alternator wishes come true??
jonbearsmt replied to jonbearsmt's topic in Automotive and Performance
were talking about a partner ship on the sales end, ill need to talk to Aaron and mark before i say too much on here.. dont want to step on any toes,. but at this point its just talk anyhow. im really happy at this point. its a boss so far, the guy that was with me was doubting it i think because when he seen the results his eyes were big! and he said "damn its putting it out thats for sure " im going to get a smaller pulley, a 44 mm and see if i can get a higher idle voltage in the rear in my application . -
alternator wishes come true??
jonbearsmt replied to jonbearsmt's topic in Automotive and Performance
i wanted to share this with you guys, i load tested my alt today, i ran the car for about an hour before my testing to give a hot result,,. we all know that heat kills efficiency so this is a honest test. the only problem i had was presenting a heavy enough load . i put as much load as i could give it. but i could not find a bigger load with out rewiring my subs and that was just too much work today./ its a 240 amp unit and these are the results at 1800 RPM -
PAC OEM-1 LOC level....
jonbearsmt replied to JohnHinerman's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
there are some reasons that you would not want a 100 percent of the power going to the low level amp inputs, i normally put them at half way. you can grab a DMM and a test tone and make sure the output voltage is lower then 6~ish depending on the amps. clipping can be an issue, but the biggest issue i see is that some amps will not play or damage the amp. i would try to leave the LOC accessible , and try it half way and work from there. i hope someone has a more definitive answer for you . -
ineed. if you have a budget like you do.. i would shop for good used amps.. you can offten get wwwway more for your money. and in some cases you can pick an amp up from a audiophile, so you know it was used correctly (not stressed on low voltage) and so forth. just a thought. but if you really must have that new hifonics, just besure you do the big three, make sure your voltage is right. and build a good box, and have fun!

i have a 48mm over drive pulley now.. i would like to install a 44 mill .. does anyone have any reasons why a 44 mill would not be good for daily? IE. on the hwy it will spin to fast for too long creating ... yada yada yada. if no issues are known then ill order it thanks guys.

i think the SA calls for 1.75 cubes at the most. noo i think you mabe confused about how a subwoofer works... playing it wont break it. i can run my subs all day and they wont rip apart... infact with ,my nightshade V1 15's on 3k i ran full tilt for 2 hours straight at a local BBQ cook off, if you look around im sure the topic is burred in here some where. subs cool them selfs, so they are made to play within perimeters. subs are also stupid. they do what they are told to do ... by you . so when you tell it to kill its self.. thats what it will do. fix whats broken or you will be spending more and more time fixing subs for foolish reasons. but hey!!! what the fuck do i know.

anyway hunter.. im just a very blunt person.. if you stick around you will see this... but just know that EVERYTHING i told you in my post TO YOU.. will HELP you have a better stereo. and those are the facts.

sure boss.. is there anything else you need? if you broke the glue on the former.. then you unloaded that sub.... you unloaded THE SHIT OUT OF THAT SUB.. you need to adjust your subsonic filter. and your box looks HUGE, how many cubes is that thing? looking at that single baffle and the manor your cooking subs in looks like your ready for a "sponsor"
