    2008 Quad Cab Dodge Install

I have a friend with the truck above, he wants to keep the factory h/u and look. My 1st thought was a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.1 to handle that duty, buts it kind of an expensive route to take unless I pick it up off ebay or a similar place. Sub wise we're going with the Soundsplinter RL-i 8 either dual 4 or single 4, dependent on amp choice he makes. Planning on ported, but what size box/port area/vent size do you recommend?? Amplifier choices so far are as follows, JBL GTO 601.1, Alpine MRP-M500, Alpine PDX-1.600, Kicker ZX500.1, Rockford Fosgate R500-1, and any others you can recommend, any suggestions on anything I've stated so far would greatly be appreciated. Subwoofer is about the only thing set in stone right now and thats still a bit flexible, based on budget I am sure some amp choices will disappear on me, but thats my list so far. Thanks for any and all help, Mike

    2008 Quad Cab Dodge Install

Well I've talked to him some more and he's into other suggestions for subs, upto 10" size. Total budget for the build is around 600-800 dollars. A good chunk of that is already up on the 3Sixty.1, then we have sub/box/amp and wiring. He won't go used otherwise I'd already be prowling the F/S section here for something. Has to fit under the rear bench seat. I think we'll be taking some measurements today to figure out how much depth. width. and height we have to use, biggest concerns so far are depth for mounting and cubic feet available. Box will also serve as the amp rack to hide wiring. We'll be building the box and as big of a perfectionist as he is. this will be my first professional installation with nothing to be seen or picked out. I've also looked at the RE SR10, RL-i 10, the FI Q10 could be an option but it needs a bit more power and possibly space. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thx guys

Can FI recone my 06 RE XXX 15?

Pretty much as stated at the top, I'm just curious if they can recone it for me, and if they do will I lose all the linear travel I had? How will it affect my power handling and sound quality? Thanks for any and all help guys.

Can FI recone my 06 RE XXX 15?

Yeah, it's the new one, I kind of figured that. Damn, well what would it cost me to recone an RE SX 15 with Fi Parts? What are my options as far as soft parts go for it? What will it do power handling wise? Will it lower the FS at all or make it sound any better? It didn't go as low as I'd hoped before and definitely wasn't the best sounding sub I've ever heard.
  7. That build is absolutely crazy......definitely will be deserving of a few magazine covers when you're all done. I would assume it's probably almost 2000 pounds heavier now isn't it? Just figuring with the woofers, wall, deadening, batteries.....so much chit, maybe its more than a ton. Either way, I'd love to sit in that thing for however long I could stand it.

140.9db with 1 15"BL is that pretty good??

140.9 is respectable with that setup, especially with a honda, the alt is tiny in that thing.....upgrade your alt to battery wiring and such, maybe a bigger alt if you ever afford it.....but putting the seats down will make a big difference....i woulnd't be disappointed with that score though.....a 30hz tune isn't made for spl, just insane lows that people will shutter when they feel.....good job man and post up the next score you get and the changes you make.

    New Sub in the Works

Looks nice Jacob, where can I find more info on this upcoming nightshade? We talked a few years ago about a lot of audio and whatnot, kind of lost touch with you....guess that would've been during the time you were getting things going....glad everything is going well....I'd love to pick up a saz-3000d for the xxx 15 i've got.

140.9db with 1 15"BL is that pretty good??

140.9 isn't the greatest score, but are you happy with it? does it do what you want everyday? i'd also suggest putting the seats down next time, it will make a drastic difference. But its hard to just judge a score without knowing your exact setup and vehicle....if you're running 1000rms and have a 60 amp alt, it's hard to keep the voltage up to supply the amp....a lot of things factor into an spl score....as long as your happy with how it performs everyday, then yeah i'd say be happy with your score....not saying you can't figure out ways to improve upon it though.

    New to SSA

Hi, new to SSA, been on CSo for almost 4 years now, so I'm not new to car audio.....just wanted another place to talk to people and possibly help out and learn some more myself.

Single 15 LSQ setup...So many options

How about an RE SX15? That would also fit into your grouping, otherwise I'd suggest the FI Q or SSD....the audioque's like a lot of power, tons of people have type r's, don't know anything about the CVX's.
