Nick,, i can take pics of my car and my set up if u want, the only reason i notice that is when my sub stoped working and i had to pull it out of the enclosure becuase of a tinsel lead that broke from its base but i soldered it back, i wasnt gonna send it back for warranty just for that since i have a soldering gun easy job to do but yeah i looked further in and i saw the spider like that thats why im here. thanks and if u could nick can i get rid of the extreme tinsel leads? it doesnt matter if i have to pay for that thanks a lot.

the spider came apart all arround and it seems to be tearing close to the cone and i dont wanna put glue 2inches thick from the cone the would make the sub imposible to move thanks for ur comments though.

hi its me again, i currently have a bl15 great sub, Ive seen people seem to like more the 18 inch subs better than 15" are 18 that much better, i see they need a big box but would the output be that much better if yes what percentage increase do you guys think i can get with a 18". Now my other question how can i make a box for one that is going to be in my caddy devilles trunk i cant go higher than 19 inches tall for the box and i dont think i would make it becuase the sub is 18" plus box material .75, so can i make a box facing up and port facing to the back of the trunk?? would that sound good in a car?? thanks again and comments are apreciated.

so is 2-3 db increase a big difference?? is it worth changing my fully loaded fi bl15 for a fully loaded fibl18?? whats everyone here thinks. thanks scott.

hi, im in the process of making another box mdf wood, my question is i dont know if they sell mdf wood 1" thick but if they do, is it better to buy a thicker mdf wood per say 1" is better than 3/4???

im trying to do the same thing, is it better just to buy a yellow top battery or to get another auto parts battery like my stock and put it in the trunk??? what would be the good of adding a second battery without an isolator?? do both batteries have to be the same size cause ive heard that if one is biger than the other both can drain each other is that true??

my bro bought one once, it was ok i guess it was making a beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee noise coming from the inside of the amp, so now i would not buy refurbished amps i would rather buy a used but not refurbished.

hello everyone, can someone tell me how to tune a subwoofer box or knows of a good online calculator thats is acurate??? i need a box for two fi bl15' s i got 43 inches wide and 18h to play with in my trunk. i have a rockford fosgate t215 sitting here next to me now. before a met my fibl15 i thougt t215 was the best sub out there on the market, very well desinged but after putting my fibl15 in the same box same amp i was like wow it gets louder than my t2 so im getting another bl15 and I AM A sell the rockford, to be hones i never tought the bl15 would sound better than my t2 since it weighted a lot less was a lot smaller i really was disaponted when i saw my fi its nothing compare to my t2 but after i tryed it i liked it and im keeping it, buying another one like it and selling my t2 great sub fi. now i just need a good calculator to make my box, whats a good tunning frequency for bl15?? i listen mostly rap so lots of bass please help.

yes i will, i will be using mdf wood netx time i make another box i just found interesting what this above article said, especialy with everybody here saying that particle wood is a peace of sh** material to use, i searched about this cause my power enclosure for my t215d2 rockford 3.25 cu ft net particle wood sounds great and ive never had enyproblem at all for almost a year.

my point is that everyone here says not to use anything that isnt mdf woood,,, as u see the artilce says the particle board plywood and mdf are good material to build a box, and everyone here says nothing but mdf wood.... thank you very much

OK I FOUND THIS SEARSpeaker Box Construction Speaker boxes can be made of anything rigid enough to not vibrate and cause losses or distortion; the most common materials are Plywood, Particleboard, and MDF. Plywood is more impervious to water and probably the strongest and lightest, but Particle board and MDF being much denser have (possibly) better sonic properties, and MDF makes the nicest looking boxes and is easy to work with

yes but why???? i tought if an amp doenst have enough juice to suck from it just shutts off. ok do i need an alt or a better battery??? my stock alt is 140 amps

fry??? that dont make sence,,,, ive heard an amp can fry from too much voltage but not from low voltage. Ok since I AM A be running 1800 rms i have a 140 amp alt, should i replace the alt or get a yellow battery?? im kida low on money right now so i can only do one of the two.

resuts from two different subs,,,,,,, i just finished putting both my subs and amps in and installed, and it sounds really good i dont see no bass cancelation, now my windshield shakes pretty good i like it the only problem now is my electrical system it sucks I AM A be upgrading it prety soon.

i think you didnt read this but i cut 3 inches from the depth of the box now it does closes, my cu ft went down though now its only 2.95 cu ft after sub and port displacement, i will try and let you all know what happens i could not do double buffle becuase of the space in my trunk ooo well i will try it tomarrow.

there it is my finished work I AM A try this box first and if dont like it i have a friend that needs a box and I AM A sell it to him, I AM A try it first to see how it does if it does good i keep it if not sold. i will have videos pretty soon.

There is quite a difference between 3 cubic feet and 4 cubic feet. Generally speaking, the smaller the enclosure is, the less efficient it becomes and the more low frequency performance you give up. Going from 4 cubes to 3 cubes is quite a big difference, especially for 15" subs. Also, it becomes harder to tune the port to a low frequency: if we assume the same cross sectional area of the port, a longer length is required to achieve the same tuning as the enclosure becomes smaller. Not sure exactly what you're asking with the second question, but MDF is not particularly expensive. You can get whole 4' x 8' sheets of 3/4" MDF for less than $20, and that would certainly be a step in the right direction. OK THANKS MAN, well my box is now 3 cu ft do u think that is enough for a fi bl15??? or should i make my box to 4 cu ft thanks for ur help.
