SSA is going to sell them but they havnt even gotten one to test ? why not?
-
I understand that. I am talking about info on them ...not places to buy them. how can they expect to be seen as worth a crap if there is no info other than negative info about how their product has gone downhill? All I can find is the stuff that says the v2 stuff was overated and crap like that. I need to get something and this would work great if it were reliable and not sounding like crap and did the power it was rated at. hell....it seems like Sundownz is the only amp maker with any support on here...and maybe Zed
-
sad how there is nothing to be found on the net about the newer stuff
-
I am interested cause the power is good and the size is perfect for what I need now.

Does anyone know when Zed started putting in different mosfets in the minilith? I bough a mini but havnt recieved it. Steve told me they changed the fets to higher voltage ones at one point. He told me you cant see the parts unless you remove the clips with special tool. I asked if you could tell date by serial but havnt heard back on that and dont know if I will. I just want the mini to be all it can be.. I dont want to send it to Zed for nothing though. I would think serial # would tell ...anyone know? or anyone with newer version can you tell me what your number is?

if that dont work out then JBL Power series PO1022 is a really good sub. takes a small box and act more like a 12

tips on setting a ZED MINILITH up??
gentlejax replied to gentlejax's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I tried it...didnt work out as planned. I know the amp is rated at 28.3 volts output..so it should have been easy...except when I touched the + and _ the amp went into protect and I decided not to mess with it . setting it with ears....old way...although that is how I aways do it...I almost think setting the sub amp with the dimm would be better. unless you trust you ears on wether the sub is playing clean or distorting... -

I am going to actually use a dimm for once....easy enough looks like.....but the mini has a few more controls than most amps I have run.... any pointers on what to set the amp at? test tone recomendation or is 50 good enough? -
minilith install clarifications please , I am a little confused

I got my zed minilith today. online pdf isnt the clearest. looks like I use unputs 1-4 if I run full range to amp or input 5 if I run mono to amp. my question is I have left and right sub output off deck. that means I use left or right to go into #5 input on amp..right? http://www.zedaudiocorp.com/PDF/ZedManual-RGB.pdf -

I got the rca part figured out. I ran a Y splitter from my left /right sub rca to the mono input of the amp... but now I am confused about the response on wiring the sub. its a dual 2 ohm sub here is what he told me. first part makes sense ...2nd part doesnt... I have the sub wired for a 4ohm load now and its wired bridged at the amp...the amp has 2 sets of terminals for dual coils or 2 subs.. Dear Michael, The dual 2 ohm coils can be wired in series = 4 ohm and connected to the amplifier (200w of power) OR you can parallel the coils for 2 ohm and again connect to the amplifier (400w) The manual can be downloaded on our website ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: Michael Zeda <[email protected]> Date: Tue, 19 Oct 2010 11:01:26 -0700 (PDT) >Mr. Mantz >I finally got the mini in and I want to make sure its hooked up correctly. > >I have left/right RCA sub outs from the deck. I use a Y splitter and join the signal and run it into the mono jack on the amp. yes? > >Now other question. I have a dual 2 ohm sub. I have it wired to a final 4ohm load and 1 set of wires from the terminal of the box. > >would I get more power if I ran 1 set per coil off the sub to each terminal of the mini? would the amp see 2 ohm or does it internally change the load? > >I do not want to damage the amp nor run @ 1ohm > >that is the reason for the elementary questions. I want it hooked up right. I am not used to all these options > >sincerley appreciate the help. nice amp btw. > -

looking at this in my head....I have 2 rca outputs for sub off deck....so do I need to run "Y" splitters off them into inputs 1-4 ? I think that is how I am supposed to do it. cant see what else there would be to do. -
he told me the serial is no help so I am going to see if I can find the original owner.

I am running a PG RSDc 12 off my JBL BPX500.1 and I am just wondering if the minilith would be a step down. powerwise I am sure it would but I wonder if the mini sounds better or has more control of sub. my sub can take lots of power but doesnt need it. its got a efficiency rating of 94
-
no I didnt get it from Cutra..I know leo myself...got it from DIYMA member
-
That is if I can run this mini in 1 ohm.....or else its going to have to be 4ohm...but that may not be a issue either
-
I like the JBL but I still feel the ZED has the edge in controls...has more options...I went ahead and picked up the mini....I think its better built also..but not positive.... luckily I dont need a ton of power for my sub. I am using a ADCOM for my fronts so I would like to get more sq out of my sub...and not SPL
