couldn't understand what that last paragraph was saying at all but the first few were fine. Anyway There is absolutely no difference between the memphis ST and MC amps. Just a different color and obviously the name from Studio to M class. So if you can get the st (silver) ones for cheaper than the M class (black chrome or whatever) get the studio one, they look better IMO anyway. 1000w will get a single 15" magnum louder than any woofer I've ever heard with that much power. Just so you know its supposed to be months before the new batch come in. I guess nick wants to sell all the 12's before he makes more.

A D2 in the spec ported enclosure will be perfect for your taste. Like I said I cannot comment on the RE sub cause it isn't here yet, but the D2 will be better for that than a 13w7 for sure on rap, hip hop etc. You'll need alot more power to get the 13w7 as loud as the Magnum, and only ported which it won't sound all that great for music. Sealed the output of a 13w7 will not even compare at all. I should say I'm comparing to a 15" magnum, I haven't heard the 12". The problem is the Magnum 15's are not available. so actually you have only the choice of buying a magnum 12 which I cannot advise about.

hmmmm..........so you are basically saying if price was the same Magnum is worst on the list? Cause........if you have money to waste get a W7 which means to say if you have the money then get a W7 cause its better. If H.O. alternator, and amp was no problem xxx is better than D2? Just curious what you are trying to say. I have personally owned some W7's, and I'd have to say I prefer the D2 in every aspect at this point. It gets WAY louder, handles just as much power, and is more efficient. I also have a xxx 15" coming, so I'll tell you which I like better later. I have almost 3000w ready for that badboy so power is not a problem. I'm not running but 1/2 that on the Mag and it gets pretty damn loud ported. After the short time I've had this sub I can honestly say it absolutely creams the idmax and e12a (just to name a few subs I've owned recently) in accuracy, and tonality, response. Obviously its gonna be alot louder cause of the size difference. As for the W7, it might be prettier but thats about it so far. Only thing could change my mind is if all of a sudden this thing fails on me. If the Magnum proves really reliable its got the W7 beat in ever category. The 13w7 did not sound very good ported which limits its output. If you want truely audiophile sound out of that sub it needs to be sealed and it just doesn't get very loud sealed before it gets to its mechanical limits. But the magnum is right at home ported. This sub kinda reminds me of an IDQ 15 with 10 times the balls, and ALOT more low end. Kinda like IDQ on steroids anc crack haha

I'll 2nd that gobs of power statement I bought a xxx to test out to compare to the SI 15", but I've heard alot of people enjoy the SI alot more. The fact that the SI weighs in 20lbs lighter really helps too.

man you guys are crazy running your 6's down that low. When the mid is moving that much (assuming you play it at any kind of high volume) it really starts adding distortion to the mix. The less that mid moves the cleaner it plays. 80hz is PLENTY low, and I would never go lower than around 74-76hz. Just a waste if you ask me. BUT we all have our own tastes and opinions. But I think alot of experienced people will agree 50hz-60hz cutoff is not necessary with a sub in the car. Even for the biggest audiophile

yeah just had my 15" installed last night too. 3.8 cubes (after displacement of port and sub) tuned to 32hz. This is one efficient sub I have to say. On my Idmax's I had to use my line driver to get my amp to push my subs that loud cause my damn sub amp takes UP TO 16v input They were 2 12's sealed, and this is a single 15" ported and its certainly louder than my last setup already. But its really crazy how accurate this sub is. What I like is that its not bottom heavy ported. I want to say its transparent because its hard to locate the sub, but not in the sense most people describe transparent, its just that there are no real peaks or anything from the sub to give away its location in the back. And if there isn't supposed to be blobby heavy low bass in a song, believe me the sub will not play those frequencies. I put in some Type O negative and I was worried because there didn't seem to be a lot of low end like with most subs, then I put on Korn and WOW and then i threw Type o negative and Korn on my home system and yep, not supposed to be any real low end on the songs I was listening to on Type O negative. But there was on Korn. I mean, the accuracy is just crazy. I don't want to say much more right now I'll do a review once I have more time in. But so far I'm impressed. I have to say I was nervous cause I was affraid this was just an all off the shelf guesstimated sub or something. But I can tell someone certainly had to have gone through alot of trial and error to get a sub sounding like this Good job nick. I'll give a good review either tonight or tomorrow night. I do long reviews I want at least 8-10 hours with the sub first. Rob

The Vipers have proven to put out more power than the Directed 1100. Do a search the 1200D did like 1600w, and strapped 2 of them did like almost 4000w!!!! So later if you want to pick up another one you will have MAJOR power. Class T's are pretty efficient too, can't imagine a class D is gonna help THAT much. You haven't had much luck with that amp in alot of respects have you?

got my 15" yesterday too, thing is a beast. Haven't hooked it up yet. My ported enclosure is being built by my shop on tuesday. Cant wait

I want to order a 15" magnum, gonna try it out. Unless I gotta wait a long time. Is there one left? I've emailed SI but no response. "is there anybody out there?"

I'm hoping its got a bit better SQ than the max's that I just sold. The max's at least in my particular car didn't have a very flat response at all, lows in a sealed enclosure were decent, but compared to most "supersubs" not great. Really had alot of midbass, and upper bass. But really I'm hoping to find something "better" for me than what ID had to offer. They were really good, but I think the IDQ's had better accuracy. I'm also buying a 15" xxx soon as the motors are in so I will do a comparo between the RE sub, ID sub, and the Magnum. Downside to IDmax's is no 15's available and personally I like the sound of 15's more than 12's for daily music. Not just for SPL, just their type of sound. you could tell the idmax's were 12's especially sealed, they sounded like smaller woofers, where I've had other 12's that sounded like 15's they had so much low end and punch.

well damn I'm glad I got a 15" coming to me then Can't wait to hear this thing. I'll see what I think and do a review of it on ECA, Sillusions, or SD. Wish more people would do reviews Need more detailed opinions on components instead of the usual "its great" "you'll love it!" "great sub" "great SQ" Sooooooooo you guys gonna get me all excited now or what?

oh wait alpine head unit? Alpines need their sub setting to be on +15 to get 4v make sure its up all the way. And maybe the Tantrum has low sensativity and needs the gain turned all the way up.

whoa, isn't that ppi only like 600w? or a lil more? And I know the Tantrums put out their rated power, somethin must be wrong with that amp or something? And put that badboy in a ported enclosure. Singel Sealed woofers don't get THAT loud. My e12A ported with 1200w didn't get THAT loud and it was probably louder than your sealed Mangum (only cause it was ported) I'm never satisfied with single sealed subs, even 15's. But if the PPI is stronger there is something wrong with that amp.

Do we need to preorder these still or are they ready to order and ship?
