The Q doesn't have enough motor force for a 22" cone, only the BL and BTL can push it. + SMD hehe man that would be FUN! but, $$ wise and for what I want... high Xmax, low Fs, wide passband, flat responce... a 22" IB3 is what I'll probably get I'd love to play with a duece duece SMD if I had 2 badass amps though

yes it is 54mm split wound. Xmax is the most important to me, but yes, you can't pick a driver over 1 spec. The next highest Xmax I am aware of is 38mm -
As far as sheer linear displacement (Xmax x Xmax x Sd) does anything have more Vd? I know there are some other very nice drivers such as the TCSounds drivers that have 38mm Xmax... what other drivers are in the same arena, if any, if not, whats closest?

those were done 4 years ago, hexi ran 4 of them off 2 VR4000D's modded in his wall.... he was aiming for a pluggable port wall with good daily plug and good SPL plug. You pretty much summed it up, was an MT motor with SQ softparts... LOUD SOUND QUALITY driver ask Pete, or maybe even Tuan, I'm sure they know them inside and out http://www.hexibase.com/gallery/index.php?...DE4OWU4NWM1N2Jk http://www.hexibase.com/gallery/index.php?...OTQ1MjUxYjljZGM

thats all i wanted to know. I'm not a bitch so I am never ever scared to admit that I blow chit up all the time and that it is my fault. I think for a person that bends the rules so much, I do pretty damn well. Throwing a 2600 watt amp on a sub designed for IB in 20.8 cubes @ an ungodly 16Hz and lasting as long as it did? Some credit has got to be due! But I'm guessin not, but that's OK. At least I know I can email nick at fi and get immidiate help from a wonderful gentleman and one hell of a business man
-
well good, cuz the more I look at the Q, the more I want to drop the IB3 22" with the Q motor in the wrong box with the wrong power and know when I blow it up, it is MY fault and not Fi's fault
-
sounds good to me
-
I know I am worst case scenario, cuz it took about a week and a 1/2 or 2 weeks to get the sub when I ordered it.
-
it doesn't stop there.... it may take 1 week before there is a shipping number given, then 2 more weeks before it's even picked up, then once you've waited a month for the whole process to begin, if you're me, a blizzard out east will take an extra week.... and now... we're expecting a 3 day blizzard here too! But no doubt, if, and when you receive it... you will most likely be happy LOL Status: Exception Your shipment is currently within the UPS network; however, an unforeseen event has occurred which could result in a change to the Scheduled Delivery Date. I'll say this... its an excellent way to learn and gain experience Can't be any worse than those JL subs that spiders were cut open on to deface serial numbers. It will not have the same specs as it had when you got it. You now have a custom driver hehehe

yup just a 48" square baffle I think, free air... imagine if harnessed to an enclosure! Exodus is basically Adire, Dan Wiggins still helps Kevin. I was hoping they were gonna call the 21" Maelstrom-X the Tumult-X -
COMMERCE CITY, CO, US 03/27/2009 11:00 P.M. ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS hahaha. I'm never gonna get it. They had to pull over.

I believe if you have an angle on 1 side, you add the top length+ bottom length /2 and use the average.... measuring down the center should be the same I think you would 1/2 the length of where the angle begins... if the short side is 10" and the long side is 12" then 11" port length but, if you "make up for it" by making the oppsoite end do the opposite, you have to account for both ends... take off double

so a cone that had lots of rise and fall, say VVVVVVV cone..... but no flex...... though it has more surface area than ________ would it actually move more air, would it actually have a larger Sd (I know the answer, no it will not)

BTW I left out the jackhammer on purpose... but screw it... they claim 2.5" 1 way Xmax 2.5 inches = 63.5 millimeters but I didn't want this to turn into anything about the jackhammer (unless anyone feels it is deserving?) -

exactly so is there any other driver out there with more than 50mm Xmax? Or is it just the 06' XXX? -

kryptonitewhite replied to baggedbirds.com's topic in General Fi
I ordered a recone kit, much cheaper than shipping the driver both ways. I thought it was just 120V x 20A to get a rough... I've blown a lot of breakers and popped a lot of fuses putting subs to sleep -

the sicko will be a 21", started off as 30".. 5" coil, parthenon based motor... but it's gonna be a while cuz the specialty basket design tooling is too much, so for now with the 21" and 22" craze, Kevin decided to do a 21" Maelstrom-X for now. Right now, $3,500 is what he's seeing for a Sicko -
good trick there, got me... like "what??!" "oh" lol

The wait is for you to be placed in a queue with all the other orders until it is time to build up whatever you ordered. UPS visits Fi more then once a day. . . oh, just a stab I'll shut up before you guys call UPS and tell them to bring it back cuz I'm an ass hehehehe
