Try watts classes, work well in local car shows/events. Good luck with your show

In the instructions it gave you a clip to ground it directly to the chassis but we just cut it off and hooked it to the wire ground that would normally go into a HU. I guess I'll throw in my friends HU and see if it works, it's been under thirty days so hopefully I can make it seem like it hasn't been used. Take a set of rca's and hook them up to the source unit in a friends car and take the other end and hook it up to your amp see if the noise goes away. Also unhook the second ground wire off the chassis of the source unit and use only the ground wire supplied in the source unit's harness. Hook the unit's ground wire to a well isolated area that has a good ground potential in the car ,other than the O.E.M point provided by the manufacture of your ride. Is the noise there with the rca's unhooked from the amp? last ,does the wine go up in freq with higher rpm's? What kind of rca's do you have, are they running across any power wires /ground even at the amp (in other words is there a birds nest in the trunk). Are your speaker wires running along the driver side of the car.

What you need to do is cut a broom stick to a length in which it will vibrate at your tunning freq. Wrap it up have it delivered via ups send a note with it and tell her to stick it up her a$$ at say 1:00 pm.Around that time , open the doors on your truck and let her rip. After that she won't call the law on you any more .You will be able to charge her for your services. Now your enviro. friendly with no noise pollution ,you are recycling your db's.You come out smelling peachy such a good public service. Keep it green with Sundown Audio

I think , I think you need to put a rush on those subs because I need to do a demo car and that 9518G (D1) w/ carbon dust cap and extra stiff suspension , is starting to look real tempting on the showroom floor. All this talk v.3 ,x subs is like foreplay and may cause pre ejaculation. I may not be able to make it till the new subs come out. I am trying to be strong ,but that is a long time.

Not sure about draw but the kicker is stable at 2 ohms and the sundown is stable at 1 ohms(and then some) so I guess it would depend on the ohm load applied to each amp. I would think they would be pretty close to each other.

X Scorpion makes 100A AGU style fuses .I stock them, find a dealer that has X Scorpion and you should be able to get them.

Dealers want a sub in this power range MUCH more than a 5-channel, so these are first Other amps are still in the works, but a 5-channel is not on top of the list. The SAE-50.4, SAE-75.2, SAX-250.2, and an SAE-1500D will come first. SUBS ,SUBS,SUBS,SUBSBUBS ,SSSUBSSBSUS sorry lost my train of thought ,damit. All bs aside ,wow they look gooooooooooooood.I want some now ,ok so quit horrdin, share the love .Also obviously people missed out on the sd1 they kick a$$.RIP SD-1 damn marketing guys and there huge magnets. its not the size of the magnet it how you use ,well you get the picture.

volts AC and a good cd with sine waves . You may also need a 10x probe depending on the volts div on the scope and speed of scope . You need to test your source unit first to find out at what point it starts to clip. Then move back in the chain ,eq's and what ever else you have in order, from source unit to amp . When setting the sub amp you should have the subs hooked up . Set all loudness off ,eq flat ,and bass at 0 (no boost or cuts). Set you Lpf and subsonic on amp. Usually you can set your headunit at 3/4 volume and as long as it is unclipped at that point!!! make sure you check your source unit with it unplugged to the next device in line when testing it( also protect your coaxials and other components to unwanted freq when setting the lower freq). You can buy most adapters at radio shack for your scope. You should hook up at the terminals of the sub amp at +/- like a speaker when setting it. Good luck and remember that you can have a small amount of gain overlap on music compared to sine waves. hope this helps.

It will take a some time for people to grasp the concept of there old school "looks". Their so use to huge magnets and monster power ratings that they can't believe when they hear them, that they are 200 watt subs give or take a few watts. I would like to install 16 of them in an Astro van with a 3000d.

The subs are still going strong. I have been torturing them to say the least and they have been hanging in there. I have demoed them to plenty of customers and still love the expression on their faces when they exit the car.

2 ohms should be eff.and do well on those amps/strapped as a daily set up. From what I've seen the saz3000d are strong just sitting in the box they come in.

