Hi guys, I just receive my Power Master Batteries 2x D3100 which will be installed each side in the trunk and 1x D5100 in the front not installed yet because i've cut the trunk floor which i will modified it so i can get more room for an ported box and to hold the 2x D3100, but I'm looking for an shop to do that job (steel job and welding) And for wires I'm thinking of 4x runs of 1/0 gauge KnuKonceptz from front to the D3100's in the back, 2 runs for each D3100's and from there 1x 1/0 awg and 1x 4awg for 1x MD-21 and 1x MD3D at each sides. And i've installed my Ohio Gen Alt. which is 230A at 14.2 Volt (dyno sheet) it came with a external voltage regulator, and i set the regulator at max to see what voltage I'm seeing and it put out 15.92Volts now what do you guys think, should i let the voltage there at 15.92 volt, I was thinking at 15-15.5Volt or lower? will it still be ok for my Equipments? As for Audio equipment they are RE Audio and USAmps and it seems that the Amps max voltage is 16volt. they are 2x USAmps MD-3D, 2x USAmps MD21, 4x RE SX 12" d4 and 8x RE RE 6.5 Comp Set. I've talked with Greg@ USAmps and he said that the MD-3D will put out about 2200wrms at 1ohm so I'm thinking to set my gains for a total of 4400Wrms for the subs and like 400wrms for the components thus ~4800 Wrms of total power. will this be enough power for this setup? or should i put another Ohio Gen 230A? i can do it, but i have to take the AC out and set them at 15-15.5 Volts. or just one Alt is more than enough? And here's a link you can see the cut out trunk floor. http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n47/Aruman/ Anyways thanks.

Do you guys think that a 200a Idle and 260a Max( Ohio Gen) will be enough for 2x USAmps MD-3D and 2x USAmps MD21? and for batteries 1x Power Master D5100R in the front and 2x Power Master D3100 in the back, that's the biggest Ohio can make in the GM Large case CS-144 Alt. so what do you guys think, will it be enough? Thanks.

yes guys, as the title says's how in your opinion would you brace this box? here's a link since i can't post pics here: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/487885.html

Hey guys recently i've got my new equipments which consist of US Amps/RE Audio 2x US Amps MD21 2x US Amps MD-3D 4x RE 6.5Comp Set 4x RE SX 12" Dual 4ohms As for electrical I'm planning a 250 or 300a Ohio Gen and for Batteries 1x Power Master D5100R under the hood and 2x Power Master D3100 in the back close the the amps.( the amps and batts will be at each side of the trunk) Now I was wonder which would be the best way to wired the amps and the batteries, plan A or B? plan A. first i was thinking to put each MD-3D on each Power Master D3100 and 2x 1/0 awg wire for each battery (from front to the back), and the two MD-21 hooked up to the front battery (the Power Master D5100R) and 2x runs of 4Awg wire, thus 1x 4awg for each MD-21 the MD-21 will also be in he trunk installed, so total I will have to run 6x wires from the front to the back 4x 1/0Awg and 2x 4Awg. Plan B But now I was thinking to use each Power Master D3100 for a MD-3D and a MD-21 and the other D3100 for the other two Amps thus sharing each batts for the amps, and for wires I'll be running 4x 1/0Awg from front to the back and from there I'll use shorter 4awg wires for the MD-21's, so saving some wires now what do you guys think which one will be the best plan A or B ,thus saving some wires and sharing the batts or let the D3100 for the Subs Amps only? will it be ok or i will loose power sharing the batteries? anyways thanks.

yes guys, has anyone tried the RE SX 12" in 1.75ft^3 tuned at 33-34Hz? how will it sound on the lows, and the SPL? how you compare it against it in a 2.0ft^3 box tuned at 35hz will the 2.0ft^3 @35Hz play lower and louder than it in the 1.75ft^3 @ 33-34Hz Box, even that the smaller box is tuned lower? On RE sites they recommend 1.5ft^3 @35Hz and 2.0ft^3 @ 33Hz why is this? isn't the bigger box better for the lows, so why tune it so low? Isn't it better to tune the 1.5ft^3 @ 33Hz to get the lows of it compare it at 35Hz and the 2.0ft^3 @ 35Hz compare it at 33Hz? this part I don't understand, I've always thought that a bigger box is better for the lows and the smaller box better for the upper Bass(SPL) so that's why I've always thought a bigger box is better to tune it higher compare to a smaller box, can anyone explain me this? And is 34hz tune a good daily freq for rap/ rock and every kind of music and SPL, will it play low enough, louder and punchy Bass? Thanks.

Hey guys, yes, what's minimum port area i can use for 4x RE SX 12" in 8ft^3 tuned at 33hz that will sound good? I was thinking of 54in^2 of port area (6x9 )I know it's small but i've seen some car that have small port area and sound good like Steve Meade Tahoe i remember that he had like 20ft^3 and 120in^2 of port for his 4x 18" and that's like 6in^2 for every 1ft^3, and mine is like 6.75in^2, now what do you guys think, will it be ok or bad for the SPL and Port Noise? the 4x SX 12" I'm planning to power them with 2x USAmps MD-3D, now how you guys compare this sound with 4x DD3512e power by 2x DD Audio M3? In both SPL and SQ will the SX's be close, or will the SX's win or will the DD's destroy them. Should i go with the DD's or the SX is a good choice? Anyways thanks, Aruman.

