I also pm'd you Brian about a Havoc 18 d2. Thanks

I bought an ascendant audio(FI) havoc 18 new about 10 months ago. It's rated at 1250 rms, and it takes a sundown 1500 d all day long, still going strong. Very good company, am looking to buy another one soon.

I have the havoc 18, Here is the review I wrote when I bought it: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...c=11184&hl= It is still going strong off my saz-1500d. If you have q's ... lemme know
-
You have a range of .03 cu ft in displacement there. I wouldnt worry about it, you'll never get it perfect.... hell, the wiring will probably take up .03!
-
It's an fi q with a triple stack magnet. The extra magnet will only make something like a .001 difference in driver displacement. Mounting depth is 10 inches.

Should be... when you can find some let me know!

I have a havoc 18, and I tracked mechanical noise to tinsel slap. I have a saz1500d on mine, and I get some seriously disgusting excursion, and never bottomed it. I have freaked out some people that have been into car audio a while with the stroke of this bad boy!! I tried wrapping my tinsels in carpet that was glued together, but it fell off. I am still trying to figure out how to get rid of my slap.

Should I ground every rca to the chassis then?

I'm just about ready to buy a H-701. I have a pair of sundown sax-100.2's running dual mono to my Diamond d-971 components(~400 rms per side). I wonder if I should stay with the passive xover or go active... I have the capability to easily switch between the 2 when I get the processor. Also, I just got off the phone with Diamond, found out that the tweet is crossed at 850 hz, but he said that the woofer has no upper cutoff freq. If I do go active, Where should I set the freqs, I want to try and keep the tweet as low as possible to bring my stage up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you do a sundown logo top to bottom with an Ascendant Audio mountain logo in background? That would be NIPS!! If so I'll buy a couple.
-
Thats what I built mine for as well, and it does that very nicely!

Well, FWIW I hit 138.7 with 1 18 havoc sealed in an suv with a saz-1500d. I would imagine you would be quite a bit louder.
-
Duke, I dont suppose that you're going to make it to SBN this year huh? If so, I would love to hear that setup of yours, I've been thinking about going ported on mine, but I dont want to lose the awesome transient response I have right now.

Yeah, I'll look at it tonight. The pioneer decks are famous for that stuff from what Ive heard. I understand the fix is to ground the rcas to the chassis. Do you think that would work for the 701? BTW the hiss is loud to me, but you can only hear it when volume is up quite a ways, and I found it when I was listening to the iasca sq disc, the track where the music fades away.

The hissing is coming from the toslink.
