if you want to get 1200 watts out of that sub, you would need the 2 ohm sub, because the depending on which way you wire it, your 2 ohm sub will either be running at 1ohm, or 4ohms, becase it is a dual voice coil. the one ohm sub, which i mistakenly baught, will run either .5, or 2ohms, and you wont get the max out of your 1 ohm amp. sucks, so yea, definitally go with the 2 ohm sub if you want the max power out of a 1ohm capable amp.

well, i know i will be ok if i go up to 2ohms, ive got sundown sae1000d, but i really wanted to use my setup for what it can do. i dont want to have 600 watts, i want 1000. haha, ive already got about 5 people into an agruement about this on caraudio.com. and they said to come over here and see what i can do to get it replaced. i know you guys are more mature than them so this should be a better conversation. i said all opions are appreciated on ca.com and one of the mods came in and told me that the facts had been given, so no room was left for opinions. i hope you guys can help me out more than them, peace. kevin

it is a dual voice coil one ohm, i want it to be dual 2 ohm
  5. i didnt realize when i orderd my sub that if you have a dual voice coil sub that you cant wire it to be 1ohm , it will be higher or lower. i did get the universal option so i guess i can send it back and get it redone. how much does this cost to do. and does anyone from fi know if i would be able to maybe just send it back and get a replacement for a fee or somthing. thanks guys. kevin
  6. I'd try the outside...when do you ever see the wire inside the terminal anyway? You're making it harder on yourself by trimming the inside. becasue there wont be stubs of wires all along the part that is outside the terminal, you could taper it down to fit easier i think
  7. ok, thanks guys i think i might try redoing it and trimming the inside wire so its cleaner, but thats a big relief that it straight to do. peace
  8. Thanks for taking care of that Jacob, either way he was getting a new one. Sundown has a rep to uphold . you guys are aweseome, do you have any idea how many times i have explained who you guys are to people, i dont how such rock solid, quality, and great valued company hasnt gotten really popular yet, im a big supporter now, and all my speaker amps are commin from you guys in a few months, a++++ thanks a ton jacob, and even silverbane for your genorerostiy, i will be sure to show you guys my finished system to see your gear in action, i plan on doing a fairly complex setup in the next year to take to shows and show you guys off. peace
  9. ok, so i read the specs for the 1000d, and it says battery wire terminal, 0 guage, so i go on ebay and buy a 0 gauge amp kit. and then when i go to hook up my amp, the zero gauge wire is 1/3 to big, and i thought rockford fostage would be more accurate, maybe it was that , or maybe sundown made a mistake on my amp or somthing, i heard it was ok to take off wire to make it smaller, as long as you clean it up nice, and then electrical tape it, so that is how it stands now. my box isnt here yet. so i havnt ran it yet. all sugjestions are apreciated so much, this is my dream system and i dont want to fuk it up by jerry rigging it like that or somthing. thanks guys. kevin
  10. i lost my remote amp controller, and i am looking either for a new that i can buy off sundown, somone that has an extra. or one that i can get that is a different brand that will work on my sundown 1000d. thanks for the help. kevin
