So heres the thing. I got my Q 12' about 3 days ago and my amp just came in today. So i screwed with the gain and the hz and put the db all the way up. So im pounding really hard on the volume of 4 and my amp (Kicker Zx 1000.1) go's to 11.. I dont want to give my sub to much power on the first day. So im rollin the streets of downtown hot springs and my (thinks hes hard) friends like "dude you got your system" and im like "yea broseph its tight" and hes like "its def not as loud as mine but it looks cool, i like the fi symbol" so im like yea ok cool..(he has 2 memphis Mojo 15's powered by a lanzar)..lol..(lanzar) so anywho he turns it up (cranks it up) and hes like yeaaaaya son..So im like alright then so i hit up that white girl and blew his Sh*t outa the water. BUTTTT Thats enough for story time. The lows are insane for this system on the level i have it on my amp... but its really not touching some higher mids and highs very well at all and i know it can be fixed better then wut its at right now. How should i adjust my gain on my amp Its about 3/4 up and my hz are on about 175 out of 200..and the bass boost (Db) boost is all the way up to 18..What should i do to make it more dynamic with hitting all the notes??? If you read all this then we're def best friends..Ok leave some info or help please..love all of yall.

k so the video is on hold. For my sister said the lens wont work and it wont turn on..I THINK SHES LIE'n
-
pinkfloyd's lie'ing..we're actually all like this. Issues with systems run big though for real in hot springs, it doesnt help that its one of the most humid citys on earth and its always hella hot...Hints the name "HOT Springs"...Like for example today i felt like a had a blanket on it was so humid and that mixed with 98 degrees is rediculous.and if we wana go on that mixed with a already hot amp equals ahh 3rd degree burn......I think the only reason my system cuts out is because i have my speakers on to high with my sub. but when i turn the audio down (SPEAKERS) i can turn my sub up as loud as i want and it wont cut off so really its not all that bad and it doesnt run behind that bad anymore (today)...YES my system does have a mind of its own, shes cool like that...Anways im gonna make a good video of it now so illl post it up on this thread when its done...Thanks for all the help really yall make stuff easier for noobs : D btw that computer smiley is really weird? kinda creepy?

That's not the sub as-is. Read this quote: That was after the picture of the sub was posted and after he was told to check for discoloration on the coils. u mean before i was supposed to check for discoloration i think but i think its straight, if its muffd then glissons will check if for me when they install me amp with bigger wiresssss. hoooola

i have no doubt my wires are run correctly..my friend told me that if the grounded negative wire is touching the power wire then it can cause heating problems. Idk if it worked because i havent run it since i seperated them about an hour ago. That doesn't even come close to answering my question, how about I make it more specific. What gauge wire are you running and to what do you have it connected to? 5 guage from battery to fuse box to amp And your ground? its a 9 guage wire i believe. Im going to this place called glissons here in town and theyre gonna rewire my hole system. Im gonna get them to do it in 0 or 2 guage. I think that will take care of the hole over heating because i was thinking that since my wire is so small its only giving out a 1000 watt stream and my amp pushes 2000 sooooooo thats a bit of a strain when the volume gets up. It stays cool when the volumes down i figured today so this should take care of the hole heating problem with my amp. It should also juice up my sub a bit as well...I CANT WAIT WOOT WOOT

my amp has been really hot every time ive played my system..Ive had it for 2 days now. Is there a reason why this is happening, its hurts to touch if you keep your hand on it for more then 3 or 4 seconds. Only on the outsides. The amp is a zx1000 kicker. My sub is also get hot along with the amp, but not as fast and not near as hot. Is this normal..This is one of my first systems

I vote 1/2ohm install. As far as caps go everyone has their own opinion, I love my Alumapro Cap 15 and wouldn't run without it but then again I also upgraded the electrical as well. Wire the sub in series my friend, if you don't know how find out how asap. i wired in series with a wire from one posotive and one negative to eachother and the other two to the terminal cup..i have the dual 1 ohm so that would make it a 2 ohm load im runing at
