I guess I had a case of premature topulation

The 9915 to me sounds well ya kinda hollow in a way. but this was in a db drag and well the install was a bit ghetto to me. I was thinking it was the install.

I want to weld with your Tahoe. Actually air arc with it. hehe Guess the next step past your quad alts is a PTO driven power source like we use for site welding in the field.

design also makes a difference. some companies take short cuts with components (quality or lack of components)and get satisfactory results, but sacrifice longevity. This is a question for Sundown/Massive designers to answer completely. Larger companies are not as flexible as smaller companies IMHO for customization. It all boils down to the mighty dollar. How much you put in and how much you will profit from your endeavor. If you can invest a 1,000 dollars and make 10,000 dollars making amps that are of good quality with decent priced components and patrons are very satisfied v/s investing 5,000 dollars and making 10,000 in profits using cutting edge expensive components and patrons are chiting their pants with glee. what would you do. This is where companies either make it or fail all together.

the saz 1500d at 1 ohm would be better for a 2 ohm dual voice coil sub than the zx750.1 wired at 4 ohms

heh ok did you get the 2 ohm kicker sub or the 4 ohm kicker sub? If the book that came with your sub says 4 or 1 ohm ummm sounds like you have the 4 ohm model, any ways if its the 2 ohm model the kicker zx 750.1 will pound around 900rms give or take at 2 ohms. its not stable at 1 ohm and at 4 ohms your going to push around 400 rms or so.

if i got this right you got the 2 ohm instead of the 4 ohm sub. If this is correct the kicker 750.1 will be just fine wired 2 ohm.

a second battery would do you better than a cap. yes at full tilt your lights might dim and a large enough cap would fix that problem but a second battery would also fix that problem and more. so if your lights are dimming get a second batt

While this is true, it would be more precise to say that resistance is the opposition to the flow of direct current. Impedance is the opposition to the flow of alternating current. AC causes some devices to act differently than they do with DC. This is true with speakers. If you use a voltmeter to measure the resistance of a speaker's voice coil, you may read something like 3.2 ohms (resistance) even if the speaker has a rated impedance of 4 ohms. The impedance of a speaker is not a constant. It's actual impedance changes with frequency and can vary greatly. Manufacturers give you a nominal impedance, which is generally the average impedance that the speaker will present to the amplifier when driven within the part of the audio spectrum that its designed to reproduce.
