ahh damn well that sucks, AHHHHHHHHH ok,, hmm any headunit choises then lol?. i no nothing about them and what one to choose If you dont know what you want, I would go to a car audio store and mess around with a few, and then buy one online( unless the store can get you close to the same price). Say you like a deck that goes for 200 online, but normally gets 270 in the store, see if the guy will go down any. If you can get within 10-15 percent of the online price, get the store bought unit, simply for the install( which is free alot of times) and the warranty( which you will more than likely NOT get buying online).

The req 5 is for "bass restoration" for stock systems. 99% of stock systems turn the bass down as volume goes up, that is why you notice very little till half volume, then all in. The req acts opposite of the stock deck. In other words, the behavior you see with that hooked up will not go away until you get an aftermarket deck. If you just ditch the req, you will lose bass level as you turn it up so you are screwed with stock( unless yours does not do this). X Eleventyjillion on the t-nuts.

yes they are and no the + and - from the amp go into 1 set of terminals,, shud the - go into the 2nd set? cud that be the prob? Pos from amp to any pos on speaker, then from there to other pos on speaker, same with the negs. You have a dmm, check the resistance, should be 1 ohm, if its 4 ohm, you messed up. Also, check your rca's from the h/u all the way back. unplug one, does it get quieter? if so, rca's are good.

Why exactly would that make it better? When they are mounted at right angles, they are very prone to failure due to vibration. When they are mounted straight(or almost ) up, the stress is taken off the legs of the mosfets. That is one very fast way to get an idea for build quality.

Sorry, the heatsink is only 10-12 years old, something like that? The guts are from a pc 2350, so they more like 15 years old. Old enough for me! BTW, I am 38 years old.... so .... yeah -

Thanks, I have always wanted one of these, now just to get it hooked up! -
So, I'm going to Vegas for a vacation from the 10th-18th Sept. Any chance for me to see the factory? Seriously.
-
Any chance of this happening soonish? Or will it be months out?

Looks like it is a big coil 2 inch or so? Also see a bumped backplate for excursion. Same cone/surround as e8? Looks like same mag diameter as e8 as well. Yummy overall, I hope it excels in a sealed environment
-
Some new 8 inch goodness????

I need to find 2 of these: Any help would be appreciated Thanks

I think the "v.2" is saying that it's another preorder, not a 3500d v.2

Jacob, from what I have seen you post in the past couple weeks on the new sub, it sounds like you are planning on making it for more of a ported/spl/ high power app? If so, I have an idea which you may or may not like. I suggest that you make 2 versions of it, 1 for the ported/spl crowd, and another that is totally for the small sealed crowd. I don't know if it's possible to do with the same motor and just a soft parts swap.. call 1 the p8, and one the s8. I have 8 of your e8's and I like them, but wish they had more power handling in a small sealed app. They do tend to bottom fairly easily when you get some power to them, in the recced enclosure. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, don't have me go to my next choice, which is the new Solobaric. It is rated for 300 rms in .33, so at .25, I would probably see a bit more power handling. Thanks for your attention.

My question is: If you make a sub for a sealed only app, will it perform better sealed than a sub that can do both? I think it would actually work, because there are a lot of people running 8's sealed.

I was just wondering what it is, and 1w/1m, or 2.83 volts? thanks

The search is over, I'm going to bite the bullet and hunt for the sundowns that I wanted in the first place. I have 4 purchased, I need 4 more. Thanks for the opinions, and help from you all.

I plan on going with some 8's, and due to the sundown e8 shortage, I have to change up my choice of subs. Here are my conditions: Sealed- no more than .3 cu per sub power handling of 250 RMS minimum Price must be 115 or less shipped per sub. Mounting depth of no more than 4 3/4 inches(this is important) These are the subs on my short list, please post your first hand listening impressions only, no "oh those suck, because all of that brand sucks" Kicker solo classic 8( the brand new ones)- really curious about these Kicker 08s8L5- I dont want to join the "me too" crowd, but I'll run them if they are my best choice Polk MM840 - The new MM series, NOT the old MOMO. According to t/s, they are not carryovers, for those that may say so. RE RE8 Please post up other 8's that I have missed that will do well in my app. I have looked at Parts Express, but honestly, without a trusted opinion, I wont buy any of them. It will be 8 8's in my crew cab Dakota. Must be sealed, and I have up to 4kw of power available from a Memphis Mojo 4kw. I would like 4 ohm subs to run the amp at 2 ohms total load for ~2kw total to the subs. If there are 8 sundown e8's out there, they are my first choice, so pm me if you have them, as this is not a "WTB" post. Thank you all very much

Well, ok I dont have the software, so could you do a quick model at .25 cu ft a piece, and which would be better the standard or neo? I've seen them both, and they both fall in my price range.

I got a headache looking at that formula, but 21 mph is starting to sound much more realistic.
