I'm going to use this to bring up questions I have or to discuss certain things I've thought about so I can get a better understanding of it. Please be patient with me though as I am still quite young. The first thought I have is about inductance. Does the cemf have much effect in the range of subwoofers? What about inductance modulation?

Yes, that sounds good. Whatever gets better sound... 600w/driver...muahahaha sounds evil.

Yes...the budget is pretty high. I couldn't really define a cut-off point though. Just use common sense... Chances are, I'll hire the top people in the area to install it because of the price of the components in the system. I'd like to go with McIntosh since I really like the wattmeters and see it as very good. I plan to run to run 600w to each channel (bridged McIntosh), or 300w if I REALLY don't need that much. I just want to make sure that if anything gets pushed past the limit, it's the speakers, so I know there's no clipping whatsoever. The number one priority is a huge sound that has super-high definition high quality sound from as high as I can hear to as low as I can hear (some sound control probably...dynamat and such or whatever). It needs to sound really full (bass), but very well balanced. Hopefully high budget can help overcome the lack of space. I just need to have trunk space. I wonder if you could fit 4 12s or 10s with Zapco's more powerful amps powering them while still making it look good. The quality side is more important than the SPL side, but SPL is still very important. I hate the feeling of disappointment when I turn it up and it sounds bad. You mean active EQ? Or..what?

The main objective here is probably going to be LSQ. I'd like to have it look "normal" when this is all said and done. The sub...that will be interesting. We'll see. This is partly a show-car (you know, with graphics all over it and such), so obviously it needs to look presentable. In terms of both speaker and sub, quality is the main concern here. I was thinking Zapco or McIntosh for amplification...that's about all I'm pretty sure about. Thanks for help..

I just realized something. I don't have any mdf. I don't have any tools. I don't know anyone that has either. I'll have to save more money to afford the wood and use of tools. Hmm. Well that's ok. It's kinda far down the road anyhow. Edit: Nevermind about that... I have a friend that's willing to help out when the time comes... I have a new question now...If I tune to 19hz with 20ft

I thought I replied but I guess not. Heh. Well I'm liking the idea of TL and the FS of the Fi suggests strong output to high teens. I still need to learn a good bit though. I wonder if I can design a box which will hold multiple 18s and a TL that will accomodate the extra driver area if I add on..putting only one driver on in the beginning. Hmm....lots to learn on that subject.

I would too...I wish I had more of a budget.

I was planning on using one to power an FIQ18...and I believe 1300-1500w would around its actual output at that load. The people I know have used them have had mostly good luck.

Yeah I just recently got registered and see that there is a wealth of knowledge to be had and can be very useful in picking/designing a sub etc. This is not the first site I registered at, of course. =P Many before.

Yes thank you

Hey, this is my first post here at the SSA forum (oh whoopee ).... My question (YES, QUESTION!) concerns the tuning and enclosure sizing for the Fi Q18 D2! Firstly, I'm not too sure about the relationship between enclosure volume and tuning frequency. I did see the enclosure sticky, but am tuning differently than the sticky shows and am also not sure if the size stays the same for all tunings or not...I'm thinking it changes. I plan to tune to 16hz and wondered if 30ft
