go crazy Whatever you decide to go with, make sure you tune everything correctly. Nothing worse then blowing brand new subwoofers because you didn't take the time to tune it right.

...its...soo....beautiful. When the time comes, you will be mine

okay, if thats what you prefer than all power to you. If possible, you should show me a video of what those 15s can do. I am looking at the best 15s for the money and sundown and DC look pretty good

Its recommended that you use 2 cubic feet for a sealed level 3 15 inch. If your going ported its recommended that you use 3 cubic feet. If possible I would go ported, much more output, since your using 2 15s I would try port it to get your moneys worth out of it. Trust me I understand the issue with trunk space, I found a cure to it tho. I am using two, separate ported boxes. This allows me MUCH more room, but im not sure about your trunk.

about 2 cubic feet per chamber if you are going sealed

This is the first idea, if theres nothing wrong with this idea then were good to go. My second option was putting the port on the side of the sub, but can you see now how it would be slanted down, im not sure how to calculate that and it would be harder to build. But I mainly want to know if this picture is okay? Anything might be a problem?

Okay, so I have very little room to work with, and needed help on how to port a wedge box. I have 2 designs I can use for the port, both are using the same box. Width: 15 inches. Height 1 (front): 12.5 Inches Height 2 (back) 7 inches Depth: 18 inches total volume (using 3/4 inch think wood) = 1.06348 cubic feet. So one idea is to place the port under the sub which is the eaisiest. 13.5 inches long, half an inch tall, 14.5 inches of port space (32hz tuned) ^ I need to know if theres anything wrong with this idea? The 2nd idea, which is more complicated, is placing the port on the side of the box. I have no idea how to calculate such a slant. Would the 1st option be eaiser? PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO CHANCE THE SIZE OF THE BOX. (There will be 2 of these boxes placed beside each other in a small trunk.

Its just a regular vented box, so the port is on the inside. I will try to post pictures later

Each box will hold a sundown E-10 on 400rms

Well, for your amp, neither. you might be able to get away with a sd-12 on that amp, but still that’s pushing it too far. You would really have to gain down and watch how far you turn up your volume. I would recommend getting a weaker amp. As far as the subs go I would go with a single 12 inch over the 8s. It has a bit more cone area and it’s easier to work with. If you really want to work with that amp, I would save a little bit more money and get an SA-12, it would handle your amp as long as you tune everything correctly and don’t overdo it. This would be your best option.

E8vs is an 8 inch sub E-10 is the bigger 10 inch sub. There are both the same classs of sub, just different sizes. a single E wont take 1400 rms well. There rated at 400 rms 3 or 4 might sound allot better on that same amp. a 1400 rms rated amp will tear that sub up

10...maybe 11, possibly 12 years... lol jk. What sub was it???

My current setup is in a 2000, mustang convertible. Very little room. I am using 2 seperate boxes at about 1 cube sealed. I have a kicker 750.1 amp, powering two 10 inch CVRs. My question is, what can I drop in that will sound better? Of course the cvrs are loud, but after I tuned them there just not where I would like. I am looking for a cheap replacement. I may be able to sell the cvrs to some friends to help with cost. I'm looking at the Sundown E-10, so Skar IVX 10 Would an upgrade be worth if it, if so, what subs should I get? In short: 750-800rms, 1 cube sealed (each), daily use. What to get?

So... I just ordered 2 e-10s for a total of $170... And im selling my current subs and my old amp i domt use for $200... So yeah. Im happy. And my friend is going to make me custom boxes for free. Im a little confused on the port, because its wedge shaped, i dont know how to calcute the tuning frequency if its a wedge, help?

my friend suggest today, getting sound dampening material. All of my trunk is covered in carpet, except the actual opening part... which my subs face only a few inches away. He suggested I should cover up that part and it will increase my SPL. (I do indeed have quite a bit of trunk rattle) I dont need all to much, but I thought this was a good idea. What parts of my trunk should I cover up?

I'm not a fan of JL. Not sire about that one specifically but if never been supporting of JL. I'd like a sub around $100. So far the incrimonator I series, kicker CompR, and sundown E are my top choices if I even decide to switch after I get new boxes.

Im just going to get 2 seperate custom ported boxes made. im going to make them as big as possible with room for the amp in the middle, so 1-1.5 cubes each, tuned around 35hz. If that does quite cut it il just give up and wait till my next car. And as for the SD-10s, I dont see the point in spending that much more for th power handeling, the E-10s already handle more than I could give them in clean power. I might eventually put in some E-10s even if they wont give me more output like some people are saying, I would rather have sundown than these kickers. DONT GET ME WRONG, there great subs, just not my fave

Yeah I agree, and trust most of these people as well. I'm just looking for answeres. I'm on my own 2nd set up after if tweaked and moved everything to its number one. And compared to my first every set up this is 10x better. I was just wondering if I could make 1 final change it get complete happiness with my system. If porting and switching to 12s will do what I want then in do it, but I'm not so sure ot will based on these answers. I'm looking for a yes or no right now. I want a little more volume, and a little more low end output. Sq wouldn't be bad either. So would ported 12s or even 10s make me happy?

I feel lime that not right... Cause facing my Su s in different places all e gave me a huge increase, a new amp bumped it up way more, I think of I port them in get better output. The tops up is better bass than most people think. What if i port so sundown e12s? You can't tell me that won't get me some better output. At least add to the low in.
