Oh, I see. Thanks.

So November for the new heatsink. When is the SAX-125.2 expected to hit the shelves?
-
Just how good is the SQ of the SAX-100.4? It's good enough for the average Joe but is it good enough to drive a set of SEAS Lotus Reference 6.5" comps? I'll be running a Zapco DSP6-SL for my processor and the comps will be run active. I think 100W per driver is enough power, but am I going to be satisfied with the SQ of the amp?
-
The fan I have looks like this one.
-
I listen to my music pretty loud almost all the time. I guess I will leave the fan that I already have in there. I just hate that thing because it's right behind my seat and it's loud.
-
I don't compete, my system is a daily pounder. I will not need to turn down my mids/highs and I wouldn't ever want to either. This is for my listening enjoyment for as long as I have my hearing.

Is the wired remote control for the SAZ-1500D a bass boost or is it a level control meaning will it boost a certain frequency or will it adjust the entire output level of the amp? Also when I set up the amp, my head unit outputs are 5V so I set the gain on the amp for 5V right? So when I attach the wired remote for the amp, regardless of what level the remote is set to I shouldn't get any clipping? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, but I've never owned an amp with a wired remote. One last thing, the SAX-100.4 also comes with a wired remote, does it work the same way as for the SAZ-1500D?
-
I'm going to keep the remote, I'm just not going to use it on the 100.4. It'll sit in my closet and collect dust.
-
Do you think one SAZ-1500D and one SAX-100.4 mounted in this location (behind the driver's seat) would be okay or do you think I'll need a fan? Also, would it make a difference which amp to mount on top of the other as far as heat goes?
-
Thanks. That's basically all I needed to know. It's nice to have a volume control for the sub where I can just turn a knob instead of going into the settings of my head unit. The wired remote for the 1500D I can use, the wired remote for the 100.4 sounds like something I will not use.
-
I wouldn't use a bass boost but if the wired remote is a level control where it doesn't just boost a certain frequency, I would certainly use that.
-
the wired remote on the 100.4 controlls the bass boost even tho its the same remote as trhe 1500 and 3000D Okay so the remote for the SAZ-1500D is a level control and the remote for the SAX-100.4 is for the bass boost. Is that correct? I just don't get that because the SAZ-1500D has a bass boost as well. I think I'll wait for a detailed explanation from Jacob as this wired remote is more complicated than I thought.
-
Is the wired remote on the SAX-100.4 only for bass? If you use the wired remote on the SAX-100.4, I guess it would control the levels of all the channels?

I sincerely hope your amps are as good as everyone says. I'm going to put your Sundown amps to the test next month when they will be powering a set of SEAS Lotus Reference comps. Like I said, all processing will be done by the Zapco DSP6-SL which includes time alignment, x-over, EQ, and phase adjustments so all the Sundown's have to do is supply the power. I'll be sure to post some impressions once I have it all installed.

To you people commenting on what the Zapco's shouldn't have, have you even tried the DC Reference series? If not I suggest you not knock it till you try it. It's got more features than you think.
-
I run the DC Reference 360.4 and 500.1 and I couldn't agree with you more. They are more expensive per watt but the processing features alone make it worth the extra money.

Same here. My car shop told me the remote for the Viper 7900 is a hassle as you have to charge the thing everyday so they recommended the 5900.

I have no idea. I know you can display something else on another screen but I don't think on the unit itself. I've never tried that either. -
If it were me, I'd go with Zapco Comp C2K6.0X's for each sub. For subs I'd choose FI Q's in whatever size you desire in a sealed enclosure. For midbass, I'd go with AudioPulse RMB 8's (a pair in each front door) powered once again by Zapco Comp C2K6.0X's. The mids/highs would be AudioPulse True Planar's (one per door) powered by a Zapco Comp C2K4.0X. For processing, I'd run an AudioControl DQS for my EQ followed by a Zapco DSP6-SL for x-over and additional equalization (if needed). Of course I'm just dreaming about all this, but one day I could have it.

If he's going with either Zapco or Mcintosh, he must have a pretty big budget for this build.

Zapco Amps like higher Volts. -

Higher than 5V preouts would've been nice, more background skins, sorting my flash drive properly. Other than that, I like my H/U. Some people don't like the function of some of the buttons as well as the layout on the screen, but I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me in the least. -

It does not sort alphabetically or by ID3 tags. I have no idea how it sorts the files. I can name a file 01 but it'll show up almost at the end, and 04 might end up being first. The weird sorting is only when using my flash drive, with a MP3 disc it'll sort everything alphabetically. Screen clarity is pretty good. Nice and bright (adjustable) although I haven't really watched anything on it other than a few music videos. I don't think it's possible to turn the screen off at all unless you turn the entire unit off. It is a touchscreen so you need the screen on anyway. I don't know how much the navi was as I payed for everything at the same time, but it is Garmin based. -

I don't think the processing features are very good but I don't use them. It has a built-in EQ which I also do not use. 5V preouts are a plus although higher would've been better. I use the USB input the most as I put all my music on to a flash drive. The way it sorts the files is weird, and when you turn on the unit you have to wait about 3min before you can change the song using the flash drive. The nav works great. It'll play just about anything ie. divx, xvid, DVD-Audio, etc. It took me a little while to learn how to use it but now it is no problem. For me, it does what it's supposed to do. Like I said though, I don't use any of the processing features as my Zapco DC Ref Amps have much better built-in processors. I hope that helps. If you have any other specific questions let me know.
