    Mirror flex on 750 watts

theres alot of factors that can influence it cutting out. say your driving and u hit a pot hole, bump, take a sharp turn ext. its even possible that the vibrations caused by the engine could loosten it out if not properly secured. when mine was cutting out i could be standing at a red light or driving on a perfectly smooth road and it would still do it. for me it was the speaker wire input on the amp that got loose. also if your amp is mounted directly on your box with nothing inbetween to dampen the vibrations it could loosten the screws that way. easiest way would be to check all conections at all ends to make sure its good that way. then go from there

sounds like loose ground or speaker wire, had the same thing happen. check all conections. what amp did u have before that this one sounds noticably better?
  5. wouldnt adding a 3rd layer add to the port length and therefore change tuning? or would it be too little of a difference to notice?

how do u like the amp? my friends just about to buy one of those bad boys
  7. A friend of mine just got a car and wants a bit of bang in his trunk. Door speakers will be stock And just an amp for the sub. Still working on Convincing him on getting the rest. Car: 2004 Honda civic 4door Sedan Alternator: 70a? H/u: Probably my current pioneer 8500bhs? Amp: I was thinking 500ish watts Sub: probably 15" sealed. Goals: cheap and sq Box size: 2-3 cubes max total I'm open to all opinions
  8. seriously cant beleive i overlooked the x ..... looks like its settled then. fi x 12 ported on the soundqubed q1-750. thanks boys
  9. also true. any recomendations?
  10. Yes thank you. Never used it never will. Other than the gcon do u have any suggestions?
  11. For the box, sub and amp? Any other ancillary gear you need to fall into the $400?Just for the sub and amp. I'm gonna be giving him my old 4g wires and RCA's, and we gonna build the box with my spare Mdf.
  12. Now that's what I wanted to hear. Its most likely gonna be sealed for a while so this great. Thanks!
  13. Mind sharing your experience?
  14. thanks Alton, that amp looks awesome. i didnt even think of soundqubed. speaking of....how about their street duty 2.5 sub? i always liked the look of their cones
  15. For the sub I was thinking the RE sex15..is that a good choice?
  16. i was afraid of this. i think im just gonna play around with my current set up and not do any jurastic changes for a while. thanks guys.
  17. heard from alot of guys that this would be the way to go. sq wise. never really done too much research on this topic so i have a limited understanding how all this works. can i just swap the co axles for the mids? or do i need a crossover? also i plan on switching my jbl gto 628 6.5's with crescendo pwx 6.5 mids. heard nothing but good things about em. all amped on a rf 400.2
  18. I'm sure our definitions are worlds apart as I'm still fresh in the hobby. I'm happy with my type S's for now, but once I port my sub's and take out the back speakers I'm sure they won't be. I figured something around the 200rms power handling range. I really don't want to do custom door panels anytime soon to fit another set of speakers. Any thoughts? Perhaps recommended speakers at that range?
  19. Goals: in the future I plan on runing 2-3k to my 15s and porting them so I want something that sounds good and can still be heard over the sub's when I choose to blast it. I am considering a sound prosssesor somewhere down the road as well. Budget: not really limited but also don't want to break the bank. I wouldn't mind spending 2-300$ on a nice set of speakers
  20. all speakers are 6.5's. id like to have components but i really dont think a beefy mid would fit in the door, and dont know where i would put the tweeter
  21. you ninja you... my car being a honda with factory co axles limits my options. i dont want to do custom doors. curently i have alpine type s's in the front but i would like something with more power handling that will actualy fit in the door
  22. was planing on running em without tweeters. co axles in the front and mids and subs in the back. i was just looking at the price, for 60 bux i figured id give it a shot to see what they sound like. the mounting locations are in the trunk part of the cabin right beside my 2 15s, and no soundprossesing. i figured if i get the 8 ohm drivers then it wont drown out the tweets but i also might not be able to hear em over the subs?
  23. i bolded what i didnt understand ^ for my box i downloaded the predesigned enclosure on the website. it was the optimal box, 3.2sqf if i remmber corectly keep in mind this was my first real sub/set up. guys on this forum like quentin have been in the game alot longer than i have and have more experience. that being said i still think it sounded great and still does.
