Headunit preouts
oldschool4life replied to Jester1318's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Subwoofer rca's - is sub activated on the headunit? Swap between front/rear rca's. Try another rca cable. Use a portable device (MP3 player, etc...) directly to the amp to test it. Amp fuse good? Amp ground good? Remote signal good? Try another amp. -

Which position do you install the kit (1 1/2); with the radio in the upper or the lower? I've always had mine upper (sometimes with 1/2 din EQ's in the lower)... ...anybody ever placed their radio in the lower position?

frequently asked questions
oldschool4life replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in Technical Info & How To's
I've did this before back in the day (when I had a CD player with only one RCA jack going to a 4 channel amp {two coaxials and a sub})... ...I still have that "device" somewhere. Funniest experience about this: I walk into Circuit City/Best Buy (don't remember which) and asked if they sold a line driver... ...the salesguy asked, "what do you need it for?" I answer, "to drive a line?" Stupid idiot didn't even know the basic concept of a line driver... -

BIG NEWS OF THE WEEK!!! ...I have my rubber grommet installed on my extra rubber firewall gasket (company vehicle - can't alter it to much 'cause I gotta remove every thing when I turn it in). Can't install the gasket until I run the power wire (simple exchange). Since this is da low budget project, I was gonna pimp one or two 10 inch Bazooka "No Limit" subwoofers... <insert Funky Pup comment> ...but, I was too tired to go purchase them. Oh yeah... ...a short piece of wire already has a terminal (battery positive) on one end and the inline fuse on the other; I'll put that in when I run the power wire. Snap; I almost forgot... The Line-Out-Converter is all ready plugged in (I bought the male-n-female harness for my car and made a "T" harness). I pulled the radio months ago and plugged it in already. RCA's are standing by... ...volume knob is ready. I need to take vacation so I can accomplish these necessary tasks: 1. Connect power wire at positive battery post... 2. Mount fuse holder... 3. Exchange rubhber firewall gasket... 4. Run power wire... 5. Connect power wire to amp... CRAP!!! ...I need an amplifier don't I?
