Brainstorm Daydream... RIP! 25Hz tapped horn for van
kryptonitewhite replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in General Audio
It would have been nice to have my posts acknowledged. It would be nice to get an answer that either yes, it was my idea and thank you...we will make great use of it for an even better cause, or nope, it is just coincidence that when I asked for your opinion on the exact thing you just built that you made no mention that you alread just happened to have the exact same plans, or that you didnt pay any attention to my idea at all back then and then you got approached to do a huge project and suddenly you happened to have the same idea. Not only does it suck that my posts were ignored, but to send me 3 private messages gloating about the success of my idea, giving me private Kicker corporation information and asking me not to share, and giving me secret information about my idea's performance that you haven't let out of the bag yet...asking me to sit on it when I confided in you about my idea, you brushed it off, then stole it! I'm not done yet: in addition to all speakers basically sounding clean at low levels, all speakers can be EQed as well there, I feel better
-
Just in case you were wondering what the hell I need TS Params for, it's cuz I was trying to help this guy: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1354309 someone that is part of a forum where pics and vids and being told they "screm cleanly" doesn't determine driver choice for a specified alignment
-
What vids are you looking for. It's a pro audio mid. It's not like it's going to flex a car. They just scream and do it cleanly. Im not loking for any vids. I am looking for thiele small parameters. Pretty sure every speaker in the world makes sound "cleanly" it just depends at what level... any speaker at low level should sound fine, it's how loud you can go before that changes. Here's a vid for you though, I will share that i already know they can "scream cleanly" and also flex a car, cuz this guy is doing 126dB@58Hz with them. oh, how about that shit!

My idea was implemented to this 9-11 tribute the HouseWrecker. 11hz Twin CVX-15 Tapped Horn - Page 5 - AVS Forum -
For most everyone else I bet youre right, the only part worth LFE interest is the cave. Thats because youre not 20dB hot down there. I wouldn't have even known this stuff was there if I hadnt seen the blades. My dialog at the end sucked, owell wasn't about to scrap this over that.

(directed toward members on AVS) yup this movie sucks! But about as bad as most "horror" films or "scary" films. You guys could have warned me it was 86dB hotter than the rest of the movie and that it lasted almost 4 minutes. Been a long time since the entire house was completely involved, but never for so long. I had a crowd gathering OUTSIDE MY HOUSE on the OTHER side! At first Brandy came marching in observing everything making noise, then she went back to the table like nothing was going on.

I got an email from them yesterday, one of those auto generated "haven't seen you in a while" deals... I kept clicking it and it would take me there, i'd try to log in, and it would shoot me back to my email. Just now I clicked your link and it brought me there logged in under a new tab but also changed this tab... just acts weird! I'll maybe start a thread there see how it goes

The New Daughter 38 minutes in

18 minutes IN man! So you don't have to watch the whole movie to find it. I have a HUGE thread on AVS forum about movies with 5Hz-15Hz content with over 26,000 hits... people save the list in their phones so when they are out buying/renting movies they can easily locate them oh ... ok ... Cool ... Link to AVS Forum please ... My favorite place to go for a little while now, pretty nice people over there for the most part, but more so.. damn smart! Im starting to like Down South alot too! http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1294892

kryptonitewhite replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Yes, and I found a few videos with the bazookas but its not the same Youtube user or same build that showed the reservoir in the back -
maybe I missed it but any TS params? pics vids and "OMFG!" descriptions are nice and all, but how about controled testing with real numbers? Other than the FR graphs. Thanks!

Notice the gass lamp is off? It doesn't rip itself out of the ceiling anymore without it I went up in the attic several times last year to try and build a new frame to support it but there are 2 false ceilings to get through and no way to get down there without falling through.

Automatic rifles, punches, gatling gun, old fasioned rifles, doors shutting, my favorite was on The Poker House.. kick ass movie to begin with, but when the hot chick puts the needle down on the record player my house almost fell apart..scared the shit out of me but was so blissful at the same time! 15Hz on up is somewhat easy to get now days with high excursion drivers and power so much cheaper than it used to be... but to get above 120dB below 15Hz, it is a hole different game. You can definitely tell the difference between 5Hz and 10Hz, between 10Hz and 15Hz, at very high clean levels... whole different experience. I love it! It's why i tuned so low in the van and gave them so damn much airspace... I EQ 20Hz 25Hz and and 32Hz up 10dB and 40Hz down 10dB, leave 50Hz flat, and EQ 63Hz 71Hz and 80Hz up 10dB... cant describe the deep stuff below 30Hz that is in music, that know one really knows about, because their systems are 10dB-40dB louder from 30Hz on up and mask it.... yet that 63Hz 71Hz 80Hz kick is exaggerated too -
Havent made vids forever or run high levels till I made a few figh sceen shots today. I didnt realize I had this much output at 7Hz.

Two 7hz sine wave vids rockin the ceiling
kryptonitewhite replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in Videos
People like to say you only need to tune to XXXHz, anything below that doesnt matter... thats because they have never experience movies that have true ULF content on systems that can creat that ULF at or above reference. ULF heavy movies are insane, but even regular TV shows have stuff in there that no one would ever know with a flat system. I am 20dB hot down low because up high 20dB lower seems louder and more powerful when it's not. Its definitely fun thats for sure! -

kryptonitewhite replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in Videos
Thanks man! If this thing was in a basement, my parents or otherwise, I'd be 130dB from 10Hz on up and 125dB from 5Hz and up My house, my van -

Figured out whats going on with battery drain, expensive way to learn
kryptonitewhite replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Good to know! Id guess aresistor or capacitor, but a diode would work the same so long as the polarity were correct. -

For over a year now I thought my amps were fully shutting down when the dome lights did. They have not been, but I didn't start suffering low volatge the next morning until recently.... which means that my batteries must have been stronger before but doing this over a year has damaged them marginaly. Today I was waiting for my GF with the ACC in the off. After 15 minutes the toggle switchs shut off and the deck shut off...as they should. I looked in back, sure enough the amps were off... wait... the red lights on the 3 KX amps were off and the blue display was off on the SX...but I saw a faint green glow. I stuck my head through the port and looked at the bottoms of the amps, the green LEDs were on! I kept waiting and waiting, they looked very dull... the LEDs on my home theater EP4000s take a few seconds to drain the capacitors. Kept waiting. After 2 minutes I knew they were going to stay on so I flipped the toggle switches, the toggle switch lights were off, into the off position and the LEDs went out right away. So there must be a very low level current left over after the dome light times off, not enough to make the toggle switches glow or the power lights and displays on the amps but enough to leak through the amps!
