Nope, they're nothing like yours. The 4th generation 4Runners started in 2003. Mine is a 2002.
-
Here's an image from a similar 4Runner to give you an idea of the cavity. Notice the window track running directly behind the speaker placement. Really bonehead design.
-
In related news, the 2000D has been delayed by 18 months.

Thanks to nmssd12 for the nice sheet of Lexan. Came in the mail yesterday. I'm planning to add a window to the ported box to show off that SSA ICON.

As promised, here's a better video. Apologies for the dirty windows, noisy license plate and goofy friend. I'll deaden it tonight (the plate, not my friend). Please keep in mind the sub has only been running for about 5 hours total at the time of the video. I'm having fun breaking it in!

I have a truly awful video of the ICON taken in my poorly lit garage. If you're desperate enough for woofer pr0n you can find it on my YouTube channel. It's been too cold to step outside and play around. The weather is looking better tomorrow so I should have a new video up then.

Never bump when you could be finishing the box and posting more pics.

Not at all. I adore the Alpine's interface and it sounds great, but my ears prefer something about the Pioneer. I seem to be in the minority but they say to trust your ears. I still have the Alpine boxed up. Need to eBay it or something.

Met denim today to pick up my new 12" ICON D1. Didn't bother taking pictures, everyone has seen them. Swapped it in for the closeout TC Sounds 12" aluminum I picked up a while back. ZOMG, that sub hits low. Admittedly, my other subs are the TC 12" and a pair of RL-i8's, so I have little to compare with. But even with the volume only around 33% (everyone is sleeping), I could tell a huge difference from the others. I'm really looking forward to taking this out tomorrow and having a little fun breaking it in. I'll be sure to take videos. :bigclap:

Great videos! That's one hell of a daily system.

Order online. I don't have any recommended vendors, but a quick Google for "plexiglass" led me to this.
-
Nice install. Looks tight! Where's the video?

I'm curious how you have that 3000D mounted to the box. I get nervous with my 1500D mounted to my dual RL-i8's enclosure. I can't imagine the vibration that 3000D must experience. Especially with the box bolted to your chassis. I used rubber grommets between the 1500D and the mount points, just for a little bit of absorption. Are you using anything like that? I wouldn't mind finding something even more effective.

Front Stage Amp

Sundown Audio SAX-100.4. No-brainer. -
I put these back into the 4runner to save a little space and have fallen in love with them all over again. We'll see if they hold their place once I get my hands on that new ICON 12 that denim has for me.

Jacob has always been very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to keep his customers happy. He designs quality products and understands the full spectrum of audio enthusiasts. I've purchased numerous amplifiers from Sundown Audio (both directly and through SSA) and will continue to do so at every opportunity.

On my iPhone while driving. :-P -
All of your links are mangled.

I'm really impressed by the quality of the box build. Nice attention to detail, great work. That is one buttload of MDF. I wouldn't have had the patience to put that together.

You really don't need a rear fill. When was the last time a concert projected from the rear? I was in my 4runner yesterday with a friend who was listening for the first time. He commented on how nice the staging was, including the rear fill. He was very surprised when I showed him it was just the tweets in the kick panels and the mids in the doors (and the sub in the back cut off around 80 iirc). Save your "6x9 funds" and invest it in your front stage. You'll be glad you did.
