jonbearsmt replied to spl_explorer's topic in Sundown Audio

Each vehicle will be different. The transfer function can have a negative effect on one firing direction and positive on another. General consensus is fire back. WHo's the girl in your avatar? oh ok well im talking about a 1989 caprice. idk who she is i found that pic on another site well im talking about a 2001 towncar.

this was not on a TL but rather on the DMM mic correct?
-
you wanna use a sealed cell if your gonna put it in a trunk.
-
dude those must some gay 4 15s. if i had 4 15s id blow away 2 15 bls. ive heard bls, owned btls. or a gay installer. either way you wanna think about it. its true.

Cone area always wins, granted the conditions are the same. You would be lucky to get a clean 2000 watts, or close to 2000 watts at that matter, out Hifoncs. Look around more *cough* Sundown *cough*! cone area does not allways win.

well wire lower and hope ur impedeance rises above your smoke point.... a sub moves the ohms change. i have seen people that have a math to the madness.. but i think its only for burps... like @60 hrz the ohm rise is at 1 ohm..... so they wire the subs down to 1/3 of an ohm so that while thay are burping the amp sees a 1 ohm load. from what i understand... but i have been wrong before,.

i have used it in cramped sealed boxes before... it seems to work well

Because I already own them. those are very reasonable options indeed.
-
kick ass you gonna use tape or heat shrink.
-
thats a good question mike. lemme try and find out.

LOL, took me a while to get the joke. Yeah, a 1500D on any 8's is overkill, even a pair of RL-i8's. I've got the gain dialed down to safe levels. It's either this or a bridged SAX-100.2, but less more is more. why are those the only two options.... sundown makes a 1000 watt amp.
-
you can not load a bl in a pre fab box... just have one made at your local audio shop... or talk to bj at fisher customs..... 4X50 HA!.... your lucky to get 20 watts... some people may say your lucky to get 5 watts... 6x9s in the doors.
-
great... it powers them as if thay were made for eachother.... and i have my gain a touch less then half... saz 3000d's are great amps.... like old school us amps and what not.. i think sundown will be my amp of choice for the years to come.....
-
that 1500 looks huge on that lil box... those 8's throw down bobby flay style
-
i hope you like it... as long as it works for you....
-
sorry ms but i am gonna get comps, the rsd set on egay for $74 shipped. may not be the "best" but im sure it will sound better than stock. then later when i get a job that i don't have to worry so much about money i'll buy an amp to make them even better. just dont be suprised if your let down thats all... but i hope it sounds great.
-
to much for a btl... no no but i dont think you will get 2600 from that amp... are you open to some ideas.
-
i dont know of a price on the 1200 yet i dont think it has been set.. but if you want 1000 watts.. you get this 1200 watt, set the dain 3/4 down or more.. and you know your near a 1000 clip free watts... well im stoned and thats what i think. o yeah.. jacob said somthing about the 1200 watt amp has been putting out 1500 watts in testing.
