Looks like it got the shit beat out of it.

Hahahaha. "No the other build with twelve 15"s". Lol. I find that hilarious.

Through them in a box I had laying around the shop yesterday. They are being powered by a pair of saz-3500s @ 0.5ohm each. Vid. Got my new box built today. It works MUCH better. Because I had to move the amps to the back of the truck my rcas weren't long enough. Using some y-splitters as a ghetto extension I was able to get one amp going. With only one saz-3500d @ 1ohm on both subs it hit a 149.1 on the TL. Did the same exact # playing some music too. More vids tomorrow.

Nothing new. I'm waiting on my 300a alt to get here before I do anymore testing. Voltage drop sucks.
-
These have NS spiders. Other than that they're stock Z v.2s.
-
Did some testing today. End result was a 151.5. Still with just one saz-3500d. I'm happy.

Big thanks to Brandon for coming down & taking care of the factory wiring harness. Other than that all the stereo wiring is already in place. Once the new dash & center console are complete it's all just a matter of plug & play from there.

A pair of B&C neo 12" mids and a pair of Selenium st350 super tweeters.
-
I believe he mentioned dropping the 1000d from the saz line up too. Saz will be 1500-up and sae will be 1500-down.

Awesome!!! I need two Z v.2 12"s. Dual 1ohm coils, double leads, standard cone, two spiders (the magic ones), hold the lettuce, extra cheese, and a partridge in a pear tree. Oh yeah, put the ranch on the side please. Be there to pick them up next week.

I only see a couple cracks around the mounting lip. As long no spokes are busted then it's playable. Drill an extra mounting hole on each side of each crack and screw it down. It's not like you can mess the basket up any worse. The sub will play fine.
-
Got any pics of it? If its just a crack and not totally shattered I wouldn't recone it yet.

[email protected] Basic 2.5" tall x 9" wide Sundown Audio decals are $1 each (minimum order of $2). Sundown windshield decals are $5 each + a flat $5 shipping cost. I can also do custom sizes and colors for an extra fee. Email me for quotes on custom work.

I agree the Sundown Audio line of apparel could use an overall. Mainly just to get some more updated options. Here's a little sample peak at a little of what I'm working on.

For the sa-8s box yes the port was external. Best spl tuning will vary per vehicle.
-
It's 1.75ft net volume with a single 6" aero port. Actual dimensions are something like 13.5" tall x 13.5" deep x 24" wide. I believe it'll do better with less volume though.

We did some comparative testing between all the Sundown Audio SAZ series amplifiers today. The saz-1000d, saz-1500d, saz-2000d, and the saz-3000d. Guts of the new saz-1000d. This thing is a lil powerhouse. All testing was done in my '93 Explorer Sport on a single stock Sundown NightShade 15". The weather was very cold today down in the 30s. My peak frquency was off cause of the cold and overall I was down 0.8db with all amps but this test was only for comparison purposes anyways just to show the difference on the TL from one to the other. Up first the lil saz-1000d. It's so cute! Then the saz-1500d. 1.5db gain in a direct swap. Next is the saz-2000d. Another 0.8db gain with it. Last up was the saz-3000d. 0.7db up from there. All scores were done with the vehicle sealed & the mic on the windshield.

Absolutely do not attempt to run your amp @ 0.25ohm daily. I don't even recommend for anyone other than experienced competitors to burp them @ 0.25ohm. Three dual 1ohm subs wired in a series/parallel configuration will result in a 0.67ohm nominal impedance. DCR should be 0.4-0.5ohm. We've had great success running Sundown amps there daily but keep in mind that when wiring below 1ohm current draw goes up. A solid electrical is a must have. If it was me personally I wouldn't hesitate to run any of my Sundown amps @ 0.67 daily.
-
Jacob still has a few b-stock motors that he can build up to whatever you want. B-stock means it has a visual blemish only. Nothing functionally wrong with them.
-
The amps will handle 0.5 daily just fine but current draw goes up so you'll need a good electrical to keep up. Actual output varies from setup to setup.

Awesome pre-sale price. Four for only $360. Would work great with a saz-1500d. I'm thinking of something like eight off a saz-3500d.
-
I'd get the Sundown.

You can pick up small set screws at your local hardware store.

That box is 6ft net volume.
