  1. A single 12 setup would be the best option spacewise in my trunk and help me achieve the goal of LSQ....lol. I found a box that fits the criteria within the recommended specs for each woofer http://cgi.ebay.com/12-RE-AUDIO-SE-ENCLOSU...1QQcmdZViewItem the box is 2 cu. ft. tuned to 32 hz.... which is within the recommended enclosures for each woofer as i have previously stated. Yes this box is in essence prefab...but its properly built. I dont feel like building a box myself...someone can build me one for cheaper than i can get this one w/ shipping. Here are the contenders... SSA Icon 12 $249.00 Fi SSD 12 $189.00 RE Audio SE 12 $172.49 AA Arsenal 12 $175.00 any others in this price range? keep in mind my criteria are: ability to play in the 25-40 hz range with ease and clarity punchiness.... loudness..or the ablity to impress when i feel neccessary Sound quality(clarity, fidelity) Blend w/ the frontstage(that is install dependent as well though) PRICE....im in high school on a budget! I want your opinions and disadvantages and advantages of each woofer. Why you would or would not purchase the woofer. Thanks Sham

idk about u guys but these drives look ALOT like the early mid 90s(especially round 93-98) kicker comps... whats funny about that is that i have a pair of kicker comp 10s from the mid 90s sittin upstairs in my room in a 2ft^3 box...them bad boys are old but stil rockin and are pretty tight...people used to think my dad had 2 12s....they only ran off of 100 watts a piece but took it like champs!

I ran the Thiele/Small specs thru the Efficiency Bandwidth Product (EBP) formula...and got a number of 49.0566...which is actually in the range of suited best for sealed, but right on the borderline for being a flexible enclosure sub. Fs/Qes i think ill try it in a 4 cu ft. ported tuned to 30hz http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...mp;Fs=&CE=0 and this sealed 2.5 cu ft enclosure w/polyfill(about 2-3 pound per side) http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=260-648 and keep the one that sounds best to my ear

Great set, but no where near the 130's... whachu mean by no where near the 130's???? do you mean i will be under that number or over? I think he means your component set won't get you into the 130s Meaning your sub stage, if it was in the 130s, would be louder than the front stage. I think they should make a new classification of car audio setups....It gets pretty loud and doesnt sound bad doing it...more like loud but doesnt sound like poo... lol Im pretty sold on the subs though w/ these subs would u go sealed or ported if i was looking for accurate deep and big bass?

    smooth and low

thanks for the feedback...i love my ears...so output isnt my goal...i wanna wow people with music they know and nuances they never heard...sq is the ultimate goal...yes 2 15s is not the norm for a sq(LSQ) system but hey...everybody is different
  24. First let me start by saying...im only 16 and this will be going in my first car! I was super confused on what sub setup to go with...so i will be going with a single 12 ported tuned to 30hz...which is pretty low in my opinion. The two subs i have in mind are the SSA Icon and the FI Q. The Q box would be 2.5 cu ft. net, the ICON box would be 2.25 cu ft. net. I feel as though these subs will give me excelent SQ with an ability to jus flat out wang from time to time. My car is a 1977 Buick Regal. As of right now the front doors have severe leakage problems...especially the front passenger door. Because of this problem...i was thinking about running a rear fill. Probably a 6.5 component set...maybe a GOOD set of coaxials because of a lower budget. I probably could fabricate some custom kick pannels for the fronts and mount the tweeter in the dash or maybe right behind the front seat in the upper quarter, where the side interior lights are, or something like that. I have some sets on mind like these... component http://sonicelectronix.com/item_5144_Clif+...gns+PX650C.html http://sonicelectronix.com/item_9319_Infin...nce+6020CS.html http://sonicelectronix.com/item_9115_Kenwo...KFC-X1710P.html http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17540 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=3059 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=5207 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=2950 coaxials http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14525 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=11401 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17764 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=15357 http://sonicelectronix.com/item_5150_--+CR...gns+QX6550.html I also plan to get a good dampener...like some RAAMAT I was thinking of maybe running the componets/coaxials off of the head units power...but probably an amp a 2 channel like these http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17890 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17038 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=11692 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14320 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=16325 and a sub amp like... http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=16338 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=16367 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17847 http://sonicelectronix.com/item_9391_Clif+...+CD10.1DLX.html http://sonicelectronix.com/item_7369_Power...SA+1000.1D.html http://sonicelectronix.com/item_8731_Light...S4.1000.1D.html i know its alot of info but am i going in the right direction?
