I built my IB in a line array also. Of course it was back when you could get AA Avalanche 18's. I only used 4. Your gonna love the efortless bass. You'll get usable output into the single digits. My living room has 3 large openings so the room won't pressurize, but I can still get 110 dB @ 10Hz fourteen feet from the mouth of the array.

My bad. Feel free to delete if necessary. Sorry.

X2 I had a buddy get knocked out by his dual 12" box in his little mazda hatchback, he's got a nice little scar to go with it.. He never really thought about the chance of getting hit by it in a wreck (he hit a guardrail head on at a T intersection) I'd Find some way to bolt it down. granted the seats should slow it down or possibly stop it in a wreck... but you can't ever be too safe It'll get bolted down. We may pull it back out when we pull the rear headliner to reattatch the roof pan to the bracing. After we put it in, it'll get secured. If he was in an accident bad enough to rip up the rear seats, I'm not sure there'd be much left of the front end (or him) at that point. I don't even like thinking about that.

I just submitted 2. -
Gravity at this point. In a wreck, it'll never get past the seats. I haven't figured out a way to strap it down that would look decent as well as actually hold it in place. Maybe large L-brackets?

Here's the rear speakers and seat as requested. Vids still to come.
-
The second seat won't go back in untill I finish the box that fits between the seats for the rear speakers.

We'll try to get some up. My son brought it to a local audio store this weekend. He played it for them while one of the workers put his cell phone on the roof. It was getting major air.

We did the big 3 on the charging system. The alternator has been changed to a 200 amp. We also put an Optima red top back by the amp. As far as sound deadning goes, we took every interoir panel out. All the body panels, floor and door interiors got a HEAVY coat of undercoat when we did the previous install. The only panel that didn't get deadned was the roof. I'm sure we'll give it some attention once the headliner is out for the roof to be reattatched to the bracing. I've also got a couple more JBL's to install between the second row of seats.

Well, we finally got it up and breathing this weekend. A few observations: 1) It really wangs. 2) The Ficars seem to laugh at the amperage I'm giving them. The SSD's are rated at 750 RMS which is what they're getting, but they seem to want more. The electrical in the van is holding out well and not even bouncing the volt gauge on the dash. 3) It really wangs. 4) We're going to have to fix the roof. Apparantly the skin has come loose from the bracing and it's flopping like a kleenex in a windstorm. We're going to have the roof painted in a month or so and I guess I'll pull the headliner (groan) and have the brace reattatched to the roof. 5) Even though the drivers aren't broken in yet, it really wangs. 6) A couple more pics.

Thank you both.

After reading the FAQ, it seems that the speaker wire outputs are parallel wired inside the amp. I'm trying to wire a SAZ-3000D for a single one Ohm load. Do I need to sum the positives and negatives outside the amp or can I just pick one set of + and - and get the full wattage out of the amp. Thanks. Carl
-
After thinking about it, I used one pair of speaker connections. If they are parallel inside the amp, I wouldn't think it mattered which set to use, or be necessary to sum them outside the amp. It seems to be working so......................
-
I'm referring to the speaker connections on the amp itself.

Thanks, Anthony's worked hard and had to sell some stuff to get it all.

bassrace? what do you mean a 49.9 thats not the dbs right? http://www.termpro.com/dbdrag/rules/index.asp?Page=3 We also shorten it to 22.7, 30.9, 49.9, etc. I read the page but didn't see where they drop the one, but I believe you. FWIW, he hit 146 in the van with 2 12's. I'm thinking he'll be in the 150's with this rig.

I've farted louder than 49.9 dB

?? It IS a regular old Safari van. We've had it for 18 years. Actually, my son who now owns the van was brought home from the hospital in it when he was born!! We changed the wheels from 15" to 18's and lowered it, tinted the windows and put LED's under it. Now we're going from 2 12's to 4 18's. It's kind of a work in progress. dad what i think he ment was that he wasnt expecting a van with rims or nothing like that just a regular van lol Hey Bud!

well, we finally had a chance to do a little work this weekend. We got the wiring beneath the carpet and the carpet put back in. Some of the trim is in but most of it still needs to be installed. Next will be the amp and wiring, then seats and trim. I figure another 2 hours or so next weekend and we should be able to light it off. We still should have seating for 4 when we're finished.
