I am buying 4 15's and I wanted to know which was the better choice. I understand that they both have the same RMS wattage I am going for more spl and lower bass. I wanted to know which sub would produce more bass in the lower octave. I have no problem as far as space I just wanted to know which produces more output.

I know exactly what you are talking about.

T-nuts. I have used some in the past that were 2 1/2in. in length. You can determine the size you will need for your application once you look at them at the store. There are different types of nuts. I have used the one with three teeth, but when it came to take out the sub it came loose from underneath the wood. I would use the one with several teeth that looks like a thimble with teeth. that before building a box you will have to mount them on the underside of the baffle. They also have some that you still have to mount on the baffle, but they have small screw holes that you can use to hold them into place. If you don't wanna go to lowes just check www.partsexpress.com They have some with special screw heads some they can't be easily removed. As for diameter. Don't go any larger than the mounting holes on the frame of the speaker.

I am interested in purchasing the BL 15 and I have a few questions. It says that the RMS for this model is 1000 watts. I noticed that steve meade has 4000 watts RMS to his BTL's. Does that mean that the BL series can take 2000 watts RMS and still function as a daily driver. How is this possible for steve meade when the speakers are rated at 2000 watts RMS or does he own an upgraded version?

SC What part of SC? I'm here in MB. Orangeburg. If you don't mind me asking what kind of setup do you have.

The only reason why I do use the bb is because on the radio I normally have it set at -3. Even though I have crossover networks to my speakers I am not too fond of the HU. It is not bad, but when you drive a van you a lot of equalization just to compensate for the distance of the speaker to the ear. I have had a couple HU, but none of them push my amp quite as well.

good mono amp for my 12's?

I hook up a lot of audio for people and like said earlier you will get what you paid for. People always want the baddest system, but wanna short on money. I always tell them if you can save money from a couple of paychecks to buy what you want then waiting a couple more would be even better because you buy something a whole lot more durable and efficient. For some reason they sound like you and wanna budget system that they will not be able to sell in the future when it is time for an upgrade. I will tell you however if you get a cheap amp do not short on the wiring because that will only make your problems worse. I have tooken a cheap amp and wired it up correctly and with the same speakers beat harder than someone with a RF 1000bd. That will tell you just critical hooking a system up properly is. The opti is a good amp. Also the lanzar vibe amp that puts out 1200 RMS @ 1 ohm is said the be pretty good. I think it was in the Carsound magazine in the year 2000. A lot of good things were said about that. Look for that. It may just be in your price range. -
Where are you from? I would like to see the build in person. I am also working on a build for my van. I already took out the seats and welded a platform together for the speakers. I am putting 4 BL 15's and 2 Lanzar Opti 4000D's in there.

What are the t/l classifieds? I was looking to get a Memphis 4ks. Do the amps usually run like new upon arrival. If you know of any other sites where I can get some I would appreciate it if you let me know. Thanks.

I am planning on buying two MA Audio HK802SX amps. If someone knows about this amp I would appreciate it if you could tell me whether it is a good amp or bad amp. I have seen the other amp of theirs in action. The guy had it moded and it was putting out over 6kw.
-
I wasn't talking about the 802sx I was talking about the hk4000D. I guy said that he modified his to put out more power. What do you think about the Lanzar OPTI4000D.

I have asked a lot of people about the massive audio amp and I was getting a lot of negative feedback. I wanted to get two of them.

Normally I try not to turn the gain past halfway. If I use the bass boost it never goes up past 3/4 the way.
-
Okay, so if I have a HU with a 5 volt preamp output would setting the gain at halfway be sufficient enough or would it be too much or could I move up 2/3 gain. I also have a digital bass processor how would that factor into the setup? But isnt he talking about the BL's not the BTL's Yes, I am talking about the BL's.

^^^^^^knows what hes saying (not like I need to say that ) sounds like you live somewhere a little podunk like me I wouldn't say that, but they are a little naive. One person gets what the next have and nobody wants to upgrade. I have never been to a competition because where I live at they don't wanna have car shows and things like that. I spent most of my time reading and experimenting with different things to learn what I have. Its ashame because people get mad at me because my system is louder than theirs, but they don't wanna put time and money into it. The people that have money do by better things, but thats all they have. They know nothing about the inside of audio. They are also mad because they spend way more money than I do, but still can't figure out why mines can compete with theirs. Can you believe the store where live doesn't have a demo vehicle or build boxes. I build my own boxes. The amps that I am looking into are the MA Audio HK802SX. The guy that has all the money that I will be competing with has 4 Pioneer Premeir 5102spls. He has 2 Autotek MM 4000.1D. Some people don't believe I can beat him but I was damn close to beating him when I had 2 Cerwin Vega Vmax 15's and he had 4 Orion H2 15's. He had two Autotek amps that put out 2400 RMS and I had one 2400 watt amp that put out 1200 RMS. That is what knowing about what you are dealing with can do for you. It can beat a fool with all the money and good equipment. I am needing yall assistance because I am turning it up a notch. I never put this much power in my car.

I guess I will have to just break down and buy the equipment that shows any clipping. I know how to read that much just wanted to see if someone knew. The audio dealer where I live at aren't my cup of tea. Sure they sale audio, but the guys never heard of atomic. What is done where I live at is small scale compared to what I do. I ask one of the guys for 8ga wire for my speakers and he asked me why I needed that big of wire for speakers. Normally I do pretty well adjusting it by ear. I can tell the slightest bit of distortion when others are cranking up the volume and I will tell them to turn it down quick. So if you run no bass boost on your amp what is it set at on your HU?
-
I normally do it by ear. I read something about checking it with a voltmeter. I have one of those I am kinda lost on checking the voltage input of the amp. I use the meter for everything else just trying to see what I am doing wrong.

More than likely I will be running from 6kw to 8kw. Once I have handled the business I will upgrade again to probably 12kw. Put it this way the only place I will be cutting corners is on the amps. Everything else will be setup so when I upgrade I won't have to replace everything to bring it up to par. I really don't know how accurate the website is but it has a calculator on there for the amount of batteries you will need. From what I have been told that even though the speakers say 1kw RMS it still can handle 1.5kw to 2kw. One guy said he had 2kw running to a Fi 15BL and it works fine. -

As for the ohm load I am not worrying about that because I can choose the voice coil for the speaker. More than likely it will be ran at either 2ohms or 1ohm
