I will buy an 8" All kidding aside, do you have a weight on the motor? I mean, it is obviously huge, my guess is over 100lbs. My software predicts 91.4 pounds without a basket - we'll see how close it is when I get it So close, lol. 91.4 is still absolutely beastly, lol.

Actually now that I look at it the Hifonics uses larger resistors and if you look at the preamp/input sections they are quite different. Also if you study the main section of the board there are differences albeit quite small.

Well, the AQ and the Hifonics are the same board. I bet the AQ does use better components than the Hifonics though.
-
Thats exactly my thought. I have heard good things about the AQ amps but there has to be a reason they are cheaper, they just aren't built to the tank like standards that the SAZ line is.
-
The AQ amps are decent quality I am sure, but there is a reason the Sundown amps cost more, they are higher quality, use higher quality parts and are probably stable at much lower loads.
-
That motor is HUGE!! Also, it can be hard to find quality in China, but it can be done as Jake has and also Nick is having the new Mag v4 and BM v2 built in China and they look to be of great quality.

Sweet vid, the Nightshades are sweet subs I am sure, but more than I ever need, lol.
-
Hello Nick, lol. So, what does that smiley mean? Yes, no, maybe?
-
I would like to see the X series get made. Convince Nick to sell you the design for the Mag V3 and resurrect it, I would love to see that driver live on.

Jake had an X10 and X12 proto back around this time last year, but it wasn't up to where he wanted it to be so he had more made. I believe I even remember the acronym he was using for the new cooling he was designing, D.A.C.H.S. I think. Anyway, they look promising, but appear to be on the back burner due to a more pressing need for other products.

Overhung or underhung? Look like OH from the pics as it seems you can see coil between the top plate and the basket, but that thick of a top plate looks like an UH driver.
-
Oh yah, not gonna drive 14 hours Yea, 14 hours is a long drive. I have to do 9 hours to get to school and that is on the edge of what I would be willing to do.

5 drinks and a bad day afterwards, what a pansy Sriously, 10 beers in a night don't even get me terribly drunk anymore, 15 or a 5th of vodka will though.

No battery? My D2400 is my starting battery. I need another D2400 though in order to run another 1500. Well, just a standard NAPA battery, nothing special at all.

Nice score, you beat me, lol. I did a 143.6 with my 2 subs on Outkast - Speakerboxx Intro, sealed TL mic on dash. I was revving to about 3K RPM however with no batts and stock alt.

Damn shipping SOBs, FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, they all suck at shipping. I think I am going to start a shipping company just for subwoofers with the goal to handle them with care.

Don't forget Lewis Black. He is almost as good as Carlin on political commentary and comedy, but Carlin was way better than Black in all other comedy. I am definitely sad to see Carlin go, he was hilarious and always made me laugh, he will be missed.

Holy crap man, only 3 years older than me!

Happy Bday Jake! Maybe someone should buy him a Nightshade or something
-
He is already done with the 1500D, once the current stock and next shipment sell off the 2000D starts, its a done deal. I like the line up suggested, it's perfect. Top end: Nightshade NS-4000D High end: SAZ-1000D, SAZ-2000D, SAZ-3000D "Entry" line: SAE 500D, SAE-800D, SAE-1200D

Indeed... very minor defect. It's very good to see that you keep extremely tight Quality Control standards and if anything you get does not live up to them 100% they do not get sold as A stock, awesome to see a company like that and it is why I plan on being a Sundown user for years to come. -
We're just that damn good.

A technical understanding of Polyfill
bose301s replied to DevilDriver's topic in Technical Info & How To's
Exactly, I was going to point that out. Anyone remember PV=nRT from chemistry? Well pressure * volume = # of moles of gas * a constant * temperature. In a sealed enclosure Volume, n and R are all held constant meaning P~T, they are in a positive linear relationship, meaning that as one goes up the other does. This can be shown in tires, in winter the pressure goes down and in summer it goes up for the same reason, V, n and R are all constants. This assuming STP though, but that is generally the case. -
I was just wondering if you are part of the whole DC Shoes group? Just wondered since similar name and similar logo.
