    Ascendant Audio's New Home!

not feeling the love. i generally hate buying from dealers because, i know what i want to do and dont want to pay 300% markup. I like buying my stuff from outfits like Fi, but not sure i like this move.....feeling a little left out here.

How do you discard of old subwoofer boxes?

unless its a custom glass box that i will never use again.... generally i do not throw them away.... i have 4 boxes kicking around that i can use any time-- you never know when a friend could use it. if i have to throw it away i just cut them up into many small pieces. of course explosives would be much more fun, but my uppity neighbors would get an attitude about it and call the police.

    Two-way subwoofers?

Hertz is dead against internet sales. find a local dealer or call around. i am looking at a set of either Space 6L or 8L ( if i can fit the 8... going to be tough ). i have talked to Norm at Speed Sound and i gotta tell you... i love this guys service. good dude... old school.

BIGJON- i know not all drivers are not on meth... it was a GENERALIZATION about some of the "A$$HOLES" that do..... but then maybe that speaks for some of those A$$HOLES driving lifted EXXON VALDEEZ pickups/hummers. unfortunately in this country we have more money than brains..... the good news is the money is drying up. bad news is stupidity is surely not in short supply. Well said but the bad part is those who aren't rich seem to be getting more poor, and the rich even more rich. J also well said. the rich getting richer is proof that gov't is corrupt. lets talk about where all the Clintons ( or Bushs' ) money really came from. the Senators in this country are a disgrace as well.

okay... like a champ.... i took no pictures.... when i get going on this stuff i just dont stop and take pictures ( sorry guys ). i added Parallels to my MAC, so i can run Windows and control the 3sixty.2-- very nice piece of equipment. after about a month of listening to the CDT es-06 drivers ( the low QTS and all ) are not as good on the doors as i would like them to be. i took the extra time to make sure the doors were deadened and prepped properly. they really shine with vocals, drums, and guitars etc.... they really give the sound some grunt/beef. they fall a little short with bringing more bass depth forward. mounting depth is no more than 3 inches-- weak-- I KNOW! anybody have some good sources for a high QTS driver in the neighborhood of 6.75"???

it was a generalization...... there are idiots everywhere. overall if everybody just backed off on the freeways rather than trying to force the nose of their vehicle into every opening we would not have GRIDLOCK. the point about the trucks is that they are packing some real weight and most people zipping around them tend to forget that a truck does not stop as fast as anything else on the road. that said there are some a$$holes driving trucks too..... ahhhh meth! thats a whole nother' story!

    Midbass

like JIMJ says... install is everything. with what you have i think you should be pretty happy. 3sixty.2 is NIIIICE! two should be awesome... nice 4 way setup?

    Midbass

the CDT ES-06 Gold are in the doors running IB. i had Raamat in the doors, but i went back and added Damplifier Pro, Convoluted Foam ( Egg Crate ) behind the drivers and then sealed them up the door best i could with the Damplier Pro. i made a new baffle as well. i use the 3sixty.2 for xover and eq. currently they are crossed at 60-250. the 06s really jump and bring alot of bass forward. i have not really spent any time tweaking them yet, so when i get my pods installed today with the 5.25 and Seas i will spend more time tweaking them.

    Midbass

just finished my doors this afternoon- they 06s sound great-- wish i could try ported!
  18. rugdnit

    Midbass

how is your door prepped? i have the Gold Series M6 and it has great midbass, but i know the door can be prepped better ( my job this weekend... finishing my pods and prepping the doors better ). that said the CDT drivers really prefer some type of enclosure to perform at their best. install is everything.

    Damplifier Pro

so i just did the Damplifier Pro on the rear doors. i also used the ensolite foam. WOW what a difference. i used two layers of Raamat on the front doors and all i can say is that there is no comparison. Raamat may be a better deal, but as far as i am concerned i wasted the money spent on Raamat.... cuz now i am going to go back and redo the doors with the Damplifier Pro. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!
  20. rugdnit

    Damplifier Pro

that was all i was trying to convey. when you figure in the high cost of saving money-- DAMPLIFIER PRO IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. GREAT JOB ANT!
  21. rugdnit

    Damplifier Pro

i come here because, there is little if any sarcastic tone..... if you are looking for tone it can be found at CA.COM if i can get windows to run on my mac... i can surely read that Raamat is .59-.64 mils and that Damp Pro is .80 mils c'mooon!!!!!!!!!
  22. rugdnit

    Damplifier Pro

wtf is everybodys problem??? i corrected what JimJ did not see in my post and then thanked him for reading the post..... stop reading TOO MUCH into the posts. franks and beans man! champ??? meh!

    Damplifier Pro

did you read where i said TWO LAYERS OF RAAMAT? thanx for reading!

    puting a speaker box together

make sure you pre drill ( pilot ) your screw holes and its always nice to use a countersink bit ( i acually use the tapered drill bit with countersink ). with your jig saw to cut out holes make sure you have a good FINE TOOTH BLADE. the Fine Tooth is a little slower, but the cuts are much more accurate. obviously a router with a jig is ideal, but not everybody has one. DON'T RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
