It is an awesome tweeter! A little big but the sound stage it has helped me create is unreal.I love how the first thing everyone does when they listen to it is grab their music to see how it will sound on my setup.

80prs help
handman84 replied to smashedz28's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Network mode is only if you are running active. The extra features are crossover slopes and crossover frequencies. Your passive crossovers are taking care of that for you already. IMO it would not add anything to your setup to switch to network mode unless you are running your setup active. -
Man I would love to pick this up. Just bought 2 xcons and can't justify it at the moment Damn I wish money wasn't so tight. GLWS man

Looks good man, thanks for sharing. Always wanted to hear those subs in person

Wow! It is always so easy to say, "That won't happen to me"...until it happens to you! I wish there weren't so many people who have to learn things the hard way. Glad nobody was physically harmed

Looks great man. Nice job on that box. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on that Z. It looks like an absolute beast!!!

Was looking for a bad ass sub. Thought that would be a sundown. Was directed here via the all powerful interwebs. looking at subs in the store and just happened upon the forum link. Been here soaking it all in ever since...btw I never got the sundown sub ...I am running SSA!!!

A with gain setting if you are unwilling or unable to upgrade your install. Turn gain on amp down, set volume to whatever volume level you want to be able to turn it up to, set gain at new more impressive volume level, call it a day...If your friends still aren't impressed get an ssa sub

Looks great man.

That sub is a beast! The G is a great sounding sub. I had a 12" gcon until recently and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the IB

Got my second xcon today! Going to put them in a 3.25ft^3 sealed box asap! Can't wait to hear how they sound.

Preciate the kind words sir!

Just received one of Rick's xcons (formerly rick's:) The man is a stand up guy, sold me a great product at a fair price, and really went the extra mile to help me out, from extra packing to help tracking down the other sub when only one showed up today (not at all ricks fault. somehow they managed to ship one to california and one to salt lake) Got one today, the other is en route, should be here saturday. Rick has been great to work with every step of the way, can't give enough positive feedback about the experience.

have them secure like this with a little velcro for daily driving. Still playing with positioning. Can't say enough about how amazing this setup sounds. So glad I went active. Next up...fiberglass!

Got the mounting rings all sanded and looking purdy Time to play with tuning and positioning now

Good to know there are still people out there who are true to their word

I know! Its crazy! The xcon also blends so well with my new setup its unreal. I have sat a few people down for a demo and the reaction has been the same so far...Holy shit that sounds amazing! Then they run and grab their favorite music to hear it in my car. lol or I get damn I bet this song would sound amazing in here. I love it! The new setup also sounds great at low volume levels which I am very happy with

I absolutely LOVE these tweeters! So clean, clear, crisp, and loud without a hint of being harsh, uncomfortable or difficult to listen to.
-
Got a nice pic of the xcon next to the gcon. Can't believe how the x dwarfs the g! and the gcon is no slouch. Love it! The other xcon should be here tomorrow
-
Just as clean outside as it is inside. Very nice!

Considering going active would like advice.

I just got my first 2 way active setup hooked up this weekend and I am blown away. I have an 80prs and couldn't be happier. I love having the controls in the dash and if you are familiar with pioneers menus it is a breeze. If not it just takes a little time playing with it. The advice on drivers I got and am happy I followed was stay away from exotic cone materials, especially for your woofers. A good paper cone is easier to tune and make sound decent from what I can tell. Also, if your stock door locations suck like mine, it will help TONS to have a tweeter that you can cross low to help pick up where the install inhibits the woofers. -
Beautiful car. Great build. looking good man

Not bad sir. I will probably try them sealed so I can have room in my trunk for my golf clubs but knowing me I will want more. That will give me another project in a few months i guess...what do shops usually charge to meter your system?
