    VIDEO 4 18's 50 cubic feet 20" diameter port 23Hz tune 14,000

where u at in this god forsaken state? I'd like to see your setup as well! I think the camera is severely overloaded close up, but as I get 20 feet away, it can handle it and does a more accurate repro... I noticed that right away too! heres another:

    VIDEO 4 18's 50 cubic feet 20" diameter port 23Hz tune 14,000

im not expecting to get any decent numbers, I know its 4 18's, walled, and gobs of power... but I'm no competator. I'll be pleased to get 140's but in all reality, I dont even know what 140's really means! 4 IB3 subs... undermotored infinite baffle drivers. 50 cubic feet is a lot. 23Hz is pretty low tuning. But it sounds amazing! here's another vid for yall

alright well we will knock another forum off the list. I'm surprised "Thee Forum" made it this far, usually the people like you guys come out early in this forum. Dueces.

No, the problem is not with others. Remember your home build, using 2 2x4s to secure 4 sheets of 4x8' MDF together? Everyone said "you need more bracing" but you did it anyway...then came back with "lol I guess you guys were right!" When people were telling to you brace more...even posting pics/links to Elemental Designs builds showing MORE than adequate bracing, it was somehow condescending to you. When you did this: ...then said the switches got warm, and people told you not to tie 14 wires together with 1 little 14ga for power...you did it anyway. And got butthurt on top of it, even though it's completely opposite of how wiring should be done. People can say things nicely to you, but it's the "haters gonna hate" attitude which leads people to say things not so nicely to try and get through to you. Yes, this is in regards to DIYMA. It's not "hating" if you're doing something utterly incorrectly! Found this pic last night...fits perfectly. Haters gonna hate...but you're flying a plane with only 1.5 wings... Like I say in a lot of threads, I couldn't care less if you cut the top off to make a convertible since it's your vehicle, but the record needs to be set straight. yes I remember with my home build I had 30-40 different "this is not going to work because" between 8 different forums. You gotta remember that youre not seeing every post. 1 out of 30 things people were right on, and it's an easy fix. Add more bracing. No plane crash here. as for butthurt. once again, youre not following every thread. I made sure to poin out to specific people I was not refering to them for a reason. Because on 8 other threads other people said it differently. I don't get butthurt when people politely point things out. I get butthurt when people think they know everything, think they have every piece of the puzzle, but they do not have every page that has been written. As for the toggl switched getting hot. THE TOGGLE SWITCHES GOT HOT. They have lights in them. They DO NOT HAVE DUCT TAPE ON THEM. They are being mounted in the panel that I have a lot of pictures of for you to see. When it is finished, i will mount them in it. The duct tape is 6" away from the LIGHTS that got hot. The duct tape is simply shielding connected wires. The wire DOES NOT GET HOT. I am sick of people saying stupid shit. You said several stupid things. Just stop. Go play on another thread.

ya I kept her big on purpose... I actually have a gap in the back where I have to make up for it, but, I didn't want to just fiberglass the front speakers to the roof and watch them smoke me in the head from the pressure after ripping off ya thats my olf HT surround sound there

cracked open that spool of 14 gauge and ran the tweets, 4.5's, and one 6.5 with it and used 3 old for the last three 6.5's. Put some caulk in the corner of the resin for a little extra reinforcement and make sure it stays air tight.

For everyone that has at least given constructive criticism, who has said "hey I would..because" or "I wouldn't have...because" without being condecending, arrogant, or rude... to everyone that has said "hey, looks nice" "can't wait" subscribed". To everyone with something good to say, even when saying something that could be done different. Thank you all so much! It seems like this will never get done, but you all keep me motivated. To those of you who think i'm cutting every corner, so far as to say this thing is a hazard to innocent people getting demos once complete. To those that said I messed up bad by choosing to foam instead of doing 2x4's (though this thing has plenty of 2x6's ) without doing so politely. The foam situation has panned out, it needed more time, it has cured. To those that knock my use of duct tape... there is no permentant duct tape other than for my wiring, and what i have used it for other than that thus far has worked great. thanks. For those that think I screwed up by not getting pure copper 0 gauge that cost twice as much ( not the guy from AVS, you have been very helpful man..thank you) For those that think I messed up going with "infinite baffle" drivers ( not the SQ world champ that basically set the parameters for the IB3s ) for those that think its so awful I put the front stage, so to speak..correct or not, in the roof (not you Fallen, we never really cared what you thought anyway ;) ) For those that think it's too much power for the IB3's... well Ive run Lanzar OPTI2000D on them, Hifonics BXi2610D, EP4000, as well as Regent HT-391 showing me just how efficient they can be with no more than 150-200 watts. For you, well, I'm not gonna use glass matt on the cardboard divider for the 4.5's either...so there! As my boy Fiddy said: I need you to hate. So I can use you for your energy. But I will use the glass matt where the gap is between the MDF roof and the frame where it meets the windshield

