    Recieved my MLI-65s.... PICTCHAS!

Pictures for anyone interested. Finally found the camera cable. Lyrical Wisdom has a track called Casual whose bass drum always makes me wish I was listening to these whenever I have my canalphones on. It sounds so real.

Thanks, guys. They're really great speakers. Lots of midbass in these ridiculously undersized boxes and they sound awesome. MO POWA!!! They're laughing at the 65W. When and if I find my camera cable, there will be install pics.

I'm not really sure how I did it. Lemme see. a/d/s set - $80 NINe.4 - $0 (Christmas; got it on forum discount for $185 though) H/U - $0 (Christmas from my Dad; split parents does have it's advantages; I'd give up the extra stuff for them to get along though; lol) Alternator - $0 ($225 but my Dad threw in $200) Wire - found it lying around the barn Battery - they were throwing away 4 from a logging truck so my Dad grabbed 'em. They were wired for 24V (2 in series then the pairs in parallel) so one shorted, screwed up the one it was in series with but the other two were fine so I grabbed one and the other went into the backhoe. PHD-10000W/2 - $0 I won a gift certificate to a spa which I promptly sold to my Mom and bought this for $500 shipped. MAWs - $165 shipped MLIs - $76 Pete's design - $50 (which was more than worth it) A few sheets of MDF for all the boxes I've tried - $60 The sheets for Pete's design - $0 (I installed a couple decks for my shop teacher) So I haven't spent much of the money that I have earned on this but I'm buying a McIntosh MC420 for $400 next week. I'm trying to figure out a full range system on my A-pillars. If I can arrange them right, it might be 4 CSS FRs on each. Then the NINe.4 will run a pair eD 7kv.2s which I will glass some door pods for.
  4. They seem great. I still can't believe Mark's prices. You would never guess that they're $36 speakers by looking at them. They even came with grills and hex screws. I'll be installing them tonight. I can't wait. You'll get a review on Monday. Since this is my first post, here's a little background: I'm 16, got into this stuff when I got my car at 14. I drive a Geo Tracker with a pair MAW12s, each in a PWK designed 4th order BP. The boxes are stacked in a wall sorta style. It's ridiculously loud even with the soft top. I have a PHD-10,000W/2 driving the MAWs which are wired to 4 ohms. My front-stage consists of a NINe.4 driving a/d/s tweeters and the MLIs will replace some crappy 6.5s. I have a pair of little sealed boxes screwed to my doors for them. Hmm. I think that's it. 200A alt and Big 3 with 1 AWG. Here's a video: R9A-k6HzRNs
