DRACONIA - traces of soldering and spots of flux
SacredTanakh replied to greg3d's topic in ZED Audio
I bought some neo pros 10s from them on amazon and the packaging was a little off. They turned out to be the wrong ohm. They refused to do anything about it either. not going to buy from them again.- 9 replies

Are they actually in stock now Aaron? it says in stock and ships within one business day but, its been 4 for me and nothing yet. I was suprised when I ordered my Bc3500 that it wasn't back ordered like usual. Just wondering if I have to wait an large amount of time or not.

SMD DD-1
SacredTanakh replied to Bryan Mckendry's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The point is, its just as easy to tune the gain to the music you frequently listen to in the first place. Therefore useless. -
I definitely wouldn't trust them, they have an odd assortment of items and some ridiculously low priced products. These alone make it a terrible idea to buy anything there: http://www.acertw.com/subwoofers/2-power-acoustik-mofo122x-12-5400-car-subwoofers-woofers-mofo122x-subs-box-p-11440.html http://www.acertw.com/subwoofers/2-new-kicker-40cws104-10-1200w-car-subwoofers-sub-box-amplifier-amp-kit-p-11624.html http://www.acertw.com/subwoofers/alpine-swr12d2-typer-12-subwoofer-with-dual-2ohm-voice-coils-p-10898.html

Thanks Aaron! -
Cant go wrong with about 90-120in of port for an 18. I can't say tuning it to 40hz for daily is a good choice though, but to each his own.

Haha yes, yes it does..

Figured Id show you guys how the explorer turned out. Currently working on his mid and tweeter pods, and beauty panels for the rear. Insanely flat response from this wall. pretty happy with it so far, just needs gobs of power now. Got this baby installed, works great. Got the wiring for the alternator and VCM all nice and tidy, ill take a picture and put it up. Oh and I ordered my 2nd Crescendo 3500, and dual inputs on Saturday.

No. Okay, well it depends on what you mean by can. You "can" run a Kicker L7 with an Fi Q I suppose, just not a good idea. Anything that creates a difference in t/s parameters is a no no for drivers playing the same frequencies. Even worse if it shares airspace. I already new that, but sometimes new versions of the same driver are close enough that they can be used together. anyways glad you got it figured out OP.
-
Email fi directly for a definite answer, but I believe you can run the older Qs with the newer ones. Someone a while back had the same question, maybe you can dig it up with the search.

Nice, definitely looks intense in the videos. The doors look seem to blend in so nicely, love it. Your builds have been some of the very few, which really inspired me to go bigger and better. Thanks for sharing!!

Here is a few of my SQ songs, I usually find them in lossless and declip what I can before I use them. Desperado - Eagles (Slightly slowed down you get very good bass and midbass out of a really great song) Hotel California - Eagles (Nice kicks and overall a well balanced song) Heart Shaped Box - Evanescense (Really really great midbass/midrange, nice sharp highs) Iron - Woodkid (strong midbass, song has a great feel to it) Lets Wait Awhile - Janet Jackson (Balanced, and one of my personal favorites) My Immortal - Evanescense (Great song, I found the song to be permanently clipped, although you can get rid of most of it) Motivation - Kelly Rowland (Slowed this song sounds great) Young and Beautiful - Lana del Ray (I found the midbass/bass to be distracting, but the vocals are awesome) Dance with the Devil - Immortal Technique (classic song, and in lossless doesn't show its age!) Notorious Thugs - Bone Thugs N Harmony (Another classic that is very well balanced) Save The Best For Last - Vanessa Williams (cheesy 80s love song, but sounds absolutely amazing in an SQ vehicle)

DSS Tridents and Twisted Sounds S-10. Road to 166dBs
SacredTanakh replied to stevemead08's topic in Build Logs
I'm interested in what you think of the SHDs after you test them out. -
When I change the doors to leather, I'll do these too, but for now the fur is just to match.

SacredTanakh replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Off Topic
Prices are actually very reasonable, not marked up super high like some vape stores. Sweet! -
I would definitely try to go sub up and port up considering the layout of the vehicle. On another note, why do you want to tune so high? going for SPL or SQ?

It's coming....Expect a 6" version first as we have high demand for it. No ETA yet. I thought some mid ranges and tweeters would look great in your line up, Cant wait to see them! Hope you guys do a large efficient soft dome tweeter instead of a super tweeter though. My question is how well do the new wardens do in a more musical box tuned real low? (around 28hz)
-
Yeah there might be a sleeper build someone's been hiding but I doubt it haha.
-
Thanks guys, it did a little better then I expected. But as soon as I saw that number on the first run I wanted a solid 150 so I was a little disappointed that I didn't gain that .6 on the second run. The c pillar wall in the explorer I built did a 146.2 at 40 and 30 hz on an AQ 2200 @ .25ohm Exact same score. Which is impressively flat response but I honestly thought it'd be louder then mine. It's weird being the loudest daily build in the state, the only people louder have burp boxes, and the loudest guy here has 4 dd 15s in a wall tuned to around 50hz on 8k. He does 151s. Not many systems here unfortunately.
-
I got 149.4 sealed at 39hz. One amp and no alternator yet so I dropped to 12v. I got second, the first place did a 150 @ 60hz on two dd 9900 15s in a burp box on 5k.

Mike Singer started building my new alternator in my stock case, and should put out around 330-340amps, hes also sending an adjustable voltage regulator to make up for the less output that I had already paid for. He has great customer service, and I wont buy an alternator anywhere else. In other news, there's a show on Saturday so I figured Id spruce up my door panels a little bit. Wasn't the original plan at all, but its all I have time and money for atm. I also took the leather off the box to redo it. It started to come off at the top, because i did not get enough glue on it. Hopefully I get that done before the show also.
