OK so the other day I was showing off my BTL to some friends. Gain is set correctly with dmm, and about 10 seconds in to a song the sub makes a weird noise and then freezes. Well I am thinking I fried the sub and Ill need a recone kit, which made me upset to start with because I only gave it like 2400wrms. Well I take the sub out of the box and what do i find? Not a burnt coil. But a broken magnet on the motor. The magnet is litterally cracked and pushed in and caused the coil to scratch and get stuck. What would cause this? And how can I get it fixed. This sub was never abused.

Hey guys I currently have a dual 2 ohm 15 fi BTL I am looking to add a second 15 btl but the problem is to get the right ohm reading at my amp I am going to need 2 dual 1 ohm subs. Is there anyway I can send this one in to be changed to dual 1ohm and then order a second?

Ok so I have an Fi BTL. And my car is a hyundai tiburon. The sub is 15 inches. Right now it is in a box i built for my old 15 inch type R. The box is not made of MDF it is made of particle board. The box is 2.83 cubes and it is tuned to about 34hz. I am Building a new box tonight which will be made out of mdf, dimensions will be height=16.5 width=36 depth=15.5 with a 3 inch port and tned to 34hz. it will give me 3.56cubes. Do you think I will notice an actual differnce in sound from this?

how high is the gain on the amp actually turned up

This is for a daily drive but I do goto comps also. Ok so ive been trying to get a lil more space but all I have is 16.5 deep 16.5high and 36 wide I tried changin a bit but still the most i am coming out with is 3.5 inch wide slot port going back and a ben with 12 more inches of port. 33hz tuning. 3.563 cubes or this 3 inch wide port bend 7 more inches and 3.833 cubes.

Ok so right now my friend has an alpine type x 12" woofer. It is powered by a 1100 watt JBL amp. Well needless to say we are not happy with it. Ohhh it sounds clear but just not as loud as he is looking for. We just ordered him a Hifonics ZEUS-xx it will probably be pumping out around 1700 watts RMS. I am telling my friend to order a loaded BL. I am hoping this is quite an improvement, we were just wondering what everyone else would think about this setup compared to his old.

Just wondering why no one threw this out yet. Tech if you wanna go by kickers specs then we should be comparing a 15inch BL to the 12inch kicker. At least thats what kicker would say correct. 15inch cone area and all. Dont get me wrong it could be me just being a kicker hater which I am. Everyone who comes to me to do installs want kicker this kicker that. Im like FI DD or RE over kicker any day. I just dont like their sound at all no matter how loud they get. I can't lie tho i wouldn't mind screwin with a SOLO X

Problem is I dont have much more room then this 16.5 H 36w and 16max deep. I can't really think of a better design then what I had

15" off a herc-xx around 2250 wrms

Hey all im from northeast PA, and I would really like to hit up some competitions soon. I won my last one in Oct with my BTL hit 143.3 on tl at the dash. Loudest of every car there. It was on music. I really goto a couple other comps so if somone could let me know of any coming around soon i dont mind drivin a lil bit to get to one.

Yea I should have specified that it is a slot ported box. I hit 143dbs with my old box in comp on a tl at the dash. It was on music, song was actually bossy by kellis, and I hit 142.6 on throw it up. This is done with a Hifonics Hercules and with a BTL with only cooling option.

so my port right now is 3 inches wide 11.75 inches long where it will bend to another 7 inches for a total port lenght of 24 and a port area of 45. Will that be ok?
