No amp really selected yet and I am open to that. I just hear great things about each and was curious as to what divides them. I am also not sure as to if i want to run 4 10's sealed or 2 12's ported....unfort now i am even lookin at a BTL 15 ported. This is for a show car and several people have brought it to my attention a ported 15 isn't seen to ofter, i may be interesting. Plus i could make it look really nice, so that is not an option. The problem with your great subs are that there are to many great choices and options.

Cool, thanks Scott.

So, never owning a car in my life, I am getting my first one very soon....big change from trucks and SUVs. I love SPL and am not entirly sure what to do. I was planning on either doing 2 12" Q's ported or 1 12" BTL ported, this is gonna have to be a tough decision for myself. If you have an opinion on what you would prefer, go ahead, be nice to know what other people think. But here is what I need to know also, which way should the subs and port face? They will be going in the trunk of course. Is it correct in saying that the bigger the box is, the smaller the ports need to be and vice versa or no? Just heard this the other day. Any advice at all as well as the answers would be great. THanks

I love every Dodge I ever owned. Besides, Chrysler may be affiliated with Dodge, but they don't really touch them. Kinda like how Dell computers suck, but they own AlienWare who is one of the best manufacturers. Or even Ford, love Fords, but they own Jaguar....which are little POS cars that break down moment the warranty even gets close to expiring. Wow, my wife was arguing that 4 10's would not come close to winnin this poll and so far they have every vote. And it is a trunk install, much like all the ones you see in magazines. Probably baffled off, plexiglass here and there, and some red neons to make it glow.
-
yeah, i screwed up, was supposed to be a poll. when i get time i will try to redo it.
-
These are what I am currently debating to put in a Dodge Charger SRT. It will be made into a show car, so the way it sounds is very important. but it is not meant mearly for competitions. All of them will be set up nicely with plexiglass and such, much like what can be seen magazines like Performance Sound and Auto.

I will have to get those measurements soon. I know it is a butt load of room, dodge charger. Honestly, probably the biggest trunk i have ever seen. But i will post measurements soon.
-
Just for my own clarification, what exactly are the benifits of an 8. I have heard of people usin them for mids....is that right? I have never even seen one, so am curious.
-
Man, I guess i will have to do the weight of bigger rims unlike what i wanted. You said it to a T elegant. A friend of mine brought his charger into town with 22's, and they looked like my girls 20's. so i may want to go with at least 22's.
-
So I will be picking up one of these bad boys very soon and have no clue what to do for the system. Know i want FI obviously. I wanna know what you would pick, basically a poll minus the poll. I would love to hear any opinions on just about anything. Thanks.
-
Thanks Scott, that was exactly what I was lookin to find out. My opinion and idea to go with the BTL still stands. I had a friend who gave me some box plans you sent him for a single 12" BTL install in a 300, which is about the same size trunk as my charger. So I will probably do something along those lines...thanks.

I know I will be going with a 12" BTL ported in my trunk. I am just curious about how the BTL compares to the MX. I heard a MX today and it was pretty cool, still hear better things about the BTL regardless. Both are super sexy subs.....and the BTL kills it in price. So, all in all, how do the two compare....SPL, SQ, or even LSQ?
-
So I take it the MX is made more for SQ whereas the BTL throws out a bunch load of SPL. That is pretty much what I was lookin for, I wanna try and compete in some small categories....
-
I really do hate asking this question, but I am curious. I only really see everyone running 15's and 18's, not 12's. Does anyone know how the 12" BTLs sound?? Or at that size would it be better to go with a BL or Q?
-
ERRRRRRR.....every time I think I make up my mind, a wise person puts in his 2 cents and changes my mind.
-
As of right now, I am lookin at both the BL and Q. I think I like more SPL, so I may push for the BL. The BTL is great and all, but I think in order to do one of those, I would have to lose something I want somewhere, if that makes any sense at all to ya...like it would add a nice amount of weight due to being a good bit larger in build size than a BL, amp size, power requirements, etc. The box builds are the same size, so I will see when the time comes....but the BL is probably more up my alley....love that itch from vibrations.....

I just wanted to give props to FI. I have been reading lots of various magazines involving cars and have never really seen FI anywhere. Yesterday I picked up the new copy of Car Audio Magazine and long behold, one of the champion SPL competitors was in it showin his 4 18" BTLs which he hit over 180dbs with. Nice to see them in a magazine and getting some attention. I am sure this will cause a small flood of people who never heard of ya to become more interested. CONGRATS!!

Scott Owens hit 181.something Mike Bartells has hit 180.something a few times as well with Fi BTL's

LOL! Always loved the morbid screen names. Xibalba, in the Hindu religion, are the gates to hell.

Right now in my truck I have a ported enclosure with 2 12" Rockford P3's, 500 watts each. I am new, so to me this is really nice and loud....actually produces a decent amount of SPL, made my rearview mirror fall off a couple times. Anyway, do you think 2 12" or 15" Q's sealed can compete if not beat these. I know they will kill the P3's in SQ, but I dont wanna lose all my SPL. I keep reading these things throw out a nice amount even sealed. THANXXX
-
I think I will give ported a try. I was originally make it show car quality and do an extremely nice sealed enclosure, but the hell with it....I will just try and do an extremely nice ported enclosure. Got a lot of planning for sizes though. Nice name by the way, Vlad. Is that a normal nickname or are you kind of a horror movie fan?
-
Yeah. It said he has hit 180 a couple times...and there are only about 4 or so people to ever hit in the 180's.
-
I figured I would, esp since I hear so many great things about them. Now is my own debate of ported vs sealed. I guess that all comes down to how much room I will have in the trunk. I am sure 12's will fit easily ported, but gotta measure, hope for 15's....always wanted a 15.
-
I love odd rims....need to stand out somewhere, always rims for me. I love Martin Bros Rims esp, so that is what I will more than likely put on it. That or something form my second fav rim company, MOB.
-
IS THERE REALLY!! SWEEEETTTTT!!! I havent dug to far into the trunks yet. God I cant wait!!! I will try and take as many pics as possible. As previously stated about the rims.....I want 24's, but since I am getting the SRT solely for its performance abilities, I think 24's will be way to heavy and greatly hinder acceleration and overall performance. I will probably get some 18's or so....but I will hit you up. Will probably sell the stock rims, dont need them laying around takin up room.
