Elemental Designs 13Av.2+Nine.1
aznboi3644 replied to BigCProductions99's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I mostly like eD's amplifiers. Stout from my experiences. The subs...The weakest part seems to be the cheap thin spiders they use -
Why is it that the IXL 10 and 12 inch subs have 1000 watt power handling ratings but the 15" and 18" are rated at 800 watts??
-
With 900 watts and a 9 cu ft enclosure two 4" ports isn't enough...I'd go with two 6" round ports.
-
The horn can take up more than half the enclosure size...not accounting for the compression chamber. horns are much bigger than normal ported enclosures.
-
Not enough room for a rear loading horn. Enough room for a bass reflex for two 12's though.

what kind of motor is on the tc-10? -
do you have the room for one??
-
The AudioPulse is an SQ sub first...output is a bonus
-
The "Who We Are" Section would benefit from using indented paragraphs and smaller font
-
Every time I click "View New Posts" I get this crap...is anyone else getting this??
-
Oh i didn't know they were working on it already....I was wondering what the hell was up...I thought I was my internet service at first but after 20 times it didn't change lol.
-
Who is reconing it?? Does the motor have XBL^2??
-
exactly what I was trying to figure out...basically you are free airing the sub around tuning and output is weak. What you should have done is have one side tuned low and the other side tuned 1/3 octave higher or so. Should have done more research.

SSA dcon specs are a go!

Nice to see a low power SQ driver. -
Qts: 1.228 pretty high...most likely going to sound like complete ass
-
what are the 1/4 wavelengths of each side???
-
with a car like that...I would start with dampening and reinforcing the panel or else it'll rattle like hell
-
frequency is not the only factor in port length...net volume, area, and tuning all are part of it.
-
the box definitely looks deceptively small in the pictures lol Nice build

tube car audio amplifiers?
aznboi3644 replied to bristabrock's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
someday I'll build me a tube amp for 12 volt application...never heard a tube amp before though...besides a guitar amp -
I think you were clipping the amp or something...I had my 15 Type R in 4.3 cu ft tuned to 40Hz with 112.5 sq in of port powered with 1200 watts rms no problems...subsonic was set around 30Hz too.

Louder with a sealed box?? lol wow...If you really think two 15L7s sealed off 1500 watts will be loud no matter what then I agree with M5. L7's sound like crap in sealed enclosures and their output is weak compared to them in a nice ported enclosure. Go for it...you won't be impressed...then come back to us

I have a blown 19Ov.2 Is it possible to get a recone for this motor??? The VC is 2.5" I'd like to recone it down to a 12 or a 10 if possible. Thanks

best way to tune a ported box is with a port
