'06 Nissan Altima 2 RF T1 15s & 2 Sundown 1500s '93 Ford Explorer 2 Sundown NightShade 15s & 2 Sundown 1500s Yes they use the AudioControl meter but its still fun and yes we both took first in our classes by a huge margin. I was just over 10db louder then 2nd place in my class.

41hz for competition & 33hz for daily. There's about a 1.2db difference between the two.

That box is on the small side at around 5ft. The 156.8 was an AC # but it still does consistant 150.Xs on the TL. As for aero ports, IMO they're simply more efficient all around than a slot port. Jacob already covered the key points there.

I'm currently still using the original 15yr old factory 95a alt in my Explorer. Its been clamped at putting out a lil over 100a at full tilt and its holding up alright. On heavy notes at full tilt its never dropped below 12.9v. I do have a lot of reserve capacity with the 3 g31s though and I'm also not the type to listen to my music in the 150db range all day every day. I also ran a pair of 1500s strapped @ 1.3ohms in my '06 Yukon w/ the factory 160a alt, red top under the hood, and a pair of g31s in the back. On heavy notes at full tilt I saw drops to 11.9 but never any worse. That setup I would demo regularly at full tilt during comps and everything held up fine.

Nice. I love how factory it looks.

Everyone keep in mind that this wasn't TL #s it was an AudioControl mic. Even on an AC mic a 160 is still freakin loud. There were only four people at the event that did a 160 or better. Everyone read 6-7db higher than they do on the TL. Both our scores were Renegade which means the mic goes in the kick panel. I do a 153 in the kick on the TL and the Altima does 50s in the kick on the TL. The Altima is good for legal 49s on the TL and I do 51s.

Seeing excursion being used to describe a tweeter made me giggle.

Border Motorsports Dillon, SC June 21 Competition Soundoff

Yep. They actually drove down to one of the shows in Andrews a month or so ago. I'm hoping we can get a few of the NSPL guys to come out and maybe start coming down into SC more often. -
I would love to see the results of two 3000s @ 0.5 each. Can you post the results of the other amps for comparison? And please include voltage drop like you did with this one.

People here in SC have never heard of Sundown Audio and after seeing my scores they ask about them at every show. The basic questions are where can I buy them and what all kind of products do they have. I try to explain as much as I can but it gets really time consuming doing that over and over. Its also tough without any visual references and specific information on hand. Do you have any type of brochure or product cards that I could hand out to people? We really need a dealer here in SC. That way I could direct people there. Right now all I know to do is send them to the website.

I know exactly what you mean. They're like weeble wobbles. You knock them over and they stand themselves right back up. Nice choice of subs. i'm sure you'll be happy.

Its not supposed to be out until the end of the year. A Sundown saz-1500d should hold you over til then.

This is sounding perfect for a future trunk setup of mine. I'd like to do 6k+ into a single 15".

Starts at 5pm. http://www.competitiononly.com http://www.competitiononly.com/show%20flie...%20May%2008.jpg -
Ya'll need to quit buying up all the 3000s. I'm gonna need one in about a month and would like for at least one to be left.

Overseas manufacturers only build crap if they are contracted to do so. Your typical American company wants product built as cheap as possible resulting in cheap products. Then you have companies like Sundown that insist on a quality product first and cost efficient second. I hate to see Americans lose their jobs. My company is finishing up a major layoff right now. You have to look at the bigger picture though. I know when I need something from the store I buy it from the cheapest place possible whether it be Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Bi-Lo, etc. Thats how I keep my cost of living as low as possible. Corporate America is just doing the same thing. In a way, Americans have done this to themselves by driving up the cost of living so high. I'm amazed everyday seeing kids coming straight outta high school expecting to make $20/hr just for showing up at work.

I posted these on a couple other forums and figured I might as well share them here. 2 Sundown NightShade 15s powered by a pair of Sundown SAZ-1500Ds. First hit. These are legal scores. (sealed up, mic on the windshield) After finding the right frequency. Door open, mic still on the windshield. Hardcore score. (door open, mic in the kick) This is in no way an spl setup. It plays music great and is already ripping my Explorer apart. The sunroof, that was previous glued & sealed shut, has ripped open and the mechanism that lifts & lowers it is completely trashed. The side windows are falling out. I'll be resealing the sunroof and side windows very soon. Its either that or I'm afraid they're gonna fall out driving down the road. So far I'm very satisfied with these subs. Keep in mind that these were brand new and very stiff. I'm expecting a few more tenths after they get broken in. I gained 0.3db in a couple days with my Bls getting broken in. Also I haven't played with box tuning at all. I'll get to that this weekend and dial it in some more. The short term goal is consistant 151s.
-
I've been neglecting this thread a little but I have a couple updates. Earlier this week I played with box tuning and got it up to a 151. I did squeeze a 151.1 that day but didn't get a pic of it. Then today at a comp after a good charge on the batteries and some hands holding my rear glass it got up to a 151.4. Hooray Team Sundown!
