does flat wind coil and bp power add to a 12" ssd? how about bp power on a 12" Q? just thinking about future upgrades. thanks.

what is the recommended port area for ssd's? box will be around 5 cubes tuned to around 33hz. 1 port 5" wide 20.75" long would give me 75 square inches. and 4.5" wide 17.25" long is 67.5. is one better that the other? and y? also just curious how much does a 12" SSD weigh and a 12" Q?

ok someone told me before that if they were standard 3" coils then they could be reconed. well i got bored and ripped on of my blown T1's apart. outside of the coil is 3.204"-3.244" and the inside of the coil is 3.020"-3.051". bent a lil bit, maybe from removing it. how much would it cost to recone? how much power would it be able to handle? would i just be better off buying ssd's? thanks. p.s.- any more dimensions needed ill see what i can do, its kinda hard to get into the basket with a 6" dial caliper . but ill see what i can do if ya need me to. the gap in the motor is approx. .145"

how much does the bp power option raise the rms on a 12" ssd?? would one need this option running 2 off a rf t10001bd 1633rms @ 1 ohm? what coil would be the best-regular, copper, or flat wind? daily driver (possibly a comp here n there for somethin to do but rarely), in trunk of an 00 impala, 2.5 cubes each tuned to around 38hz, i listen to most all music, lots of rap turned up loud, cuz its loud n low.

Is there a list of subs-brands and models-that FI knows they can recone, without sending it in perhaps???? soo many ?'s about recones. j/w cuz it would be nice to know, can be on the lookout for these subs if we knew what ones can be, ya know what im sayin?? Thanks

so youre saying by box is tuned high? i can build a new box for the new subs tuned to what ever it needs to be. the one i got now is tuned for the rockfords, but its gonna need a new front somehow anyways, so its probably easier and better to just build a new one for new subs. the t10001bd is all im gonna use for now but might upgrade sometime , maybe the new rf t1500-1, but not anytime too soon. also you dont have any subs with rubber surround right? i just like the looks better but j/w. thanks

ok currently ive got 1 rf t112d4 on a rf t10001bd. had 2 blew one, replace it and blew the other one. been reading about fi on the smd fourm, and want some. my box is ~2.5 cubes x2 tuned to around 38. the amp puts out 1633rms at 1 ohm. the fi subs have 8 mounting holes? the rfs have 12 so im gonna have to make a new box or put a new front on this one. box cant go bigger. my ?'s are should i get the ssd's? or the q's? i dont like buying the "bottom" line of anything thats why i kinda want the q's. also should i upgrade to 15's? the 12's would be at the max recommended size and the 15's would be .5 under. any input would be appreciated. thanks.

I'm willing to bet there is a reason...you don't get two spontaneous mechanical failures unless RF's quality control has really hit rock bottom. Do you have a shop or anyone near you with an oscilloscope? You might be surprised at what the amp's doing... i have no idea if any shop has one around here or not. heard about them before but can u refresh my memory on exactly what they do?? and one blew a month after i got the box and amp then the other one 4 months later. had them on a rf p8002 for 1.5-2 years in a smaller 1.75 x 2 box and were fine.