Alright I let the skeleton template cure and pulled the roof back out. It worked well, I traced the skeleton onto cardboard, ripped the template off, and now I'm glassing off the cardboard templates. I haven't thrown the glass matting on yet becuase the cardboard wants to tip. After the first layer cures then I can hit it with more resin, put on glass matt, and hit it with another layer..process repeat.

oops i must not have taken pics of them all wired up... I only use 2 of them right now, for the deck, and they have all 3 hooked up. the other 4 I cant hook the 3rd wire till I run the remotes..and until I run them, I don't use them anyway. when they are off, the lights are off as well. They are all 6 common grounded. Oh, and thank you!

that thing is a year and 1/2 old, its been thrown around, picked at, proded, kids like to unravel it... if you look at the shape of the former, you know full well that couldnt have happened before the cone was cut off. It wouldn't fit around the pole piece and in the gap

    2 Exodus Maelstrom M-21"s

If youre looking for 18Hz-30Hz, tuning to 15Hz- 23Hz would be your ticket. Youre generally solid at leats 5Hz below tuning in-home with room gain. In car you get more gain, cabi gain, so your 24Hz would be sweet. Why waste the rear output from the driver? If you're looking for flat responce this isn't the way to go...then sealed is... or a higher tuing... but if you're looking for exaggerated sub 30Hz material, port it. If you tuned too low, the box acts likem a sealed box once you get above the frequencies where your port helps anyway.

    2 Exodus Maelstrom M-21"s

AWESOME idea. It's sure not for everyone. I made sure to reply to your OP before reading ahead, cuz I won't be surprised if I see some hate Maelstrom-X is the best of the best for low end/wide/flat responce IMHO. Adire Audio RIP... The Tumult and Brahma were cherry. RE and AA doing the XXX and Avalanche. Those were the days. XBL^2! Low Fs, high Xmax, low inductance. Not for your average car guys who dont generally care about Xmax, Inductance, Fs. Tuning so low? Thats another argument in itself. Seems 32/33Hz is the "magik number" for the bottom. Anything lower and people start getting skeptical. Well, 99% of the people that flame on tuning 25 or below have little to no experience tuning that low and listening to music. You can play with Audacity all day and tell me 99% of music won't go below 30Hz, and I say well you don't know where I'm coming from and where I'm going They're expensive. $550-$650 a pop...depending. I was setting up a deal to get 12 Anarchy's and 6 MX21's. Kevin wouldn't do the 2 anarchy free per 21 purchased on all 6, only on the 1st one. If he would have, I had the money in paypal just waiting for him. IDK if he's even sold much more than 6 since he released them!

I'm sorry Best Buy! I was steamed, now I'm good. Whenever I shop there, I hear so much about how much better than Walmart BB is. But it's not. So I took the wire back, it' a non-return item, but she did anyway..and it was a rewards purchase, so i need to wait for the awards to be reissued. I picked up Inside Man with the cash portion of the refund, and I'll get The Incredible Hulk or something with the rewards. I forgot to mension I ordered another roll of 50ft 0 gauge, same place, same wire.

so, this morning i woke up motivated (usually it takes me a cpl hours, shower..check email, check forums, drive somewhere...then maybe start working) I was ready to grab the wire I got at BB and start running it. I spent all day running around town like a ree-ree, wasting time. I just grabbed my scrap 14 gauge I've had for years and ran it...all of it except the 2 tweeters... I haven't even opened the roll of yellow yet. It took me all of 10 minutes. But I'll look at it this way... now i know walmart still carries the cheapest 14 gauge in town. I might get some DVDs instead of the 16 gauge. So the running around was worth it? IDK.

alright, i ran to walmart, they have 50 foot spools of 14 gauge scosche for $13 and 50 foot of 12 gauge for $18. its even pretty blue and silver. I think i have enough old yellow to do all this, but if not I can go get more at walmart. Ill take my 16 gauge bb back and get some movies if they let me. gonna go install some wire.
