nic watts, i donno he didnt sand the cap first. so maybe thats why.. but after i gooped the one the cone tore... im starting to think maybe im driving them too hard but.. shit.. im running an NS-1 steve clamped 4700 watts to each of his if i recall correctly .... unless my small box is causing too much pressure

i have a an 01 maxima, and its not PCM controlled it has a cable and a idle set screw ... is it the maxima were talking about?

im thinking my box is a huge issue, the Zcons are nice, dont get me wrong, but in my install it seems the box is giving me shit! im going to glue the other cap back on and play for a while see if i can get them to losen up and see how they do then

did some testing today.... i think my box is too small.. im around 6 cubes before port for the pair of 15's, they all so raised my peak from 33 to 42 hrtz , thus removing me from my vehical resnonce sweet spot, ... street beat scores were a mess.... but with songs in the 40's area they do very well.. im just in a cross roads on what to do .

thanks for your imput, somtimes it helps to hear others thoughts. im hearing from others that the Zcons like bigger boxs, and mine is pretty small. also that they are indeed peaky around 40 hrtz from a few people. .. im far from 40 . im going to play around some more.

i went to meet orlando and oscar to show them the subs, well it was cold as tits so we hurried i played all the way home,and when i pulled up at home i popped my trunk to check the subs for heat, and orlando was telling me his Icon was always stinky but never let go.. and steves were always stinky. i have noticed the Zcons peak higher.... great for most people but im tuned at 29 hrtz : im still breaking them in, i planed to meter saturday but now i have to glue the cap on and try for sunday.

I guess his box liked 12s better because he gained by switching to smaller cone area. It would be a sight to see if the zcons can't do what the nightshades did? I'm tuned in he gained going to 12s i belive because his enclosure was TINY! i think he would have gained going to Zcon 12's..... mine will be damn near a direct swap... only the nightshades were ran at .25 and these will be ran at .33 so a little less power. not a heck of a lot but...

i thought i killed the nightshade on the NS1 @.25 figured i cooked the glue on the coil.. but from what it looks like so far, the coils look good, so do the tensiels...seems that the bottom of the former is jacked up, IE jon bottomed them out one too many times.....ohhh yeah i rememeber on my streetbeat run : the fucking bad ass part is.. the one that cooked is the one i reconed in july, the other one is a year and a half old OEM from sundown... so this thing has stood the test of time! plans are to keep the NSV2s and rebuild them.. and if for some strange reason the Zcons dont tickle my fancy then ill sell them and throw my V2s back in,.... but i cant wait to see what the Zcons can do. i should be playing friday. saturday at latest

i put another battery into today build and stained the new battery box, got it all installed, and went and bought some metrials to make buss bars.. i may use it i may not.. im thinking i wont. i may just use it for a templet, well see how far i get friday

i was at .25 on the nightshade V2s for my burps and streetbeats., ill be at .33 on these.. so... i hope so but.. well see... im moving slow. its cold, and i dont really feel like working on the car, i have some personal shit going on.... its a low grumble of hoplessness at this point
