  1. 2 15's in the cavs sedan trunk is possible I already am having my uncle help me strip and fully insulate the car along with my father is going to help me mod my trunk a bit so I can have the amps in my wheel well after I finish the insulation, which is a must. This really is just my hobby car, first car I owned and really only drive in the winter because I'm working/living back up in Mn full time now. I did remove the second set of front tweeters since it looked tacky and I heard some people saying it was overkill! So thanks really did help that little tweeter amp that came with them only was meant for 1 pair, it really improved the sound quality! Jl audio speakers wired to Jl's 4 Channel amp perfect RMS match main thing I was looking for was some good ideas ans opinions on some nice quality subs and amp you think would finish my long project. Also wondering what you guys would recommended second skin DP, mdk murdermat or dynamat? Along with this last question I can think of; what would sound better 2:15 inch Zcon subs in a box about 4.5 cubic feet or 1:18 inch Zcon in a box that would match the recommended size? both In a ported box, with 2 15's each with their own 2000d crescendo amp with the 18 also being hooked to just 1 2000d.
  2. Do you have a recommendation on an amp you would get to power 2:15 inch Zcon's? With a price range of 400-750$?
  3. Would under powering it make a difference in bass at high volumes or the sound clarity at all? 650w RMS seems like it would make a difference in sound some what?
  4. Could anyone recommend a nice quality amp that could push 2 15 inch Zcon Sub woofers? That crescendo amp someone mentioned earlier goes good with one of those subs but the next highest size is that 3850w which would be under powering the 2 subs by 325 RMS each? Would that make a significant difference with those Zcon subs if wired in parallel at 2 ohms?
  5. I know I should start a new topic to ask this question but oh well. I was curious if it would be harmful to the subwoofer if I put a 15 inch and a 12 inch subwoofer in the same ported box? 15 inch subs would be best for rap and some hip hop but if I was listening to rock or country I like the sound of a 12 inch subwoofer over a 15. I have never heard of people trying to before in a ported box, I know a 15 inch has higher air displacement cause of the 15's greater surface area so this is probably a stupid question.
  6. Very nice! They really can bump that's for sure. Thanks for showing me! Got something new to look into now.
  7. That Zcon's specs sound pretty amazing do you think it's better then Fi's 15inch bl subwoofer?
  8. If you were spending around 350-400$ per subwoofer each what kind would you get? Haha this thread got so far off topic! Didn't mean for that to happen.

  10. In all honesty I never even knew that! I was worried about ruining a new alternator after paying a bit for it! That's awesome to know though, I still don't think I would ever want more then a 3000w RMS subwoofer setup though in my car it would be just to much, thanks for the info though really helps relieve me a lot about ruining the alt though! Honestly I was worried 3500w would be to Much and kill it In the first half year like some other friends had done with other slightly cheaper alternators
  11. If all I was trying to do is get a cheap loud system I would of kept stock speakers and went to best buy and bought 4 kicker comps and a 1000w hifonics amp and would not be here asking for quality advice as well as trying to learn more about car audio systems.
  12. Yeah that's the alternator I have, the guy I talked to on the phone and had a conversation with said they normally produce a little higher than they claim on the site, mechman made a alternator for my car that was slightly higher but had a lot lower amp idle rate, along with what I read and heard from friends I just decided to go with DC, the employee I had talked too said it would handle slightly over 3500w RMS even though it was only rated for something close to 2900w RMS I can't remember the whole conversation but he had me completely sold on there alternators through the specs and advice he gave with the amazing customer support. Props to DC powers haha that's something I'll always recommend to anyone now based off the support I received!
  13. In all honesty the only systems I've had the chance to hear were friends and friends of friends and everyone seemed to enjoy there own system. So its hard to answer that, I have never had the opportunity to listen to a professionally done custom system. Although the systems I have heard all sounded great to me! Still though all I've ever been able to compare it to is how much louder smoother sharper and the clarity my current system is compared to the stock speakers that were a joke that came with the car when I first bought it ages ago, I've always gone by what sounds good to me for example I love feeling and hearing the bass while listening to rap or some hip hop, while listening to rock or country I just like a very subtle/barely noticeable amount of bass from the subs and enjoy the clarity of the rest of my system
  14. Wow very nice! I'm definitely never going to go that big my car haha I wish I had the space for that! Or a car that could fit more then 1 smaller sized alternator, DC powers had recommended that I try not to exceed 3500w RMS power draw with the alternator they sold me as it might cause its life to be substantially shorter than it should be. (Hopefully will outlast the warranty I paid for!) I never really understood the purpose of a capacitor but I have a 10 farad Rockford capacitor also installed cause I had a few people say it would be easier on my alternator which cost me almost 700$, definitely don't want that to go out sooner then it should and also heard people say it would improve the clarity of the Subwoofers! Which I always personally thought clarity was solely decided by the quality of amp and car wiring cables and the amps ground. Still a lot I would love to learn!
  15. Thanks! And in all honesty I love to hear the criticism its a learning experience for me and I'm definitely going to remove the 2 tweeters under the dash I have them wired to the same tweeter amp as the other front 2 the amp is suppose to only have 2 hooked up to it anyways so its probably not the best idea having 4 on it. I probably haven't noticed how the front tweeters should actually sound because what I have done 2 front tweeters might be better sounding, when I installed everything I just figured more sound from different areas might sound better! Lol I guess that was a beginners mistake I should have researched it a little more!
