Ixl 10 compared to RE SX

Not in every case. (i.e. zx2500.1) Read again...you just named ONE amp out of all mono channel amps. What he said in this case is true.

    Horns in spl applications...

    Hornresp can model compound horns

    Horns in spl applications...

I'm not sure how well the horn would load into a cabin. You could use HornResp as a general guide on the horn dimensions and tuning.
  5. Can the MJ18 motors be reconed to a smaller size subwoofer?

    Woofer Speed

Isobaric loading also cancels out driver linearity problems.

    Woofer Speed

A sub with 2" peak to peak excursion would move a total of 8" in one cycle at peak excursion...not 4". 30hz 8" per cycle...20' per second...blah blah blah comes out to 13.6mph @ 30Hz.

    dont know what to do

why are you comparing a 12 inch sub to an 18 inch sub?

    eD19ov.2 vs. Fi Q and Bl 18s

Iv'e notice that your 190v.2 is in a 6cft. ported box and eD recommend 3.5cft. Does 6cubes sounded better in a bigger box? 3.5 cu ft works...but IMO is too small. I went with 6 cu ft cuz I could fit it. The 19Ov.2 can work well in small boxes but it really shines in bigger sealed (3.5-4 cu ft atleast). In the big ported enclosure the 19Ov.2 used to do some damage.

    Home theater sub build

yeah....single 4" port is not enough for a 15" sub and 4+ cu ft. Did you not model out the port velocity??

    eD19ov.2 vs. Fi Q and Bl 18s

I have a 19Ov.2. It died to the wall socket in my 6 cu ft 40Hz tuned enclosure...lasted a good amount of time though. The 19Ov.2 is a great subwoofer...It can handle a good amount of power (1000 watts RMS). The sub sounds very good. The ONLY weakness I had with mine was the single spider. It is not that pliable. The spider ripped pretty much all around the whole sub. Once day I saw the sub sagging very noticeably. Took the sub out and saw the damage. BUT that was my fault. 10Hz tone + 1200 watts + 6 cu ft ported 40Hz w/ 112.5 sq in of port area = Nothing good. But the sub was still wanging hard for a week before I noticed. I still could have wanged hard. Soon it would have completely died though.

need a clarification on "nice box"

90% of the "manufacture recommended enclosures" I've seen are crap. Undersized and tuned too high. Aimed at the demographic of loud crap in a small package. Most people aren't willing to give up their whole trunk for bass...they see a "small box" subwoofer thinking it will actually sound good in the crappy box. I never look at the recommended specs.

    Screwless Box

liquid nails is not as strong as wood glue. I've had enclosure seams blow apart when I used Liquid Nails cuz my friend's stubborn ass didn't want to use wood glue...I've never had a problem with wood glue. Break a joint between glue and liquid nails...the liquid nails will just unstick from the MDF. The wood will break before the wood glue joint does.

    Fi Q18 enclosure...

large enclosure and low tuning it lacks on the upper bass frequencies...going smaller will not affect the sub in any negative way if you are afraid of blowing it. The only thing that will happen is the mechanical power handling will go up.

    Fi Q18 enclosure...

If you want more upper bass make a smaller enclosure tuned 35-40Hz
