it sounds like you guys are suggesting a 4th order box for him ? 4th orders are pretty big, dont think you have a chance at 2 10's 4th order, in that space, would be nice to try, i have offten thought of trying to make an L port into the cabin for my set up... but i cant seem to work the length for music tuning, and people tell me it would have cancellation issues ..... but my biggest problem is space.amps batteries. box and subs. hope to see you work up a good plan, as far as the arm rest port idea,. it not like a normal car, in the trunk the gas tank divides the cabin from the trunk.. for sound killing reasons,. so the trunk is high behind the seats. and thee is maybe 3 inchs max . of space. in the arm rest area for a port for maximum sound into the car with the equipment you have you should remove the factory sound vynal that black lining that goes under the back seat .. then up to the headrest in the rear.. and that will help alot!

i know my a pillers are huge.. and yours migth not be as huge as mine are.. but just throwing it out there.. if your lady will be driving it.. my pillers are a HUGE blind spot for my chick and my mom when she uses it.. and i drive for a living.. huge trucks.. and sometimes i find my self imaging where i am on the road like i do when i town an 18 wheeler in a classic extended hood rig, rather then in my car. for me not an issue. as thats my day to day.. but for everyone else a huge problem. the tweeters i used are VERY directional everyone kept telling me play them off the glass blah blah.. but with these tweets it wont work.. ill be tuned in to what you do for your front stage, the front mounting depth is not that great i think its 2.38 or somthing if you go from the doo rto the window.. the factory 5x7 in the front had a 1.5 inch spacer .. so once you remove that.. add your MDF spacers .. there is a bit of space to work with between the door pannel and the door skin, i secondskinned the inside of the door with damp pro then covered the entire door skin with mass loading luxuary liner pro. and ut helped alot with sealing up the door a bit.. by biggest problem i think is my comand center or what ever you wanna call it.. my over head console. it pretty much destroyed it self in a matter of days. and it makes noise. well look at me getting all chatty.

technicality a ported box does not move that much air.. fresh air in and out of it.. as you may think. you sub-woofer only excites the existing air. in and out as much as your woofer moves.. so what 30MM at the most in and out.. only moving the air a little amount in and an out.. never replacing the air inside the box.... but only once again yes moving it back and forth only millimeters just my experience it truly depends on the sub.. if it has a good cooling design then it will dissipate heat well.. it it does not.. it will not ported or sealed IMO. should only be decided on goals. and anticipation but thats just my thoughts. buzzed

normally a slightly larger box will enable the sub to be moved with less power. and of course too big of a box would cause problems .. feeling free air rather then some kinda back pressure. from my experience .. probably some book that proves me other wise.

its goal dependent .. SQ or SPL. i will say this.... some times.. a single sub say 1 15 in optiaml space done correctly will and can be louder then 2 15's crammed in a space choking them selfs... i run 2 15's ... always have.. and i absolutely love shuttin boys down that have 6 L7 15's crammed in a trunk..

the back up cam is the next best to proximity warning.. but i dont think they started doing that on the towncars untill 04..
