Anybody running Audiopipe amps?
liljestrand replied to turbowrx15's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have 1 ap3000.1d pushiing 2 15" xcons in a sealed box and I'm loving it. I've taken road trips that are over an hour running full tilt and this thing gets barely warm. -
So I started playing Semi-pro football starting with practices back in January, had our first game Saturday and won 28-9. Was def fun getting back out there hitting people with pads. I've done flag football leagues with friends for 4-5 years now but its just not the same as laying people out. Playing for the Portland Monarchs who are one of the top ranked teams in the nation.

Sorry bro but that's totally wrong. Ever priced an 8" W7? Yeah, nuff said. Figured some j-wad would say this!! Hahaha wasn't meaning the more you pay the better you get... If its cheap and looks cheap well then it's probably cheap!! You can keep ur monoshit RCAs, as I will keep my stinger lvl 3...... :-) Monoprice rca's are perfectly fine.

Perhaps ask tejcurrent. I saw in his build he was using aluminum

Well someone said clamps.....but yes clamps. I also sat on my box for an hour or so since I only had four clamps
-
Instead of screws I just use brad nails I think they're called. Just tiny nails to kinda hold it together. Worked great for me and you can't really tell they are there

Amplifier suggestion on a budget
liljestrand replied to ZiGGy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Op...another thing on the alts. Check what other cars share your engine if any. When I contacted dc they informed me that my xb had the same engine as the camrys so I was actually able to get a better deal. And glad your going sealed. Love my xcons sealed -

They shut down that plant before it became a problem. Living on the oregon coast I've had to deal with all the people freaking out about waves I couldn't even imagine people closer to it. -
I believe the peel and seal is asphalt based which is no good. Shoot don an email at Don"at"sounddeadenershowdown.com. replace at with @ and no quotes. He will help you figure out exactly what you need.

After our monthly crew meeting at work one of my coworkers was driving in front on me. We both ended up at the same bank and he came up laughing at me. I asked him what was up and he said he could feel my bass on his back in his truck while driving in front of me. Thought that was pretty funny with 2 15" xcons sealed.

Battery hold downs
liljestrand replied to smashedz28's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If the box you have now is too tall could you put a block of wood into it to lift the battery? Or something to raise the battery to where you want it. In my scion I cut part of the false floor storage tray and slid them into that. Then used bungie cords to secure it to the car. They don't move at all. -
Fuse, Gauge size, etc
liljestrand replied to slim142's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
They are pretty solid if you take the time to do them right. Most of the problems are people just shoving the wire in and stripping it out trying to shove it in. -

liljestrand replied to slim142's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The kompression fittings are nice imo. Kinda gotta get used to them and how to trim the wire to fit right. Also for the op. I just use a handsaw with a fine blade to cut all my big wires. -
So the wobbling problem with the car may have been water in the tires themselves from sitting outside for two years.

I would just like to state that the snow on the east side has screwed me out of a week of pay.......so it can all melt for all I care.
-
And that would be? J I dunno the receptionist just called me and let me know that they ordered some parts and it would be done wednesday. I guess I will find out tomorrow.
-
So I guess the figured out what was wrong with the car....should have it back by wednesday.