No ,it is not simply an SPL tech. It is not the loudest point at which it will play. It can be tunned to 32hz and be the loudest at 39hz .It simply matching the freq at which the speed of sound naturally moves in your cabin or in a given length. can very some with altitude and temp. If you don't match it ,you can case cancellation. And yes it most certainly does give you a boost in db's with out cancellation.

I compared the mtx9500 to the BTL and according to it's build the BTL is a better sq sub .I did not compare the "9100 and the SI mag ,etc and most other true sq subs ",as you say.And the BTL's qts did make the difference in this case.I did not say every sub is determined this way. There are other factors as well including the box. I would say that your box had most to do with your opinion. If built properly and tunned to the standing wave of the vehicle the BTL should do better in sq . Maybe you prefer boomy bass? Everyone likes their own thing. Once again I'll say IT, this is another opinion just like mine. The statement you made above has no factual evidence behind it, other than(" take more power"),obviously if some people say BTL and some say MTX then they are just peoples preferences. Honestly I don't care for either sub,but the person who posted the thread had those subs. where did you come up with that ? Did not come up with it ,the Installers Institute did. I think your confusing QTS WITH Q and name brands don't make a difference to me there all resistors. As far as the sq wonder is concerned I don't remember saying that .I think I said something like the BTL will sound better than the MTX 9500 in this case .I never said it is the greatest sq sub in the universe. In another post I said I prefer the ID Max for SQ so please reeeaaaad all the post before posting . As far as 4hp's, I'll stick to my (3) SD-1 10" they sound just fine. Please feel free to contact the Installers Institute (ask for Jason, he's the head instructor)and explain to him why you would not want to match your standing wave.Or better yet explain it here with some facts and I'll be glad to email it to him and post his reply.

it was only 142???? WTF???? I had to play some kinda gay cd they had. The judge made me playing at 58Hz my box is tuned to 34hz in a SUV I think 45hz would have been better a guy that own a big audio shop here with $10,000 setup in my class only beat me out by a couple db's I know I should hit around 150~152, but the CD they made me play I didnt like it. My box is tuned at 34hz. I'm louder playing Young Geezy. Plus they tested at the footrest. my first comp, and I'll get better. I'm riding to Ricky H's place soon to let him help me get ready for another comp soon Better luck next time. no doubt.

You are an imbicile. The MTX9500 IMO, has better SQ than the BTL... and gets quite loud off of little power. 1000-1500rms. The BTL, has the ability to get louder, and will take QUITE a bit more power. nG Opinions are like a$$holes everyone has one, or is ONE . Also it's spelled imbecile:noun :A mentally deficient person. It also can be used as an adj. When you have solid proof of your argument please post it ,other wise it's an opinion just like mine. But for what it's worth here's my proof BTL12 : QTS .21 (very accurate or tight bass) . MTX 9500-12:QTS .55 (not very accurate or boomy bass)There's no argument to that the BTL will sound more accurate, have a wider bandwidth ,and flatter response for SQ.It also has a RMS power rating of 2000kw compared to a 1000kw . Thanks for wasting my time.

ummmm, no....... The MTX 9500 is a very musical sub in a decent box, it just doesn't handle high power very well. The coil can take it, but it's mechanically limited, and will smack the backplate. It's definately not a one note sub. How do I know? Because I owned one for a long time. I have installed 10 or better MTX 9500 and they have a large ripple "boomy"when ported. They do not have a wide bandwidth it is very peaky and narrow. Now an ID MAX by Image Dynamics ,that's a musical sub that can take a fair amount of power for a good and loud "sealed" daily set up. But that's just my opinion and what do I know. You said it yourself "they will smack the back plate" ,good subs don't "smack the backplate"at rated power, that ought to sound good in a sq system. Drive that sub at high power around 60/70 hz and see how long it will last? Well for that matter buy some SD-1 10" and put (4) in a set up with a saz1500 ,now that's a good mix of both and won't break the bank. Won't be a record setter ,but should satisfy most.
-
Good luck: sq,spl ,daily, comps, and parting the seas.Your not asking for much are you ? sounds like what you want is a loud daily set up. Use the Btl, the 9500 is a one note wonder and a knock off of the DD 9500series which is Often imitated but never , well you get the picture.

More power ,more power ,more power