Hey guys what are the real Dimensions ofthe 2007 US Amps Merlin Series? I'm interested in the MD-3D and the MD-21 but since i'm tight on space i wanna know the real Dimensions before i buy. Here on SSA I've seen that the MD-21 WxHxD is 7.9 x 2.5 x 8.75, on www.woofersetc.com I've seen it the same, but on their website it is WxHxD is 10.5 x 2.5 x 10.75.(now what?) The MD-3D here on SSA it is ?? x 2.5 x 8.75 WxHxD the W is unknow( wich in my case it's very important), on WoofersEtc.com it is WxHxD: 13.8 x 2.5 x 8.75 and on their WebSite it is WxHxD: 21.75 x 2.5 x 10.5, now I'm very confused and i realy need to know the real dimension mainly the W(L) thus how long they are, so if I will be able to fit them in my car, can anyone help me here, does anyone have the real Dimension of the 2007 US Amp MD-21 and the MD-3D? Anyways thanks, Aruman.

Yeah, HBD AB.

ok, thanks M5

Would a RE SX 15" do well in a 2.0-2.5ft^3 Ported Enclosure tuned at like 33-35Hz, how would it sound, good or bad? RE recommends 3ft^3 as compact, but I've read on Tempro that a guy

thanks ///M5 So lets say i put 4x RE SX 15" in an 10ft^3 total ported enclosure tuned at like 32-33Hz thus giving each 2.5ft^3 (not recommend by RE, RE recommend min 3ft^3) and i put 4x RE SX 12" in an 8ft^3 ported tuned at 32-33hz giving each 2ft^3 (this is well recommed by RE) will the the 12's outperform the 15's in Low Freq's and output? or will the 15's be louder at the higher freguenies since they are in a small ported box that is more peak? thanks.
-
Thanks Acidburn, so even if i tuned it like 30-32Hz will it still lack in the bottom frequencies, so it doesn't worth the try? because I've read on termpro a guy put 4 of the RE SX 12" in 1.25 ported and he say it sounded good and was loud, that's i was thinking of the RE SX 15" in like 2 or 2.5ft^3 tuned at like 32-34Hz.

so the 4x RE SX 12"setup will be a better choice compare with the 4x RE SE 12" for real loud daily driving?
-
Hi guys, what's the highest number (TL)you've seen with 4x RE SE 12" ported playing music? and if you know, what was the tuning freq and power? thanks.
-
Thanks Denim, yes, i have looked at FI, SSA Icon, DD also, but one of the reason I choose RE is because they are as good as the other brands I've mention but the main reason is that I'm going with like 70% performance and 30% look and I'm not a much fan of boobs cone subs, that's the reason I'm planning RE. And yes I'm willing to give up my entire trunk, as a matter of fact, I already did. This car will not be my car to go to work and stuffs like that. it's more to hang around with, and sometimes when there is carshows and caraudio comps.( the car is not finish yet) I want a system that is a lot louder than what i have right now(4x MTX 7500 12" Sealed) that's why i was thinking RE Audio(4x RE SE's or SX's 12" Ported) Also is it true that the RE SX 12" come also in dual 4 ohm, or is it a special order? wich are some good amps for 4x RE SX's? Anyways thanks, Aruman.

Bump.

Thanks guys, I want a real loud daily driving, something that is realy loud to the ear, can meter decent (I know....trunk car) and sound good doing it, and also with good lows. I was thinking about the 4x RE SE 12" portted in 6.0- 6.5ft^3 tuned at 34-35 Hz powered by 2x Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D or by 2x USAmps MD-2D. giving each 750wrms. But now I'm thinking about 4x RE SX 12" also in 6.0- 6.5ft^3 tuned at 34- 35 ported. i was thinking to power them with 2x USAmps MD-3D but since the SX are dual 2ohm it will be a problem to use those Amps, but I've heard that the SX come also in dual 4 ohms, so that's giving me a bit hope, so what do you guys think? The car is a 2001 Toyota Corolla (trunk Car) I've already had done some modification on the rear deck and the rear seats as you can see in the pics, here's the Link. And here you can see the box I'm planning to use it is Box A. here's the Link. I know it will be tight fit in that car, but I've done some calculation and with some modification i will be able to fit 4x 12" ported in there at the volume i mention before. so what do you guys think, any advise, help will be thankful. Anyways thanks, Aruman.

Hi guys, i have one question about RE Audio, with what series or model of MTX line is the RE SE's comparable to in Loudness? thanks.
-
Is it true, that it's not good the tune a box lower than the subs Fs? I always thought that you can tune a box lower than the Sub Fs, what's true about this and what happen if you tune it lower than a subs Fs? anyways, thanks.
-
OK thanks guys, so you can put a subs that have a fs of 40-45 Hz in a box tuned to like 32-34hz? will it still be able to to play those low freq without a problem?
-
Hey Ngsm since you have experience with the 7500 and 8500, how do you compare them with the RE SE in SQ and SPL?. I currently have the 7500's and I'm planning to go with SE, butt i don't know if it's worth it, Thanks.
-
No, I'm not from Florida, The car is an Toyota Corolla The reasons why sealed, is that i can't go with the 4x SE 15" ported(small car), and i like 4x subs installs and also i like the sound of sealed more, the reason why SE 15" is I've read that they can get very loud sealed in small enclosure and sound very good doing it. I know my Corolla is a small car it will be difficult to fit 4x 15's but as my calculation it seems possible. Currently i have 4x 12" sealed 4.3cuft total and I'm not using the spare tire compartment as the box, but if i go with the 4x 15's I'll have to use it so i can get like the 6.7- 7cuft i want for the 4x SE 15's, I'll see what i can do, anyways thanks for the inputs. Aruman.
